I Am Complaining About The Blogs

Blogs or Clogs? Does anyone else think that the new Blog format is an inefficient mass of unrelated ideas? One has to wade through the dating forum and advice to the lovelorn to find any serious doctrinal debate.

The blogs are not mine, so the format "is what it is." I read the ones that interest me and ignore the ones that don't and I don't respond to all (very few, actually).

The only thing I don't like is that previous answers will drop off and you can't go back to read responses. If you start reading a blog in the middle, it is hard to follow.

Not that I like to debate either, but I am a little weary of sifting through singles ads...I understand people are lonely, but it saddens me that we can't edify one another and sharpen eachother in spiritual matters. We, as a whole, including myself, have let temporal things cloud our lives.
---Katie on 12/26/07

Just a suggestion for those of you experiencing difficulty finding which blogs you posted in. I used to have that issue and then I bookmarked the page that highlights my last 20 blog replies. Now, I've only to refer to that page to remember where I left off. This is only helpful, of course, when your blogs are actually published. For those that aren't, you still have to rely on your memory for which blog they're in. HTH :)
---AlwaysOn on 3/11/07

Lorra, I click my browser's back button a few times after I post and it takes me right back to the original blog I was responding to. Or, sometimes, I'll open a separate window to reply in and that way I can easily refer back to another blogger's comments while I'm writing. Maybe you can try one or both of these with success too. Hope this helps and may Yahweh bless you.
---AlwaysOn on 3/11/07

You may be right Bobsled. Possibly bringing up some old questions would get us off the redundant 'religious complaints' blogs. I get so wary of all the finger pointing at churches we don't happen to be a part of. Aren't we here to show the love of Jesus to one and all? Understanding and showing Jesus' love goes a long way. Bless you brother.
---NVBarbara on 3/10/07

NVBarb, don't you think some of the questions were becoming routine? I don't think we're expecting the bloggers of 2005 to respond at all. It's bringing up questions that are still pertinent today. Very few people who ask questions ever respond back to their own questions. I see the older questions as a witnessing tool, to make us think once again. There were two or three issues that we keeping grinding out, day after day. I think we're ready for changes.
---Bob on 3/10/07

NVBarb, we're clogged in gridlock. Same bloggers, giving the same answers (20-30 at a time) different day. It creates boredom. With boredom, comes nitpicking, tiffs, jabs and below the belt punches, and busting of chops. If I'm bored, I become critical, analytical, and split too many hairs. If you notice, Sister Barb, we haven't heard from the Daniels, Bruces, Josefs, Daphnes, Donna2277s, and many others very often. Where did they all go? Don't you miss them all, I do.

There was a time when one had to back up a text with Chapter & Verse Now its guess work & supposition.
---Emcee on 3/10/07

It would be nice to find myself back in the particular blog I was posting in after I posted something. I hate having to search all over the site to find out where I was if I want to add something. It would also be nice to have threads so that I can respond directly to individual posts - I have trouble remembering what was said when I am replying and sometimes I even forget who said what. It can be embarrassing. And 85 words is great for a question, but not so good for a reply.
---lorra8574 on 3/10/07

Obviously there have been complaints since this post in 2005! However, I've not seen such confusion on the blogs EVER! There have been changes over the years, but the way it is now is VERY difficult to navigate! Old and new mixed together, very awkward.
---NVBarbara on 3/10/07

As I read here, I also find a hard time exacting Where my Posts have gone. The only way to really keep track of any writing is system of Organization. People research the articles that THEY personally post online.
---rosem4839 on 3/9/07

I ask the Webmaster about the lack of religious material. If they had changed the format for the site, the answer was no,they are printing what is given them.So if we want more Bible then we need to ask the questions about it. Evidently the Webmaster agrees with the current material or it wouldn't be here.I miss the old forum, but you may as well go with the flow, you can't change it.Perhaps all who know what we are missing, need to pray God will move to change things to a more religious tone.Remember, however,no matter the cause of a persons pain, to them it's the worst in the world.

I am new,but I think that it is nice that people have a place to go and get answers.

Jerry, if you don't find this blog site helpful, don't waste your time in it!
---Jack on 5/31/05

I like this site for blogs. But I am not too agreeable to your treatment accorded to the contributors. I would now not post further questions neither contribute as believe me many learned and well informed contributors are involving in the site. Anyway, I would tell you in Chinese, we divide spirit as , soul and body . is the breath of God and known it as shen jin _S or nervous bible from God. Sorry no Chinese in the blogs.

I would like to see diccussions on bible, not on dating. No offense anyone, but I am more intrested in the word than I am on someone who can't find a mate.
---Rebecca_D on 5/16/05

Ann, This was exactly what I was thinking.
---John on 5/11/05

i think they should bring back the Most Popular section, i have noticed that most of the current questions have been delt with in detail in the popular section.
---Megg on 5/11/05

I just noticed that, too...only 85 words. It was sometimes hard to answer someone with the 100 word limit. Let's get back to that. And also, why, when you answer a blog, do you go to a whole page of business blogs, and not back to the Christian page? I really miss the way they were before.

Whats up with the 85 word max, for a reply to a blog. I thought it was 100 words which is really not enough for some replys. It's very difficult to help someone with only 85 words sometimes.
---Jim on 5/10/05

My complaint is that blog denies some of my postings regarding topics which blog thinks my English is worded so poorly people can't understand what I am saying. How could they? I ask for cofirmation that a day was lost that upsets the cycle of the weekdays. Cloning of Eve, Mother of God and etc.
---Pek on 5/8/05

I am relatively new here and I LIKE the complaining blogs!!LoL Where are the cookies Alan? Actually I know of other websites where a lot of hurting people are wallowing and won't let anyone help them. At least this seems like people are looking for Godly counsel...and isn't that what we should be about? Building up the Kingdom?
---Julie on 5/7/05

I am very disappointed with Blogs. The old forum was superb and this isn't. I used to come on several times a day and now it's about once every 3 days and often I do not wish to contribute. Many old names are missing, those who had something spiritual and scriptural to offer. Blogs seems more like marriage counselling etc. I don't think I'll be around much longer either.

Why complain about the blogs? They are merely compilations of our thoughts, ideas, opinions, & experiences. As far as being more organized, in subject matters, just post whatever interests you and if others have comments about it they'll post them. Being able to browse through the blogs makes it more interesting for me. On a more personal note, I would like to see groups formed to discuss the blogs that interest them. This would be another way for us to communicate on more of a one on one basis. In summary, I think getting others' thoughts, etc., can be very helpful, at times.
---Shirle3914 on 5/7/05

Jerry:
I think subjects need to be sorted out and, there should not be so many blogs that deal with medical questions. People, who don't have medical training should not give medical advice.
---PIERR7958 on 5/6/05

Hi, Actually, it would be better if they were sorted somehow according to main topics, but I don't know if this can be done. It is a sort of pot-pourri, but I get through it okay. I like them, and like to help. Better than no blogs!
---Kristine on 5/6/05

I am new to this website and really like it. This question helped me assess the situation as stated above. Perhaps there are many ways it could be better organized, but as it is now, it is challenging me in many different areas of life. This format gives even more reason to go to the Word (which I find super anyway). I thank God for the Brothers and Sisters at ChristiaNet to give us this opportunity to share the love of Jesus. I am blessed to not only to be able to give but to receive in abundance. Praise the Lord for this beacon of light in a very dark world!

I am finding the Blogs as source of new learning. Others will find it as an inefficient mass of unrelated ideas, but seriously considering each idea will make one realize that many brains are working to make this site worth visiting to.

Thanks for the recipe, Alan.

Drop into the humour blog Alan! You're a cheery man, and I love British humour!
---NV_Barbara on 5/5/05

Why is everyone complaining? What is wrong with having various topics on the Blogs? If it bothers you that much then there are other websites you can utilize but I personally like the variations here now...it gives insight into other people's opinions and if it upsets some then sobeit...there is no way on God's green earth that you can please everyone and so just pray about attitudes and instead of complaining about the blogs commend the webmaster for being creative and trying new things....

I know ChristiaNet is doing a lot of changes and some things are confusing. I agree with Alan that subjects for discussion should be put in catagories, so we can skip the ones we really have nothing to add to. Sit tight, I think things will get more orderly. BTW Alan, I made some of your biscuits and I added some raisons, they were yummy!Pretty much like our "Oatmeal cookies" here.

It is a pity we no longer have the separate list for theo, and dating & marruage & finance etc.

That wiould help a lot, I would suggest
Theological & spiritual
Relationship, marriage & dating issues
Advertising for dates
Parents issues
General (e.g. reecipes ...I am disappointed ... I am the only one to actually put one on so far!)
