To me everyone should be praying all the time not just when something goes wrong or they are asking for something that they need. Prayer should be an everyday thing.

Unceasingly. When ever God puts something on your heart to pray about. Whenever you think of a blessing in your life, thank God for it. There is no formula to satisfactory prayer. Point being, God is always listening, and is always waiting with his arms wide open.

I generally find myself praying all day, I am up against alot of hard stuff in life, and I find that when I pray, I feel empowered to get through the day, then I walk in the bathroom and I find I am still praying but then think, maybie I should stop now. HA HA ...

If you are born-again---All of the time, you had better pray. Haven't you heard, the Devil, well He hates you.

As often as possible, you cannot switch God off and carry on with your day as if He doesn't exist, if you truely have a dependant- personal relationship with Him.

How many times a day do I pray? I don't even know. Praying should be like breathing. you do it without thinking. I pray by the power of the Holy Spirit, when I pray out loud. If you pray by the power of the Holy Spirit it can never be considered pride. The closet scripture is just one way we can pray. So many weak Christians are ashamed to go out in public and talk out loud to God. There is also a scripture that tells us to shout it from the house tops. Now, [that scripture I love.]

The Bible says we are to pray without ceasing.(Eph. 6:18; I Thess. 5:17) There are a lot of scriptures on prayer. There are several types of prayers. The most important thing I've learned about prayer is - it is communicating with our Lord - when we have guestions, petitions, praises, thanksgivings...

to have a close relationship with someone we need spend time with the person so much more we should spend time with God who is our Saviour and friend and died for us in our sake. try to spend time with God as much as you can, it is worthy of everything.

Without ceasing.

Hello Jack, prayer is simply communicating with your heavenly father. Talk (pray) with Him as often as you desire. Of course, the Bible says pray without ceasing.
---jackee on 7/21/05

The Bible says pray without ceasing, but it also speaks of praying in closets-in other words privately. Just be careful not to make the time you spend in prayer everybody's business because it then becomes an issue of pride.

The Bible says to pray without ceasing.

Jack, the bible offers you an answer. It says to pray on all occasions.
---lisa on 6/20/05

Jack: Prayer is pouring out your heart to God as to a close friend. There is no time, place or circumstance where prayer is inappropriate.

Jack the bible tells us to pray with out ceasing. I pray all day asking for his help and guideness and his peace his traving mercies and just when I need to talk to someone or need confort or answers.
---Kathy on 6/18/05

We are encouraged to pray without ceasing. To me that means that all day I should enter into communion with my God as I would do with my wife either to praise him with thanksgiving or to ask him for help to deal with a problem I may have or to just say HI and GLAD YOUR BY MY SIDE!
---Pierr7958 on 6/17/05

Pray without ceasing. Never stop praying. I pray all day long. I pray when I am driving for safe traveling mercies. I pray each morning when son leaves for school for his safety. I pray each day for his renewed strength. I pray each night for his protection and peace. I pray for my email pals daily. I pray for those who do not know why I pray or whom I pray to.

Luke 21:36 Rom 1:9 Eph 6:18 1Thes 5:17
I talk to the Lord in my thoughts when I am sewing at work, walking, at home, at church.
Anywhere, any time in our spirit we can praise, worship, ask, thank the Lord. John 4:24

I prayed once because our smoke detector, which is hooked into our hydro, wouldn't stop going off, and it was driving us nutso. I was standing there with a fan blowing on it to shut it up, and praying for help, when there was a knock on the door. A serviceman had been installing one in the unit next door, heard ours keep going off, and said he would replace ours. For some reason, he just happened to throw a 2nd one on the truck before he left. Does God know our needs before we do or what?
---Ann5758 on 6/17/05

All the time. Whenever something or someone comes to mind, just say a couple words to the Lord about them/it, and thank Him for answers.
---Ann5758 on 6/17/05

Dear Jack: "Pray continually" (1Thessalonias5:17). Whenever a thought, idea or urging from the Holy Spirit comes, just pray. Sometimes when I see something beautiful or hear a wonderful song or hear good news or read scripture, etc., I say outloud, "Thank you Jesus." That is a form of prayer and praise to our heavenly Father. The closer we come to the image and likeness of Jesus, the more we pray. It's wonderful! Heaven is present when we speak and listen to God! Blessings!

When things are bad and when things are good. Remember God at all times, not only when we have troubles.

I was working on an visiting evanglist's motorhome (installing a cruise control). Helping me was an electrical technican. I had done this many times before. This night we worked all night trying to figure out why we could not get it to work. As dawn broke, we stopped to pray about it specifically.

It was like someone turned on a lightbulb. Instantly it came to my mind "This is a fiberglass body. We need to run a seperate ground wire. (duh) A few minutes later it was fully operational.

Prayer is more than just words. It is an attitude. It is a constant awareness of an utter dependence on God. It is a constant acknowledgment of God's soverignity in our lives.
It is also asking for specific things and needs to be met. It is worship, it is intercession.

No wonder Paul said 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."

And Jesus taught Luke 18:1, "A... men ought always to pray, and not to faint (not to give up praying)"
