When somebody assumes that they are born again and they have all outward signs of being so and their heart is aligned with the purpose of God and they act, God's Divine Mercy is activated and the hard hearts are softened.

The words are not that important but what is in your heart is. "Lord, please forgive me for all the wrong I have done, I repent of all my sins, and believe you will forgive me. I believe you died for me and resurrected, I ask you to come into my heart and make a new person of me, Thank you Lord for the love you have for me" If you prayed that prayer Emcee, you are a child of God. Be one of the chosen one's.

But you have an opertunity that others didn't have. You have that chance to give your life to Christ. If you say them with your heart, you too can be save. but you have to believe in your heart. None of us will ever judge you. we would be so happy for you. Don't let pride in your heart for your church stop you from been a child of God. If you have been chosen you will do it, if not then you are not one of His.

You are afraid to believe you're wrong because then what happens to all the others that are Catholic and have not been born again and have died? you see They never knew they had to be born again. You call it arrogance but it is our security through Jesus Christ. What is your security? Your church? I know you have a been a Catholic all your life and its hard for you to just find out, but it has been there always. You pick verses to prove your point and you don't read the whole context.

Emcee, I know the reason you put that question on there for. I have seen your answers before. I have answered you many times but you seem to know so much and yet you still know very little. You see you give a verse that is meant for believers. If you look again in the whole context Jesus is not speaking to the lost world but to the Apostles. A person lost does not seek God. You are not familiar with born again becuase Catholics don't teach it.

1 John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Through god's mercy we (the elect) are brought to God by the drawing of the Holy spirit. "You must be born of water and of the spirit to be saved" something here Nicodemus did not even understand as one being a teacher in Israel. Paul tells us to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling and many verses speak of examine ourselves of the hope found with-in us. Not a idle gift to take lightly and we all are called to study the scriptures to show ourselves approved unto God.

The reason for this blog, was to justify a statement so often used I am "Born Again" I am "saved"I believe that Jesus died for my sins & I am assured of a place in heaven all my sins are forgiven& one continues going along in their own sweet merry way.this is what I woud say is arrogance, taking for Granted PRESUMPTIOUS.If so it say's "First, seek God & His MERCY & all things shall be added unto you".Just a reflection.this gains you admittance, not assuming.

Presumption: = your believing that your goodness is what saves you at the end.Another would be to believe that God did not really mean for us to:"Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy!" If we choose to remember Friday instad, he will still be happy and we will still be saved! It aint so!

I wish I knew what you were really asking. No can assume they are saved and born again and let it be so. You must humble yourself before God and ask him to save you with an overwhelming conviction in your heart. No one can be saved without the drawing of the Holy Spirit. I have watched people act like they were saved, but one day God got hold of their heart and they "really" got saved. That is why I can't understand what you mean.

Never presume any one is saved, always ask, and ask them in detail about their personal salvation testimony.

Presumption= accepting something as true based on the face value or circumstantial evidence and lack of proof to the contrary. Never presume someone is saved just because they look like it, or because they have ordination papers, or because they are a leader in church and use christian lingo, etc. The best way to know if someone is really saved and born-again or not, is to outright ask them, and for them to be able to give their personal testimony of salvation on when, and where, and how, they were saved.
