Rev 12: 1,"With a crown of 12 stars"....being the 12 family's of Israel ...remnant.
Almost any scriptural post mention of this family of Twelve, brings intense jealousy and hatred out. In print, essence forever. Amazing times and signs.

Rev 12:1 there appeared a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

Mat. 16 v 18, Jesus said unto Peter & was Fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, Acts 2 v 38.

Then the deceiving prince of darkness stuck his nose in & came the Manmade theology ideology with commandments n doctrines & teachings of men, Rev.17 vs 4 5 6 trinity churches. Then there are peoples that worship the gods buddha, allah, hindu, hare krishna, moony, other etc, still by the prince of darkness.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets,

As per your point Hilo that he found the

It is not the temple that is such, but the false religious leaders that are much worse than imperfect and flawed.

Loren. Those who are in captivity to institutional obedience and it's self- appointed hypocrite trained leaders are unaware of their state. Therefore they will be filled up with delusion and lies. Not from the devil, but from God. What also really matters, is - love of the truth.

If you know that there is one God.Then you should know that there is only one image
As it is written, that, many are called, but few chosen. There are so many churches
because one would rather follow their own
ideas rather than God's.So they use Him to
create their own presentations.Which is why it is written that, in vain they do worship me. Seek and ye shall find.Knock,
and the door shall be open to you.
But, if we don't run in the race.Don't expect to receive a prize.

Because we are, as a family, unruly knuckle heads who get bent out of shape when someone does not see things exactly the way we do and we miss the second most important commandment from our Lord Yeshua and that is to love our neighbors as ourselves...should be easy shouldn't it...all we have to do is love.....
---Michael on 12/17/07

The word is line upon line and precept upon precept until we come to the knowledge of the truth, or one word, faith and baptism!
All leading to one word: one truth!
Some stop and make a god, or doctrine out of what someone else saw in diligence. Others heap up teachers to tickle their ears with their lusts of this life. Few keep going forward when they reach a doctrinal limitation or heresy. Since God has not given us a spirit of fear we know they do not follow the Lord.

---Frank on 12/17/07

Most all our Christian religions have some truth, but it seems dishonest to pretend that our different teachings can all still be "truth". I'ld like to really know and not just educatedly guess at doctrines. Hopefully true seekers of truth will eventually know and not just have to have such "blind faith" on the doctrinal differences. Maybe God wants it to remain a little unclear, because what really matters is how we treat others, not so much whether we get each doctrine right.
---Loren on 12/17/07

To know the differences, read the seven letters to the seven churches in Revelation.

The origianal concept of "church" was simply a relationship with God. Over the years, the teachings changed to doctrines and traditions. The churches of today are but doctrines and traditions. Rarely do you find a true church. Most churches are controlled by the government by becoming a non-profit corporate organization. I suggest studying up on how home churches are more related to the original concept.
---Steveng on 12/16/07

The true church during the soon-to-come tribulation will be similar to the churches in China today. They will need to hide their worshipping from the public.

All throughout history Christians and Jews escaped oppression. The tribulation is no different. There will be a time when Christians will follow the "underground railroad" to Christian safe havens.
---Steveng on 12/16/07

I have found no true church just true believers. You can recognize a true christian by their fruit. (Matthew 7:15-20 & Galatians 5:22-23) When Jesus was on earth He worshiped at the Temple and He found it imperfect and flawed (Matthew 3:7 & Mark 11:17). Yet He was exceptable in every way. Spend as much time as you can with true children of God and if they have a home church even better. Just test everything you are told to be sure it conforms with the word of God (the Bible).

Divisions within Christianity:
In its earliest years, the Christian religion was divided into many different religious movements of which three groups: the Gnostic Christians, Jewish Christians, and Pauline Christians were the largest. The first almost disappeared. The second did disappear. Almost all current Christian groups trace their lineage back to the Pauline Christian movement.

Today, there are many ways of classifying the over 1,000 Christian faith groups in North America:

.sheila, God cares more about truth, rather than popularity. Not all churches pray to Jesus, and most do not even know him. God rewards seekers, not entertainers. Do not misunderstand me, God approves of singing and performances "for him", but when "the show" replaces the worship and the seeking after God, then I remove my light from them says the Lord. And when they return to me with all their heart then I restore them to glory as a beakon upon hill for all the lost to gather.

"The church which worships and obeys Christ only, is the one true church from Christ."

But there is always ONE church that is most popular and has the most churchgoers. People usually don't go to other church of different demonitions. How do you explain that? All churches pray to Jesus.

In USA, you can find three churches overlooked each other. Then another is about 5 mins drive away. But not in some other countries. Because there will be competitions among each other.

I don't think disunity by itself is good, but the truth tends to get corrupted, then dilution and division of that corruption may be a good thing. As I mentioned, I do think that there are divisions not just on ecclesiastical authority, but even on doctrines. It seems that even those who belong to the same denomination, still have their own personal beliefs that differ from others in that denomination. I am just stating facts, not suggesting "non-denominationalism".
---stephen on 12/13/07

The church has always been divided. At first there was a division between the Hebrew & Hellenist converts. Then after the church became scattered away from Jerusalem, there came to be conflict between Jewish Christians & Gentiles. The former continued to observe the Mosaic customs while the latter did not. Even today we have the successors of both parties - the Adventists with their Sabbath observances, dietary laws, etc. and other Christians that followed only what is in the New Covenant.
---lee on 12/12/07

The problem is that there is more than just ecclesiastical disunity. As I see it, the divisions started even in Paul's and Peter's time. In essence at that time, there were two Christian churches (a gentile Christian church and a Jerusalem Chrisitian church) each with somewhat different doctrines and requirements. Paul and Peter effectively agreed to disagree, leaving Paul the head of the gentile Christians and Peter the head of the Jerusalem Christians.

Betty - I believe that God being the lord of history permitted His church to be broken into pieces as the mother church became too corrupted. .

There is an advantage of having the church split as competition has its own check & balances not found within a monopoly.

We should pray only for unity among Christians, not of eccesiastical unity.

---betty on 12/4/07

Why do we have so many sects? Probably because after 2000 years, many Christians still can't get it right. Churches are built on man-made doctrines and, therefore, are flawed even though they profess to be "true". They are also righteously arrogant with these doctrines. Rules, rites, "revelations" all are focused upon instead of basic respect of neighbor.

greetings. There is unity and there is uniformity.Religious teachers have placed doctrines, creeds, ceremonies, rightuals, observances, competitions and rights of passage above the saving truth thus creating uniformity -the things I must also do to be saved.Saving truth as Jesus taught it does not require uniformities to enter the brotherhood of man and the kingdom of Heaven. The kingdom is a unified group of faithful and loyal beings to the Father by doing the golden rule.Entrance requires faith.

Satan has divided the body of Christ. In most churches there is a focus on a few passages that other churches don't focus on. Then there are other's that clearly present a different gospel. If you know your Bible then you will beable to clearly identify the churches that teach a different gospel.

While we can pray for unity among Christians we can easily see from church history what has or can again happen if there is one monolithic church. The clergy would sooner or later become drunk with power and again start abusing those under them.

Tom Jefferson once stated that the more denominations there are, the safer democracy is and I am inclined to agree with him.

First, there is the fact that we all bring our own biases (or get biased/brainwashed by the opinions of others). The Second reason is that not everything is clearly stated in the Bible. The Bible is a finite book,in man's imperfect language, written by imperfect men, translated multple times by more imperfect men. When you add all this together it would be miraculous if there weren't differences.

We break God into pieces with our doctrines, and then blame satan for division. He likes the credit.
We ask and God provides. We ask by our behaviour and what we choose at heart. And men today love lies, especially lies that break God in pieces. So we receive from God what we ask for. Jer 51:23 I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock, and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen, and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.

Christianity is the only true religion. The only true church are God's people. Why are there so many churches? As someon said, one-time on here. "THE ALL-MIGHTY DOLLAR". It is a disgrace to God's good name.

Like the religious leaders of Jesus' day, most people don't want to abandon their own doctrines, read God's Word exactly as written, and go to God only on His terms. Many people just want something to believe. But God has magnified His Word above all His Name (Psalm 138:2). He didn't do that with our opinions. Read 1 Cor. 1:10-3:23 for God's opinion of the envy, strife, and division that lead to denominations. God bless you! Write me. jeffr5976 :)

Why are there so many churches is like asking why there is so many different bibles in English. In Genesis 3, Satan is seen his first attack on God. When someone don't know what God said, it is easy to confuse that person. My suggestion, follow 2 Timothy 2:15, start reading in Romans. Notice Galatians 2:7, Acts 9:15. Peace

I never mention who is save and who is not. I sure don't know. Only God knows, but I do know that when we worship a church and that church saves us, it is wrong. Ruben has been preaching that to me for along time. We are saved by grace along, through faith, not by anything anyone does. It is important that people know that Steve. Our focus is on Christ. What He did on the cross for us. Not what the church does are will do.

The Catholic church is doing a lot of things right but has a way to go to clean its house. How it changes is up to the new pope for the last one did a lot of good. Only time will tell. God has a purpose for everything. It has survive because of God. If He had wanted He would have distroyed it a long time ago. The church has a purpose in God's plan and it will complete its purpose in God's time.

One of them was also worshipping the church instead of God. From there others started and now we are where we are. Many don't want to have a part of the Catholic church becuase they know the wrongs they did and how they are govern by one pope that speaks for Christ when we are to speak to God through Christ along. Worshipping the church is so wrong let along the saints too. Many Catholics object to those abuses and were killed. that is why there is so many churches.
---Lupe2618 on 6/21/05

Sister Emcee, I will answer you but try my best not to hurt your feelings. I know your devotion to the Catholic church, and what your believes are. I have read them. I believe there is many churches now and it started with the reformation. The Catholic church was using its power to change things the way they wanted. Many people suffered because of the way the church did their affairs. people wanted to continue to worship God but not be a part of the corruption the church was doing at the time.

Unfortunately, Emcee, churches are the "body of Christ" made up of sinful people. So we tend to do worldly things. Being separate is one of them. Our culture is reflected in our churches. Also church doctrine, instead of the doctrine of Jesus Christ based on Scripture, is a root cause. There are other reasons also; the other Bloggers have answered. Press on, don't be discouraged. I heard recently that there are 23,300 different denominations in the world. I believe some were ordained and sanctioned by the Lord, while others came about thru man. How can we show true love (God's Love) and unity to a lost & dying world if we can't get on together. Sadly some Christians will not fellowship outside of their own denomination. We ALL need to forgive and love one another as Jesus commanded us to.

CONT. But if you mean a "different gospel" as Paul mentions in Galatians 1:6-9, then that person and/or place is no longer part of the Body of Christ! There are many churches I think have the wrong view of 'church government' or what will happen at Christ's return, but that shouldn't affect one's salvation. If a church says they do, I doubt that church knows what Biblical salvation is! We all need to look in Scritpure and find out what being a real Christian means.
---Daniel on 5/30/05

The One True Church; the Body of Christ is all Christians everywhere in the world. The church that YOU attend to worship the LORD with others, need not have any legal connection to any other congregation! We know there were already many churches in Paul's lifetime. Do you think they were all the same? No. The Gospel of Jesus, taught by the Apostles, had to be the same, but other than teaching the Word of God, I'm sure there were many minor differences between them. If, however, you mean... CONT.
---Daniel on 5/30/05

Denominations, pastors, teachers, lively church services, more sedate services, friends, personal preferences, some like particular doctrine, location.

It is an interesting study to see how the church has gotten to the place it is - not intended by Christ or the apostles..When we start to realize that we ARE the church, not just attend church, there comes true liberty in Christ.

Because we put emphasis on different scriptures we wish to worship with those of like mind. Churches have sprung up where predestination/total immersion etc. are important. Remember that the most important issue is that Jesus is who He said He is, that He died having no sin in Him whatsoever as a gift for US which we must accept if we want to be with Him in Eternity. If you attend a church that teaches these things, the other issues are less important and we'll never all agree on them anyway.

Some are loud and some are quiet. Like ice cream, different flavors, but all ice cream. It really depends on the pastor or leader, and what kind of Bible is being used. The true church is any one that worships Jesus Christ as the Savior and the Son of God, with signs following, and uses only the "HOLY" Bible (ie: GV or KJV).
