The bible says that God Knows everything the present past and future. Then why did he let man do what He did not want.

God does not give humans permission to sin. To have nonfreethinking and nonfreedoing or robots precisely duplicating yourself is vain and boring: but to have creatures with their own minds and wills to be able to make their own choices, and then when they freely choose good and right and obedience, that brings great pleasure for the Creator.
---Eloy on 9/26/09

Justa, God designed the plan exactly as He wanted. And since He is outside of time, nothing unfold's before His eyes that He has not seen already, since He designed it. Everything unfolds to us humans because we are creatures of time. God allowed man freedom and knew that through that freedom he would fail since He designed us with that capability when He gave Adam and Eve a chose, that too was by design. He didn't have to but He righteously did.
And since He knows everything already, He permits things to go on because sin is still in the world. God has already set a time when there will be no more sin. With no more sin, no more freedom of will, because we are not going to be capable of sinning anymore, only worshipping God.
---MarkV. on 8/19/09

what is the bible? and could you define god for me please? or is that even possible considering the concept of god has to be so expansive, and words are always so limiting. plus, how do we know what god knows? maybe god is beyond time and space and as such is beyond knowledge, since you can't have knowledge without time and space. or can you? maybe god is everything, and nothing. maybe we humans think we're more important than we really are. everyone is so sure that the world had to have a maker, and thus a god. again that problem with knowledge, time, space, thought, and action...as though the universe has to work using our simple minded principals. stop talking about god. stop thinking. just stop. then see what happens.

Love always gives a choice. If there had been no choice, God could not have been love. No free will leaves us all robots with no choice but to serve God...but He desires for us to love Him because we want to, not because we have to.

I like your thoughts however I was wondering if you had any scripture to back this up. Thanks
---Danielle on 2/13/07

God gave us free-will to serve Him with all our hearts. He wanted us to serve Him because we want to, not because we are forced to - like a robot.
---Leslie on 1/7/07

God created man to worship him and fellowship with. He did not create a robot or puppit. It would mean nothing if that were the case. Sadly, man chose to defy God and created the mess of a world we now have. Even that didn't stop GOD from loving us enough to give us another out - Jesus dying for us. He (GOD)has given man every opportunity and change to come back to him. He loves us that much in spite of how much we hurt him.

That everything good in a believer comes from above, even here Christians want to take credit that they are good because of what they have done. So it is a problem for many that feel they have something to do with their own salvation. I said pride because it is a prideful heart that will not give the glory to God.
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

verse 4 tells us who gives, "But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear." You see, they could hear with their own ears and see with their own eyes, but not able to understand because God had not given them that understanding. You see, this is a problem for many because of their free will. They want to be the determining factor in their own salvation. How can they have faith if God has given it to them? And God tells us
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

You can read all Scripture and if read in its whole context you will see to whom the ear is given and the eye to see and the understanding of God. It all comes from God and not from man. If you go to Deuteronomy chapter 29:2. You will see that Moses is giving the terms of the covenant, and He says,"Your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials and to all his land. With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those miraculous signs and great wonders.
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

As you can see in Chapter 13, if you read the whole context you will see that the Apostles have been given the knownledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven but not to the others. It had nothing to do with free will. It had to do with whom God wanted to give the knowledge to. even as you read the hearing ear and the eye to see was given them. Though seeing, they do not see, though hearing, they do not hear or understand. Why? because it was not given to them.
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

If you read closely, Jesus says, in verse 27, "and no one knows the Father except," here you can see who knows the Father understanding, "The Son" and "Those" to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. If you go to Matthew 13 and read the reason that Jesus mentions His word in parables, you will see that Jesus starts in 11, by saying," The knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them." It all comes from God.
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

If you start reading from verse 20 you can see that Jesus had began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. Jesus mentioned two kinds of people in His prayer, the wise-arrogant in their own knownledge and the little children-humbly open to receive the truth of God's Word. Realizing that only God holds all the answers.
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

Reading the whole context is so important. Jesus speaking to the unbelievers, or believers, are the apostles is so important. we need to know who and why He was saying what He was saying. The unbeliever will not go to Him because he does not seek God. The one's that receive the ear to hear and the eye to see will respond to Christs calling. The others don't. Who gives them the ear and eye to see? God. Who gives them the faith to believe? God.
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. All things have been commited to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son choosees to reveal Him." The Son chooses to reveal Him to the one's Jesus is speaking to in verse 28 that are weary and burden.

I know how you feel about this because many think like you do Alan, and they see a verse and jump to conclusions real fast to justify their believe. But, I will ask you to read the verses before the one you gave and see who Jesus is speaking to and why he is telling them what is going to happen to them that do not repent. In chapter 11:25, you will see that Jesus is talking to the Father, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise
---Lupe2618 on 7/5/05

Jesus said "Come unto me all who are weary and are heavy laden ... "
He did not say "I will selct those to who I will give rest" It was an invitation to all ... no qualification at all. So anyone can come to Him. That sounds as if it is our decision to go to Him. Not a decision made in pride as you suggest, but in humility. I do not see how Jesus can make all these wonderful promises, and then behind the scenes, decide to whom He will give the grace so that they can respond

I thank the Lord for teaching me, and giving me an insight into His plan, His Nature and all His attributes, plus the Providences and decrees that He exercises in His plan. I do not have all the answers and I am glad that I don't because it keeps me searching for more of God. There is two systems of believe in the modern church. Reform and Arminianism. Many's starting point is from man's fall, others from man's redemption, and the others from God.

I have studied about Islam for two years so I know a little about that. I don't know much about other denominations because I don't think its important for me to use my time learning about what each one is. I have studied the Sovereignty of God doctrine for five years. It's deals with God's Sovereign right to rule, God's ultimate intention, God's plan for the world and how He will accomplish it. All for His glory.

I hear many Christians criticize certain things but they never studied it and yet they speak wrong about something they don't understand. I don't say anything about Mormons, because I never studied it, it would be wrong for me to say something wrong if I don't even know the way the believe. I heard a lot of things from others against but don't know for myself. I have studied Jehovah Witness for four years so I know about that. I have studied Catholicism for two years and once was one.
---Lupe2618 on 7/4/05

Alan, almost every answer that I give concerns God's Sovereignty. I answer some personal but the others, all of them I want to make it clear that God is the one that rules and it is by Him that we have our being. With me it is always about God and never about man. I know where my place is in life. I know who I was and who I am only because of Christ. I know others are so proud and speak against God's sovereignty yet they have never studied it. I never speak bad about something I don't understand.
---Lupe2618 on 7/4/05

Hello Alan, I just got back from a few days vacation for fourth of July. I wanted to check on what you said and I have time to write something. You mention that I say that faith comes from God, Well, I don't say it, God says it. I think the passages in scripture to that are clear. Eph. 2:8-9. Let me say something else Alan, I understand that many Christians have a problem with this passages. This are not the only ones but others too, because they come in conflict with what they believe.
---Lupe2618 on 7/4/05

Alan, I would like to help in some way. What has become one of those problems? I do not understand what part and maybe I can answer you. If you explain what section of scripture.

Lupe ... what you say comes back to what is a continuing problem for me.
You say that it is God who gives us the faith, so it seems then that God chooses those o whom He will give that faith ... in fact He chose who will beleive, accept Christ and be saved.
That sounds like hard-line predestination, and leaves no room for free-will.
---Alan8869_of_UK on 7/2/05

Elsie, where did you get that faith to love Him? When were you able to see since when lost you were blind. you speak of Robots, man always does, he always has an answer why he choose Christ. Did you all of a sudden develope life, faith and vision? Remember you were separated from God without hope, Dead, and blind, and a slave to sin, how did you wake up from that sleep? You see sister, it takes an act of God first. He saves you, you don't save yourself.
---Lupe2618 on 7/1/05

Dear Justa: My dear, God didn't want to create robots who were under orders to praise and worship Him. So He gave us a free will and much of the time we are a big disappointment to our Lord. When we accept Him in our hearts through His Son Jesus Christ, then indeed all the angels of heaven praise Him together with us who believe.....because we choose to love Him with all our hearts!
---Elsie on 6/27/05

Lupe, I agree that God gives us our faith.
Romams 12:3 10:17
We are save by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:5-8 4:7 1Timothy 1:14 2Timothy 1:9.
I thank and praise God for giving me a believing heart. I don't understand how or why God has mercy (not giving me what I deserve) and grace (giving me what I do not deserve), but I think it is because of His Love. John 3:16

I begged Him to make a new person of me. I asked Him to forgive me for all the wrong I had done in my life. I don't do this answers for myself. I do it for others to see that it is God who saves us. Not ourselves.
---Lupe2618 on 6/24/05

believeing we had something to do with our salvation. We don't change and become different Christians. We don't lose our salvation, all we do is give the Glory to our Lord and Savior. If you or anyone is able to explain how you get that faith that made you a believer without it coming from God, I will then check all Scriptures and admit I am wrong. I thank Almighty God for my salvation because I know for a fact that God had mercy on me when I was in the gutter. and all I could was reach out to His hand.
---Lupe2618 on 6/24/05

because I sure don't believe it, and you can lose your salvation, then pride is going to stop many from going in. The same pride that Satan had. That is the only way I can see it. You see, since we are saved already, we lose nothing by believing we are saved by God, what we can do is something we could not do before, and that is, give all the Glory to our merciful God for our salvation. What is wrong with giving our whole selves to God and been humble? or do we keep the pride
---Lupe2618 on 6/24/05

that is why Scripture keeps letting us know what to do, because we now know Truth. We now have the hearing ear and the eye to see. Scripture is for the believer to edify us as God speaks through His word. The lost don't even want to read it and if they do, they cannot discern it. No Holy Spirit no God.
Here is another thing to think about for all the one's that think when saved you can still lose your salvation due to sin when dying. If it is true, and I say,"If"

The lie is that when we keep thinking it was because of us, we Rob God of His glory. Yes, we are saved and continue to have pride to death. We rob God of the glory that so rightly belongs to Him. Without His grace we would still be lost. Because of His love for us we are able to have something we don't even deserve. When man is lost, he cannot love someone (Christ) he doesn't see. Since the fall, we had been slaves to sin with no love for God and no hope. But now that we are saved we do have a free will,
---Lupe2618 on 6/24/05

Man's inclination is to do evil all of the time, or else maybe not all of the time as you might think. I wonder what you and others do with all the verses that say we are saved by grace and nothing we do, or when Jesus tells us that God chose us, and that God enabled the unbeliever in order for him to be His. You see, pride is what makes man think that it was his doing and not God's. Even when saved, man still takes credit. You know what the big Lie is?
---Lupe2618 on 6/24/05

that even our good deeds are sin. They are done from pride, and more is added to our account. Paul tells us there is nothing good in us. Not one thing are else we could boast by having it. It is when we realize that we have nothing to give God that we become humble. Even the faith to believe comes from Him and not man. How can man believe if he doesn't have that faith? It does not come from man, so how can anyone take credit for something they never had to begin with.
---Lupe2618 on 6/24/05

Brother Pierr, I was going to avoid the question this time, but because I saw how you worded your answer, I had to respond. I finally agree with your position but in a different way. It is a big cooked up idea by satan to allow believers to think that it was because of their free will that they made a commitment to the Lord. You see when a person believes that way it shows their pride. Grace is a free gift from God. We don't deserve it. When lost we have so much sin in our account

If you TOLD someone to love you, and they did just because they were told to, would you feel that it was genuine? Or would you rather have someone love you out of their own CHOICE and free will? You can't force someone to love you, it has to be from the heart. It's the same with God. You can make a good show of it by following ritual because that's the thing to do, but it won't be lasting unless you have a personal relationship with the Lord.
---Janet7433 on 6/23/05

In my opinion, it's not free will that's the issue....because all animals have a free will to do what they want. What separates us is that we have a conscience....which is the moral and ethical judgment of our conduct.

So I think the question is...why give man a conscience? Well, it certainly makes for a very interesting world.
---Eg on 6/23/05

The Bilble tells us about God and what his will is. We can accept His plan of salvation or reject it. Romans 6:23
All through the Bible man was justified by faith.
Romans 3:22,28 5:1,2 10:17 12:3
1cor 2:5 Gal 2:16 3:26 Eph 2:8 Hebrews 11:1-39 12:2
I think He gives us a choice so we are not like robots or pupits on a string.
I trust God's widsom on what is the best way for Him to handle his creation.
---Ulrika on 6/23/05

Man was born in a state of free will, But it be in a state of free will is to be in a state of rebellion against God. We must repent and be willing to abandon free will and choose God's plan for our lives. If you are among the Elect there is a plan for you. If you were born as a reprobate, God my use or not your existence is some manor but you were never preordained for salvation.

Let's face it! It is difficult to reconcile:
FOREKNOWLEDGE AND FREE WILL. It takes FAITH!
1.God does know everything! but I can't say how.
2. God gives us free will because he is LOVE and in a LOVE relationhip there is no room for FORCE!
Don't try to figure it all out or Satan will instill doubt in you by making you think it is all a big cooked up deal to make Him look good!
---Pierr7958 on 6/23/05

When it says that God gives us free will it means God gives you the ability to make a choice to do good or bad just like when you chose to dedicate your life to Christ and be saved you didn't have to but you chose to. It is all about the choices that we make. Also when we make choices especially bad ones there is a penalty like breaking the law.
