Why would the Father rejects those who do the same WALK as Abraham?

Lee: Nice tap dance and counter-accusation. You even picked up a fan - mima. But the burning question remains unanswered:
Do you or do you not teach against the Ten Commandments? That issue is between you, your God and His word. It has nothing to do with me or my perceived righteousness, so try to stay focused this time.
And mima, a YES or NO answer would be clear and concise.
---jerry6593 on 4/7/10|
mima//His answer is clear concise and correct.
It is those 'clear, concise & correct' answers that have them on the horns of the truth.
While I can to some extent respect their viewpoints, they simply do not take into account that fact that scripture must be interpreted in the light of Scripture. They ignore too much of what is stated in Scripture.
Of course, the major problem is that they are determined to follow false teachers who believe that righteousness comes from obedience to the law, esp. the Sabbath commandment. Such spirits did much the same to our Lord while He was on earth and even brought Him to the Cross.

Jerry - so you believe I teach against the 10 commandments? One of the 10 commandments you consistently disobey is the one that involves slander.
While I will admit my sinfulness, you are obviously blinded to yours believing God would be very impressed with your self righteousness.
Unlike you, I do not hold one is righteous through obedience to law.
Gal. 2:21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if justification were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
To be justified means to be declared righteous, and that is what God views me and all others that are in Christ. 1 Cor. 1:30.
The SDA know little of the Bible or the Gospel message as theirs is strictly a Judaizing works salvation. Mt. 15:14

Cherry picked I call the care package for the gentiles given to Paul in Acts 15. But we know that Paul taught more than that. Besides, they themselves kept to the teaching of Moses. Paul taught, Ephesians 6:2: "Honour thy father and mother, (which is the first commandment with promise,)". Yet, he felt no obligation, nor a requirement to teach much of the 600+. Where I do not believe that circumcicion, Sabbath, and dietary laws..., are requirement to the gentile church, we can't generalize "600+" as if it was a curse, when Paul taught at least that one, even part of the ten. Any law which teaches or implement judgement, mercy and faith, I believe it is binding on all Christians.

Jerry - Re: Mt. 5:17 I still find myself in disagreement with you that Christ did not fulfill the law and that we are still under the Old Covenant distribution.
If you are under the Old Cov, then you must observe ALL of the 600+ laws not cherry picked ones not found within the New covenant.
And do I teach against the law? Which ones, provide New Testament chapter & verse, Please.
---Lee1538 on 4/5/10|
Mat 5:17-19 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
What do you think you are called in heaven? You continually teach the breaking of God's Law.

//Why do so many conservative Christians of ANYBODY'S church tell lies in the name of Jesus?
Because all too many conservative Christians obey the teachings of religion rather than the teachings of Christ.
One even put restrictions of what day we must observe and even on what we may or not eat. That is religion, not what Christ has taught.
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
And there are too many in the church today that have succcumbed to religious philosophy.

Jerry //When Christ forgave the adultress, He didn't tell her to go back to adultery, He said "GO AND SIN NO MORE."
But you do continue to sin do you not Jerry?
If you say you do not then you ignore the Scripture -
1Jo 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Yes Jerry, we all realize that you believe observing the Sabbath & the Levitical dietary laws will help you merit your salvation. But salvation is in Jesus not in obedience to OT laws.
---Lee1538 on 4/3/10|
Alan: Last time I checked, "thou shalt not inadvertently booze" was not one of the Ten Commandments. It is they which define sin. It is the willful breach of the Commandments that is sin. Even temptation is not sin, as Christ was tempted but sinned not.
---jerry6593 on 4/3/10|
Jerry ... An alcoholic does not have a "genetic predisposition to alcohol"
He has a medical condition (created during the time when he drank excessively) whereby any consumption of alcohol, however small, triggers off the old craving.
Those who have learned to live without it are subject, as was my friend who unknowingly drank a spiked soft drink. She had no idea what had happened and why she suddenly craved.
Don't tell me that she sinned. If you do you call her a liar.
---alan8566_of_uk on 4/3/10|
Alan: I'm sticking with the simile. An alcholic may indeed have a genetic predisposition to alcohol, but he may (with difficulty) learn to live without it. We humans have a sinful nature, but we can be empowered to overcome our sins if we choose to accept the new heart that Christ offers us. If this is not the case, then the Bible is a lie, and Satan is more powerful than Christ, in that he can tempt us to sin but Christ is too weak to keep us from sinning. I don't buy that. Do you?
---jerry6593 on 4/3/10|
What they should say is "I'm a former sinner, but by grace I'm learning to live without it." When Christ forgave the adultress, He didn't tell her to go back to adultery, He said "GO AND SIN NO MORE."
---jerry6593 on 4/2/10
You are 100% correct. Infact many christians would rather identify with their past sins, and status as sinner, then thier current righteousness by faith and being a son of God.
But I love what the bible says about Job:
Job 1:22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
---francis on 4/2/10|
Jerry ... You are right to a certain extent about sin ... but it is wrong to say with that you are a FORMER sinner, and that you sin no more. The arrogance, anger and judgmentalism shown here by some who claim to sin no more, are themselves sins. The Bible says there's been no one without sin, except Jesus.
And your parallel example sadly perpetuates the lie that drunkeness is the same as alcoholism. I have known drunks who were not alcoholics. Alcoholism is a medical or bodily condition caused as a result of excessive consumption of alcohol, which may have been years ago. Even if the person still does not drink, he may/she may still suffer from alcoholism.
---alan8566_of_uk on 4/2/10|
Donna66, Francis: You both make good points. Many Christians look at grace as almost a license to sin, as opposed to grace being the imputed power to overcome sin.
One of the problems is the splitting of time between past and present. Like the FORMER drunks at the AA meetings who say "I'm an alcholic," they say "I'm a sinner," or "we're all sinners." What they should say is "I'm a former sinner, but by grace I'm learning to live without it." When Christ forgave the adultress, He didn't tell her to go back to adultery, He said "GO AND SIN NO MORE."
---jerry6593 on 4/2/10|
Why do so many christians lie.
Most churches refer to thier members as SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE
No christian is a sinner saved by grace. We are sons, and daughters of God, saints of the most high God, priest servants of God, hiers together with christ, children of the most high God.
But we are called SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE which is not in the bible.
You tell somone that he is a SINNER saved by grace, eventually he fogets the SAVED by GRACE part, and allows the SINNER part to shine.
So soon it does not matter when and if we lie,OR SIN, after all we are just SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE
---francis on 4/1/10|
What make you think that if the truth is not in them I would concern myself with what they take as offencive.
Well, I had thought you might want to SHOW them the truth. But if you offend people, they are not likely to listen to anything you say.
You can point out the falsehood of what they say, acknowleging their probable sincerety (as you did in your response to me). Then tell them what is the truth and why.
Or if you are really as unconcerned as you say, you can just walk on...
---Donna66 on 4/1/10|
What make you think that if the truth is not in them I would concern myself with what they take as offencive. Remember Jesus said "And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me".
I was saying not to Judge them by presuming they were telling a lie. Most people learn the Scripture in a church or through someone telling them. Many of these teaching are wrong but they don't study the word with an open heart, or at all. So what they say they believe, even if is not the truth, is what they believe, and not an out and out lie.
---Ed on 4/1/10|
Ed... "If the Truth is not in them then tell them that"
Most people would take as much offense at hearing this, as being accused of lying. Why not just say, "no, the truth is...."? Tell them why. You don't have to make any judgement about them personally.
---Donna66 on 3/30/10|
Brother and Sisters Stop.
Don't accuse your fellow Christian of a lie.
To say that, is to say they know, there are telling something that is not true. It may well be, and is most likely, that they are saying what they have been taught. We are not to Judge them, we do not know what is in there hearts. If the Truth is not in them then tell them that. But don't say they know the truth and lie about it. For that is Judgement. Love and do unto them as you would have them do unto you.
Peace and Love be with you all.
---Ed on 3/30/10|
Oh, Leslie... almost every one who contributes to these blogs says they follow the Word of God and believe it exclusively.
But their beliefs are not identical.
Are you saying only those that believe as you do are "real" Christians.
GOD knows those who are HIS. HE knows the hearts of men. Please understand that that you may not.
---Donna66 on 3/29/10|
Most "Christians" lie because they are NOT truly saved, they are FALSE converts - NOT really Christians. You can tell the TRUE Christians from the false, in the fact that the TRUE Christians ONLY go with what the Bible (God's opinion) says, NOT man's (others or their own) opinion of what it says.
---Leslie on 3/29/10|
If one fears God, he will attempt to speak the truth. I think that most people including Christians have told lies. If you find yourself lying, then stop and ask for Gods forgiveness and seek to speak the truth. Jesus died and arose from the dead for such. Those who willfully and continually sin, have no more sacrifice for sin since they continue to nail Jesus to the cross with their lifestyle. However, even they can repent if they could choose to. I pray that they will repent and seek God.
---jody on 3/29/10|

Christians who claim they cannot sin have some "splainin" to do. But most Christians acknowledge that Christians can and do sin, ...even in their ongoing effort to avoid sin.
Lying has become so habitual in our culture, that we may not even notice it at times. But "Lies in the name of Jesus"?
What does this mean? (Are they knowingly telling an untruth "in Jesus' name"? or are they simply in error.)
Everyone believes some "misinformation" at times. Slander is sin. And there is way too much of it among Christians...esp. on these blogs.
---Donna66 on 3/28/10|
It should come as no surprise that many who call themselves Christian should lie, since they think that they are "under grace" or "under the new covenant" and that that means they not longer have to obey the Ten Commandments, and it's proscription of lying.

I agree, however, I also call myself a christian. At this time I am not affiliated with any christian organizations. But, I am trying to do my daily readings of the bible and follow Gods Laws. When I say I am a Christian, I am saying that I believe that God gave his son as a ransom for our sins. I believe that if I should make it, everlasting life will be. I believe that God is speaking to us through the bible and all that he has said will manifest itself in the near future. But that is me.

Anyone can misapply and misappropriate the name "Christian" to themself or to their church, when they are in fact not Christian, but rather wolves in sheep's clothing: just as there are also unholy bibles which mistitle their covers with "Holy Bible" when they are not God's words written on the pages. "You will know them by their fruits, for the tree is known by the fruits that they bear."
---Eloy on 3/27/10|
Christians lie because first and foremost they are lying to themselves. How can they be honest with others when they can't admit a lot of things to themselves?
I'm sure everyone will be howling this is so untrue, but I have been on this planet 45 years and I have seen a lot of things. Saying that religious people are unusually honest simply does not correspond to reality, and the people who deny this the most are the ones most heavily involved in self-deception.
And I am not an atheist, but see no point in lying to myself that I have special insights about God, that mysteriously coincide with my own self-interests, as well as geographic location.

Alan, I didn't know to click the name to find out when someone posted. Second, I want to admit I was wrong on the matter of love thy enemies. I remember once telling you that I didn't think it meant to forgive and love those who molest children and murders. That Jesus meant a different love for others. We are to sacrifice ourselves for others but wrong that even if someone is a murderer or molester, Jesus still wants us to love them. I had a talk with our pastor and he not only gave the passages but told me that Jesus standards are the highest. And that is why we think he doesn't meant that but He does.
You were right and I was wrong. He does call us to love everyone. We know it hard but His standards are the highest. Thanks Alan, peace

A liar is someone who consciencely lies. This person knows that he lied. The Lord is very displeased with liars. The Bible clearly tells us in Rev 21:8 that liars (etc) do not inherit the kingdom of God.
Keep a clean consciense before God. Have the fear of God in your heart. If you make a mistake admit your lie to the person you lied to and confess it to God. He forgives those who sincerely repent and sincerely want to abide in Him and live to obey the Holy Spirit.
Don't think you can get away with lying and God won't care. One sin starts out small and starts to escalade, in other words: one lie leads to more lies. Nip it in the bud and get right with God. God gives us a chance to repent before we meet Him (see Rev.)

Alan, really? I thought I saw him answer a few blogs but I don't remember which ones. That is ok Alan. I believe I still have a grudge against him. I admit that. I need to get over it. I guess hearing him say what he did, was really a shock to me. I never heard a Christian say such things about Christ, the Person who died for him, whom he says he loves, and it stayed in my heart. No one speaks bad of the person they love. That is not love. Even now when I think about it again, it disturbs me in the spirit a whole lot. I was so angry when he did that I admit I am not over it yet and I need to get my heart clear of it. I will ask God to help me get over that. Thanks Alan.

"Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God." Eloy, I am answering because of your statement about liars, I believed you distorted the real Truth when you said you suffered more then Christ. That was a complete distortion of the Truth to show you had it hard in life. Yes, Jesus didn't have to clean any dirty toilets as you stated before, but He died in order for you to have life, something you never did for anyone. You might have suffered differently but not more then Him. So all truth tellers are not whom they seem to be. The tree is known by its fruit, but many trees develope bad fruit. The bad fruit is thrown away because it is waste and only the good fruits servives.

Jane: God bless you. I have found an interesting statistic. There is about the same ratio of good-to-lousy people inside the church as there are outside. I have also found that the proportion of truly godly people in a church (the denomination doesn't matter) is quite low. I guess it's just human nature, and if we don't have Christ within us, then we're only human, and act like it. But we don't have to be that way. One righteous person can make a difference in any situation. I think that's our job as Christians, isn't it? To help others to find the path to God?

There were no grade-level texts, my books / supplies were stolen by staff, attendance was falsified, and grant funding used for other puposes. A student was resisting an abortion, I sent her to the principal who was very publically against abortion. I heard him laugh about her abortion as "I guess she changed her mind." All of this done under the Name of Christ. Rather than complain I kept quiet for fear of hurting the cause of Christ. Someone anonymously compained about some of these things. To Whosoever has an ear to hear?
Yes!! There are those who wish to intentionally deceive & destroy others by trying to make them as sick & as pessimistic as they are about life.
Just remember to try all things in the Spirit because whether intentionally or unintentionally, not everyone that says "Lord Lord" is of the Lord!! Just like not everyone who says "Christian Christian" is a Christian following Christ.
Optimistic means to be "hopeful" and I believe we need to be optimistic of being edified at all times and realize that no one has perfect understanding of the Word of God because we will also run into those who are looking to earnestly edify us but unintentionally lead them astray.

Liars are not Christians. Any who say Christians are sinners, blasphemes, calling Jesus and we saints liars, and does despite to the saving grace of God. The tree is known by the fruit that it bears. Liars bear lies, and truth-tellers bear truths. Not all people are liars, and not all people tell the truth, for there are both liars and truth-tellers in the world. Yet he acknowledges in the book of Romans that he sins continually and he teaches us that it is the sin nature at work in us and thank God, he says we have a saviour Jesus Christ who forgives us every time. Most Christians do not knowingly tell lies in the name of Jesus. They are typically repeating a falsehood that someone in authority has told them, which they believe to be true. I do not condemn such people, but rather their leadership - those who should know better - but for some reason harden their hearts against the plain truths of the Bible, and then teach it to others.
---Jerry on 5/28/05|
i also have learned that some people believe that their church or religion or denomination is the only right one, and that all the rest are wrong, and so to justify this misconception they'll denounce and find-fault and manufacture lies against all those who disagree with them.

Scripture says that the tares will grow together with the wheat until the Lord of the harvest will come. This is not a problem in my own church. ANY congregation is going to have sinners; that's why there's Jesus. There ar about a half-dozen hard-core malcontents, but it's not of these I speak. Example: one of many sites sayign what's wrong with the NKJV, as opposed to the 1611/1769 KJV. NOTHING it said about the "omissions" (or anything else) about the KJV was anywhere near the truth, as checking the verses would prove. But there are other issues as well I could talk about if space permitted.

Because of lack of fear of God in them. It's not all that come to church that are christians. Some attend church because they don't want to be seen as pegans. We can not explain why so many have trouble with the truth. We must be aware and for some we must divide their story by 2 or 5 or ten to be close to what happened. The point is though-Jack-we, you and I, must not let them come between ourselves and our faith. If we do, their are closer to our Lord than we are. We must let God do His job and let Him not us do the judging.

I don't know what group of Christians you have bee hanging with but as for me most real followers of Christ don't lie as often as you think.
So called Christians will lie but real Christians tell the truth or remain quiet.

there are alot of liers in this world and jesus said the road to our father is very narrow. We are all sinners and bound by one sin or another.jesus said that if we beleave we will be unbound and forgiven from our sins...being that lieing and all other sins are so great on earth to day i would say its because we are liveing in the last days before the return of christ....jesus said let them walk as they walk.

Jack; Is your "religion" the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth? If it is than you are indeed "unique". No church or religious group has "exclusive" posession of all the answers!

I think some are deceived and don't know they are lying. But there are infiltrators in our churches, also. Even some pastors are actually infiltrators. If you know the true doctrine of Christ and are fully pursuaded of the truth in your own mind, then pray for the people that have been deceived that they might repent. I understand you feeling sickened. It hurts to see iniquity in Christians.......but all of us are sinners so we need to pray for these people.
