"What does it mean to be "led by God?" It means submitting yourself, your thoughts & your actions to the guidance of the Spirit & Word of God. Consciously focusing & relying exclusively upon Him for directions, thus avoiding leaning on or resting in you own carnal understanding or sensually based intellect to guide you. The Father speaks to you through your conscience as you allow your mind to be opened to that still small voice within, discerned through prayerful meditation upon His Word.

It is not easy sometimes to know. Experience teaches alot. Usually, unless Satan is trying to hinder, it is a smooth with ease. Sometimes you feel a struggle, flesh wants one thing and God another, a tug of war pursues. Sometimes you feel a prompting inside of you, that too is definately the leading from the Person of the Holy Spirit. [GOD] Sometimes God will come right out and tell you and joy, anticipation, desires, ect. with hit you all over, ALSO deep down inside of you. You want to and can't wait.

1. Repentance is a gift from God.

2. The bible gives good advice for proper use of consciousness.

The moment you are born again you receive the ability to hear God and be led of his Spirit,it is rebellion that keeps anyone from hearing God, King Saul stopped hearing God when he disobeyed him and listened to the people.
Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

Deuteronomy 4:29-30 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

It means to follow the Word of God in the bible. Do not try to change it,argue with it. Just do it! Be obedient and God will bless you. If you have an urging in your Spirit to do right, it is God speaking to you through your conscience.

It's called Spiritual maturity. I believe it's a life long process.

The big rule that you have to enforce- It doesn't go against His Word.

I think he likes us to step out in faith in some areas.
Your righteousness was earned by the cross, not by you. Keep that in mind when you feel like your stepping out in faith. God requires it, but not to be stupid with it either.

Rex, Wonderful question! I pray and believe that God has heard. Then I ask for confirmation. This can come thru circumstances, thru the Word, or thru a believer, etc. God is never limited in His ways to communicate, specially designed for each of us. Sometimes the Holy Spirit surprises me and comes thru a vision; this has happened only 4 times in my 71 years. I try to stay away from trusting emotions; however, I have to say, God's peace about something is right up there with the goodies of life!

When I am praying for an answer or a directive I know when the answer is from God. It is more like a feeling than a thought and it seems to come from deep within and not from my head. When we are truly seeking His will we will recgonize His voice. God's answer will never be unbibical or self serving.

I suppose different people interpret this differently, but for me, when God speaks to me a still small voice, I know it immediately. There are times I have not listened and it is when I joined a certain church this year and a day later regreted it. It was not of God and I know that now. I have since found a different church where I feel the freedom to worship, testify, shout if I want to, sing and be happy.

God is good. (all the time) There is no shadow of turning. He is not a man that He should lie. He.. can only do, say, GOOD! A couple of ways to check is:Ask God to confirm what He wants you to do. OR there is wisdom in a multitude of counsellors OR check the motives of your heart. For small stuff: Good is GOOD.

If you abide in Christ Jesus, and are on fire for Him, You'll know.

I have heard it to be a command you cannot say no to.

I have been to foreign countries and have done difficult projects. Some I know I had to do, others I didn't. I think that's part of the learing process.

No answer from God is that he is leaving the decision to you. Sometimes I think he's telling us, but we don't want to listen.
