All who are born of the Spirit will never be condemned. Not a one. There is no terrorist going to heaven. Going to heaven, belongs to only those who trust in Jesus Christ by faith. No sin enters heaven. Reason, because when we die our flesh dies. No more sin. The spirit lives on forever with Christ. While we are alive, the flesh will continuely sin. It is a battle for every Christian. It does not stop until God calls your name.
---Mark_V. on 6/18/08

I am going to put on here, a flat yes. The road to heaven is paved with Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Unless you live a holy life you will never see God. Those who do the will of the Father are your saved people. All of this you will find in the word of God.

Lisa ... Can you help me with mine of 6/14?
It's all very well talking about suicide bombers, but they are the minority of suicides.
Most suicides are out of their normal mind.

Mat 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and they defile the man.

Mat 21:16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea, have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

lisa:

A fervent belief that one is doing things "in God's name" may be noble, but is not sufficient.

Jesus said at the final judgment, many will ask him "didn't we do many great works in your name?" and he will say "Get away from me you wicked men! I never knew you!"

(I imagine such a fate will befall people like the Inquisitors who tortured and murdered many innocents in the name of stamping out heresy. But we can't know for sure until we get to heaven.)
---StrongAxe on 6/16/08

Yes they are brainwashed, You would have to be, to think their will be 70 virgins waiting for you if you Kill infidels(Nonbelievers of the Islamic faith),
How could a person even begin to think God would Reward such Murderous behaviour.
It's ok though, Gods about to open the eyes of Many.
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 6/16/08

Suicide bombers are sometimes brainwashed and so their sin is not a result of their decision, but imposed by their environment. Some people are trapped in that environment and then given no way out. So, if those bombers go to Hell, the blame is on those who created the environment for them to be nurtured in. A political situation can create suicide bombers, like in Palestine.
---frances008 on 6/15/08

Satan came to steal kill and destroy. When somebody dies, only God knows the reason why that person died. Often suicides are just coverups for pharmaceutical 'errors' or for destroyed brains due to stress etc. God will judge accordingly. Why don't we just leave God to do the judging. The last thing bereaved families need to hear is that their 'suicided' family member also went to Hell, when nobody knows that for sure.
---frances008 on 6/15/08

Young people, old people, theologians, presidents, journalists and media moguls are faced with choices every day.

The devil will tempt even the brightest of theologians to take their life. He wants them to enter into condemnation, it's his job, the accuser of the brethern to make the mighty fall.

It's our job to tell others the truth.
---lisa on 6/15/08

To the grave yes!
---Carla5754 on 6/15/08

I disagree.

Suicide bombers believe it is an honorable act, bringing honor to their family and that in becoming a martyr for God, they will receive a position of honor in heaven.

They believe it is true with all of their hearts, and that they are following the true God.
---lisa on 6/15/08

Our faith in God is the strongest belief that most people have.

Their God and our God are very different.
They receive honor by taking their own life.

Our God honors us by our living.

Committing suicide is rejecting God at the moment of death. It is stark unbelief.
---lisa on 6/15/08

Politics is full of twists and turns, no absolutes.

God's Word is filled with absolutes. Many have considered them too absolute, so they start a new religion to "work" around them.
---lisa on 6/15/08

Hebrews 3, entire chapter

12 Beware lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.

13 Exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today", lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.
---lisa on 6/15/08

If you are relying on other people to make you strong, in a moment of weakness, you can fall victim.

18 To whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Taking your own life is stark unbelief.
---lisa on 6/15/08

Hebrews Chapter 4

1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest,
let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as them, but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

Heb 4:9

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

14 ..We have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,

but was in all points tempted as we are,
yet without sin.
---lisa on 6/15/08

People do not make me strong but Jesus Christ does.

The devil tempted Jesus to commit suicide, he used His own word, the word - Jesus personified against Him. Psalm 91.

Jesus used His Word against the devil, it is written. Jesus did not fall for his temptations.
Jesus is our example in all trials, temptations.
---lisa on 6/15/08

Suicide is far more than a bad idea or option, and it's not an easy way out.

It's a sin that will separate you from God.

God has given each of us a challenge to enter His rest. Jesus preached about the dangers of hardening the heart, you risk falling into unbelief.
Those who fall into unbelief cannot enter in to His rest.

Suicide is unbelief.
---lisa on 6/15/08

We have an advocate with the Father, He is just and faithful to forgive us when we repent of our sins.
You can't repent of suicide and pass from death unto life.

There is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus, walking after the Spririt and not the flesh, having confidence in Him until the end. They will receive their reward.

The bible certainly does talk about suicide, but this is the subject that no one wants to address.
So I'll cast out experiences in favor of the Word.

Without the Word, you'll find more excuses, more softening the perceived hard edges of God's absolutes, more softening the blow and every elaborate justification for the sin of suicide. None of them address the sin of unbelief.

lisa:

Suicide bombers typically try to inflict chaos and death. This directly contravenes "Love your neighbor as yourself".

Even if they mess up and kill only themselves, or believe they are doing it in the name of God, they can't get around "How can you love God whom you have not seen, if you hate your neighbor whom you have seen?".

So whether or not suicide is, in itself, wrong, their goose is already cooked in other much more important ways.
---StrongAxe on 6/15/08

lisa:

Don't get me wrong. I DEFINITELY believe that suicide is a Very Bad Idea, and is a dead end. However, like many other things that Christians today believe are sin, such beliefs are extrapolations, because the Bible doesn't actually talk about it.

Final questions...

Does a suicide bomber go to heaven?

What if a suicide bomber misses and only takes their own life - does the suicide bomber go to heaven?

God is no respector of persons.
---lisa on 6/14/08

There were two people living in sin. The man in the church told them there going to hell.
Instead of waiting for God, they took there lifes. Who go to hell? Dont answer this please just think on it. The things that are Gods are Gods. Do not judge be not judged.
---Frank on 6/14/08

Telling the truth is not being self-righteous.
I'm not going to quit telling the truth about self-murder.
It there's one person out there that happens to query about suicide, up pops CN, I hope it stops them from following through with it.

Suicide is not an option, but a dead-end road. It is not a highway to heaven.
It's not an easy way out - it's a death that will never bring peace to a soul.
---lisa on 6/14/08

How many funerals have you attended where the person has followed through?
Do you remember the atmosphere in the room?
There is no peace, no matter how long the preacher tries to preach them into heaven.

You hear very few messages preached anymore about how to resist the devil when faced with temptation of every kind.
You never hear about what happens to those to take the devil's word over God's Word, choosing death over life.
You don't hear about standing against the wiles of the devil, and how to enforce his defeat - not letting him talk you into going back to the carnal realm.
---lisa on 6/14/08

To patronize someone afterwards is almost as bad as never telling them the truth in the first place... about what suicide does to a person and their loved ones that are left behind.

We don't hear about how to quench all of the fiery darts of the wicked one. He is a thief and a robber, and we wrestle not against flesh and blood. People are too busy talking about "church unity" and their mission statements to concern themselves with the difficult trials.
---lisa on 6/14/08

Yes. Suicide sends you to hell.

When someone makes excuses for it, more elaboration usually follows each time the excuse is told. In your heart, you know it's wrong, but people nod their heads and agree. Yes, poor Joe, he's finally getting the rest he couldn't find on earth.
But that's not true.
---lisa on 6/14/08

I'm not going to quit telling the truth. As I did my dishes today, God reminded me of other people that I had forgotten about, who killed themselves.
A dad who sat in the garage, three kids from high school, others...
There is no peace associated with those memories, no peace during the funeral and heartache for the family.

God also reminded me that martyrdom does not include suicide.

When God talks of those who will be martyrs, most of us claim that surely we would be glad to die for Jesus, but that doesn't mean suicide.
---lisa on 6/14/08

When you die in the line of duty, saving others from fire or taking the bullet, or a missionary that is killed because of Christ, that doesn't mean suicide.

Suicide does not have a martyr's reward. There is no reward for taking your own life.
That's not self-righteous, it is the truth.
---lisa on 6/14/08

Yes, and it puts a mothers and fathers through hell that have to go to the morgue to identify their children.
Children that are barely identifiable from gunshot wounds. Parents that must get clothes together, put arrangements together.
Yes. Suicide is sin.
Quit listening to the devil, and teach your children how to stand against the wiles of the devil. Don't identify yourself with him and how much he hates you. He sits in the corner and laughs.
Resist him, and he must flee.

Commiting Suicide, is NOT Enduring until the End, as God told us to do.
IT'S giving up on ones self because of lifes circumstances!
When i was 13, my mom tried to kill herself and she had to stay in a Hosp. for a few months, They gave her Elec. Shock theropy for mental illness.
I'm glad i came home that day and found her before she died, She's turned out to be a Good woman that Loves the Lord.

Lisa ...I am sorry to say that you just do not know what you are talking about.
You have clearly never suffered depression (which is more than just feeling fed up)
You say "I'm not suicidal and would never consider it an option"
Someone in depression has no ability to consider anything.
As I said before "I pray that you never suffer the deep depths of depression where you are aware of nothing (not even God)"
---alan_of_UK on 6/14/08

I'm not using my thoughts, I'm using God's word.
God's words are the only words of life.
The devils words are death.

God gave mankind authority in the Name of Jesus to enforce the devil's defeat.

The devil was never able to tempt Jesus Christ again to commit suicide after Jesus used God's Word against him, it is written.
He did tempt Jesus not to go to the Cross, but Jesus didn't fall for that one either.
---lisa on 6/14/08

Lisa you are self righteous. You say that you have been giving us the WORD when it is coming back to you and you do not recognize it. I am not angry at you and have never had a relative commit suicide. You don't know the people you condemn. God sees individuals while you see sin in general. I do admire your conviction but think you're too wrapped up in it so it blinds you. Jesus died for sin.
---jody on 6/14/08

I don't think you could not go to hell for it as the Bible says though shall not kill (murder) if you kill yourself you can't repent of the sin so how could you not go there? You are putting yourself in God's place.Only HE has a right to say when you die.

I'm not suicidal and would never consider it an option. It's not an option, it's sin.
---lisa on 6/14/08

I gave you the Word. If more people would cast away experience in favor the Word, maybe we would see fewer suicides.

Few people have the boldness to tell the truth. Softening the blows, taking away all of the hard edges is perferred over telling the truth about self-murder, suicide.

If you been around any length of time on earth, you'll encounter a family or friend that has lost someone to suicide.

God says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Quit listening to the devil.

It is written...
Get behind me, satan...
Archangel Michael told satan, The Lord Rebuke you, Satan.

God has not left us helpless or without remedy for the temptations from the devil, including suicide.
---lisa on 6/14/08

These aren't my ideas. The devil used Psalm 91 to tempt Jesus into committing suicide.

I know you probably wouldn't have this anger if you did not already know someone who committed the act of self-murder. It's a very difficult experience to get over.
---lisa on 6/14/08

Lisa, are you suicidal? You have it all figured out but your thoughts only apply to yourself. Do not condemn others. Do be careful in what you condemn. I pray for the desperate souls who carry through with suicide. I believe that God CAN forgive them just as he can forgive a murderer, liar, or anyone else. Do you think that if a bro/sis dies in a sudden accident and is Christian but has not prayed for daily sins that the person goes to Hell for lack of repentance and petion for forgiveness? No.?.:)

This is to Rebecca D.

Ma'am, you will go to Hell if you die today. You are NOT saved, you never were saved. You are CLEARLY trusting in your own works. Not Jesus' finished work. I could also show you saints who killed themselves.TRUST JESUS ALONE.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin.

For those who insist that blasphemy against the the Holy Spirit is rejecting Jesus Christ rather than attributing the gifts of the Holy Spirit to the devil - can't have it both ways.

Luke 13:3, 2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise....not willing that any should perish...but that ALL should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night...
be diligent to be found by Him in peace,
without spot and blameless.

There is no forgiveness without repentance.

Casting out God's Word in favor of experience.

Jesus taught that forgiveness must be preceded by our repentance. Without it there can be no forgiveness. Luke 13:3, 2 Peter 3:9.

Luke 13:3 Jesus said, "I tell you, no: but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."

Jesus once spoke about the "unforgivable sin". He said that every sin and blasphemy would be forgiven, but that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit would not be forgiven (Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:29, Like 12:10). He never mentioned suicide as an unforgivable sin.

1)
Well said Frances008!

2)
In the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 we find that the Word of God did not come to fruition in all that heard the Word. Why not? Perhaps we could help with the tilling in the plowing department that the seed (word) will take strong root rather than pass condemnation after the fact? There are "weaker vessels of flesh and blood" and there are weaker vessels of spirit.

Lisa ...# 1 .. Sin is sin ... no small ones, no big ones, they are not graded.
If you died suddenly whilst sinning, would you go to Hell? The Bible does not say so.

Suicide is committing murder. Thou shall not kill. Anyone in their right mind that commits suicide is breaking this commandment willingly. What about the mentally ill? Martin Luther said something about a boy suffering depression being overcome by Satan.Satan goes after the weak and we know in this world we don't win ever battle between good and evil.Thank God He is merciful! Who knows what kind of lies satan whispers to someone who is suffering mental illness. I know personally and I survived!

We can make every excuse in the book for others. They were extremely depressed, under a doctor's care, it was the pharmacy's fault, they didn't mean to sit in the garage, the gun misfired, the car slid over the cliff..they had to jump.
Devil wanted Jesus to jump, He did not.

Fight the fight, stay in the race and whatever you do, don't quit.

Murder can be repented of, but suicide cannot.

For people who have family members that have committed suicide, this can be the hardest thing to reconcile with God. Many refuse to accept it, and never ever look at it.
It is passed over, the preacher makes an attempt to preach them into heaven at the funeral.
The loved one is talked of fondly, they're in heaven now and finally at peace.

No, they are not.

Suicide as the worst option is not an option but a sin of self-murder that results in hell.

I've been to these kinds of funerals. I've been to closed casket funerals of young teenagers that shoot themselves because the boyfriend or girlfriend broke it off. They felt this was an option. It was not and we need to tell others the truth.

Suicide is a rejection of God. We are all born with the knowledge that God exists.
God's said that He placed the knowledge of eternity inside each one of us.

We cannot make excuses of deep depression as an acceptable option to kill ourselves.
We need to tell everyone the truth.

God is the Righteous Judge and He will judge righteously, but it would going against His own Word to reward someone, who did not fight the good fight, gave in to temptation and the devil, killing themselves.

We can't preach someone into heaven and we can't preach them out of hell, when they're gone.

Casting out God's Word in favor of experience.
Our experiences, someone else's experience with depression - whatever the circumstances or experience, we cannot cast out God's Word in favor of softening the blow.

The Word of God is truth. Jesus is the Word personified. God has a Godly government. To commit suicide is to reject Jesus Christ at the moment of death. There is no reward for that.

I've been to the funeral of another teenage son of a best friend. He did it for his girlfriend.

Suicide is self-murder.

Lisa, we must leave it to God to judge people. We can state, rightly, that suicide is the worst option, but we cannot tell what was influencing the person to do it, like some massive traumas one after another, the effect of constant bullying, living with characters who are gone the way of the devil and try to destroy your character, and so on. Surely judgement is reserved for those who do the evil, not the victims.

Devil tempted Jesus Christ to kill Himself.
Devil even used Psalm 91 against Jesus to tempt Him into committing suicide.

Why? Because devil wanted power over Jesus Christ. He hasn't given up the fight for authority, which he no longer has any of.

You will lose your soul and salvation when you commit suicide. Devil works hard against weaker vessels of flesh and blood. He wants people to carry through. Suicide is his preference, because it gives him legal access to take a soul to hell.
