Leading People To Christ At Work

I have loved being a part of a christian counselling service. I was leading people to the Lord. A leader questioned me not being led by holy spirit plus other stuff. Pastor said if you lead people to Christ you have to be prepared for attacks. I have left very hurt.

Spiritual warfare is a reality.

In the Bible, Jesus teaches a parable of the farmer and the seed.
READ it in Matthew 13:1-9 and 18-23.

THE TOOLS FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE are explained in Ephesians 6:10-20 - the whole armor of God. Read the whole chapter.

Verse 11 & 12 -Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

It isn't the people who are attacking you, it is satan. You are focusing on the hurt instead of God. It is hard to be a Christian in a non believing world but the reward will be well worth it.

If you can return, do so. 1st Check your motives
2nd Be lead by the Spirit using the materials provided and more. 3rd if you can't go back or can't stay. The same Lord that got you that job will give you another.
4th trust God above all else and you will not fail
5th Find a church and Pastor that will suport you and be faithful to them.

I encourage you to return and not let one person's opinion drive you away from leading people to Christ. We're called to admonish one another (offer constructive criticism), and listen to other believers. Don't change your entire Christian walk because of one person's admonition. Rather, be wise and consider their advice and ask God to search you to see if any of the accussatory comments are true. If they are, God will help you to remove them. If not... then let it go in one ear and out the other. This person cannot define who you are in Christ unless you give them permission to do so.

Brother, don't be hurt by what others think, see or feel. We are not all the same or in the same level. He might have seen something you didn't. The devil cannot be everywhere at the same time. By been hurt, you are the one that is a victim. Continue your work, but remember, methods don't bring someone to Christ. Only one way only, through the Gospel. For many are making the call through experiences, emotions, and tricks. "Experiencing God" is a good book to read on the subject. Don't allow anger or hate in your heart. May God continue blessing you

The more victory God has, the stronger the devil will attack to destroy it. God will win. It is called spiritual warfare. We need to learn the promises of God

See REVELATION 2 and 3 and the 7 churches.

1. The loveless church
2. The persecuted church
3. The compromising church
4. The corrupt church
5. The dead church
6. The faithful church
7. The lukewarm church 3:16 - So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.

God would much rather we keep winning people to Christ than become lukewarm or cold.

Fay:
Sorry you had to deal with a doubting Thomas. What about your Pastor? Did he step up to the plate for you? It does not seem like it. In any case, take your pain to the Lord and your experiences and talent and clients to another Ch.Counselling Service where you will hopefully be more appreciated.

Yes attacks will come. Unfortunately, the devil likes to use leaders to hurt the flock. If you were truly increasing the Kingdom, then the leader was wrong to quench the Spirit. From my years of experience, anyone (ministers included) who hurts a true child of God is in big trouble with God. Pray for that leader who is not led by the Spirit. And you keep leading others to the Lord, people need to be saved, and the Lord will help you.

I was a counselor in the secular field; Christian counseling is even better. Don't give up! Satan can speak even thru our leaders. However, your pastor was correct to say that "if you lead people to Christ, you have to be prepared for attacks". Satan does not like effective Christians; he works overtime to get rid of them. Daily pray and stay protected against the evil one. Use Ephesians every day. Seek God earnestly re leaving your church. You may be there "for such a time as this". Do not let people determine your faithfulness! Stay anchored in Christ.

remember the great commission. Jesus commanded all of his children to tell others how to be born again. i am a soul winner to. i would only worry about what Jesus wants me to do. not man. your crown is in heaven.in christ.

To lead people to Christ has to come from within you. It has to be real, where others can see your fruits, not of yourself. We can always proclaim His word verbally if we study to show ourselves approved unto God..., but we can never remove the presents we give to others. Is is true love, patience, understanding, or what? Does it proclaim the essence of Christ? If it does, you have fulled your duties you were called to. Let God do the rest. That is where faith comes in, trust Him to answer. My prayer of support for your confort in Him.

you need to remember that the devil uses some christians to discourage other christians. look to God for your encouragement, and confront the discouraging leader, asking him to explain his comments to the church.
---curt on 4/30/05

There are biblical qualifications for being in that type of work. A leader would recognize those qualifications. The result of your work is also examined and the words you speak are repeated. 'What you hear in secret proclaim on the rooftops.'
