Hello thankyou Bro.Mark always respect for you & everyone here. You certainly, are right! Amen. Thankyou for your prayers, too!
we got to have our faith always in the Lord. He can do what no one else can do! No matter how dark it seems, how we may feel,or what people say or think.
---Lidia4796 on 10/10/13

Sis. Lidia, do not be surprised how things are going around you. Or how people act towards you and others. That is happening all over the world. That is what a fallen world is. It does not get any better, as time goes on man continue to sin to change things around us. We are believers have to hold to our faith. Know that no matter what man does, God is in control and will take care of you. Don't trust the world or man, only God. Man always fail, God never fails. Peace I leave you sister.

Whenever someone says this I always point them to 1 kings 19:18. They lived under Ahab, but 7000 had not turned to the Baals

It's a mistake to think children can't grow until they reach a certain age.
Schools separate children based on age, and churches have different classes for children based on age. There is no exit strategy So, the older children exit the church door when they are old enough to drive. They were kicked out of real church for so long it becomes habit to leave.
The parents are asking, why dont they go to church meetings any more? Answer is they were never in the real church meetings.
They were raised to go out of the adult meeting, so when they get older that's what they do.
Raising a child in the way he should go doesn't mean sending them out of real church to watch Veggie Tales. That's called sacred babysitting.

There are two good articles by Frederica entitled "What is worship for?"

You can read them on her web site.

lidia, Christianity is a minority now. we are laughed at, called holy rollers, cult and other things. they can call me what they want to. can you imagine how great our country would be if Obama was a Christian? on the flip side of that, look at our country now. Christians are laughed at now. isn't that a shame?
---shira4368 on 10/2/13

Hello,Shira4368,Bro.Steveng most people this area are into " illegal lifestyles" tell the truth. There are even people "attend " church, still do it,too.
People are very afraid here to go out. Years bk they gave bible study in the Burger king, they put them out ..

There is a local coffee shop but, the area now, so bad people are afraid to go there like before... they close early.I keep pray for this..

I have talk to other christians but, they just lie never call nor show up... say " their pastor do not allow it", or also, most women are married and you know single women can't hang with married women.
Nobody cares much here.. Satan has a stronghold but God is faithfull
I never give up!

all my friends are Christian and I don't know my neighbors. for a small town with 1 redlight, neighbors do not know each other.
---shira4368 on 9/29/13

shira, lidia, this would be a great opportunity to invite your neighbors for tea and pastry and to share the gospel.
---Steveng on 9/29/13

lidia, it is a shame you haven't found anyone to share bible with you. will anyone in your church study and pray with you? actually, there isn't anyone who will study with me or pray with me. the members of our church live so far away from each other. my church is 16 miles from where I live now. so I study by myself.
---shira4368 on 9/29/13

Hello,Bro.Steveng all respect to you.
I pray the day come, I agree!

I can't even find one person to have with me,prayer, bible study - eatery, or at the park .
Folks "caught up" in either SIN/or "bling - bling" worldly churches it's like a fashion show, many "you got to be in the clique" denominations, too"

the first primitive believers in the bible, that' how they met in homes,
where ever..
---Lidia4796 on 9/28/13

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, and they shall turn away their ears from the truth,...

Most people join churches because of what a particular denominational church provides: entertainment, activities, etc. Many christians are church jumpers until they find a church they like or fits their personality.

Find a bible that is searchable for the words "one another", "each other", "comfort", and "encourag" to find the real purpose of living a christian lifestyle. for wherever two or more are gathered there shall Jesus be whether it's a park, a street corner, cafe, or your home.

lidia, all the kids see on television is sex, lies, skimpy clothes. that is what most are raised in. you are right, they don't know any better and its like everyone is doing is so I can too. the churches are so dead and without the Spirit of God. most know rock music in church ....if they go. its a shame our young generation will never experience the moving of the Holy Spirit.
---shira4368 on 9/27/13

Shira4368, you really amaze me! you bring it "home" these kids DO NOT hear so, much as "REAL Old time Sold out To Jesus music", they get like you say " entertainment" when in reality Their SOUL is at stake. They hear about all this stuff, the world offers Not down it but, let's be for real...

no one should be conned in going to church. I started to answer and my computer just went to another page. one thing wrong with churches today is they entertain. our teens need to learn they can be saved. our teens don't have good role models. of course we know Hollywood is no roll model for anyone. sports players are the worst kind of people to be roll models.

Why do people need to be conned to go to church?
---Steveng on 9/26/13

The meaning of church is completely different today than it was two thousand years ago.

Today's church is nothing more than a building with furniture, statues, paintings, and other assets. Even by the way people talk about church saying: "I didn't see you in church today," or "We have great activities at our church," or "You should join our church, we have better entertainment [or add your own reason].

The church at Jesus' time were simply people, christians. Do an online KJV bible search for "one another", "each other", "comfort", and "encourag" to find the true christian lifestyle.
---Steveng on 9/26/13

joe, don't call anyone else bitter, your post is the worst I've ever seen. if you are an atheist, then you was never saved to begin with. a born again Christian is far from ever being an theist. you act like Christians are suppose to be perfect. well, just like you, no one is perfect. I love being in church with God's people. they are brothers and sisters and if you don't get saved, you are gonna spend eternity in hell. its a shame your parents efforts are in vain.

"christianity would be great without christians"

You've got it in reverse. It's not Christians, it's Christianity I can't stand. I respect you and your right to your beliefs but I don't have to respect the beliefs themselves.
---Joe_Bigliogo on 9/26/13

My life is much happier now like a huge weight has been lifted off me so consolations or prayers are not welcome.
---Joe_Bigliogo on 7/3/12

i am glad the weight is off you. christianity would be great without christians.

however, one thing strikes me about what you said. if you are so happy, what makes the difference if anyone wishes you condolences or offers to pray for you? honestly, you come of as a little bitter.

no mind though...your wish is my command.
---aka on 7/7/12

I no longer attend church. I have gradually reached the point where I reject the very axioms of Christianity. Too many times while in church with my parents I had to leave for fear I might scream out in rage at the pastor, so offensive was his bigoted and narrow minded preaching. I am now a confirmed atheist. My life is much happier now like a huge weight has been lifted off me so consolations or prayers are not welcome.
---Joe_Bigliogo on 7/3/12

Your blog is not really a question because you answered it very well yourself, listing a number of fine youth directed activities which successful churches use to attract and keep the youth. The more general way to keep the youth is to give them a chances to lead out and not to be too critical if they make mistakes but to encourage them always!

I sing with soundtracks (music without words). It is mostly Southern gospel and worship songs. I also started a while back signing to worship songs, it got the teens (what little we have) intertested. If the church has a routine or a schedule that they go by, then after awhile it will get boring. I don't like going to churches where what their doing is wrote down before hand. to me it is putting a limit on God and tying his hands to where he can't move.
---Rebecca_D on 3/9/07

Many churches fail the youth of today because they refuse to "break the mold" and do something different. Want teens in church? Make church relevant and exciting for them. You cannot improve on the gospel message, but it can be delivered in many, many ways and shouldn't be limited by older people who are stuck in their ways. Contemporary worship music, drama, dance, outside activities should all be introduced. There must be viable, fun alternatives to the world's drinking/drug party life!
---Crystal on 3/9/07

How do we gather youth in church? Do what Jesus told us to do. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). Then, people will get saved and come to church.
---Bill on 3/9/07

I attend church where there are so many youth that it literally blows my mind! The music at church is contemporary with keyboard, guitar, drums and the music is great (not wild or rap type) and that means a lot to the teenagers plus the dynamic youth ministry has a lot to do with it as well...give the kids something to look forward to and you have got the makings for a successful youth ministry...try a coffee house type of ministry as creative above everything else!

Our entire worship service includes guitars, drums, trumpets, keyboards, flute, and tamborines. This is every Sunday, not on special occassions.

cont:During the summer they take missions trips. They also go on a bike ride from Pennsylvania to the Jersey shore.

There are also all-nighters that are held at bowling alleys and in the church hall where there are games and activities and music and the Bible.
---Madison on 7/24/05

My youth pastor has a huge paintball thing in the woods for an entire weekend. There is always a Bible lesson to go with the activities, and it is an evangelistic outreach with church members donating money for scholarships for kids to attend. We also donate food for the kids and youth staff to eat. There are at least 100 kids that come out, churched and nonchurched. Weeks before the event, the youth pastor hands out unsaved kids' names for the church members to pray for to attend and accept Christ.
---Madison on 7/24/05

I have been to my church on youth lead days. and I didn't think it was bad, but the older "class" didn't like it and some got up and left, because it wasn't from the hymm books. My chuch has youth night, sunday school. a drama "club" where there are plays practiced and preformed on either Sunday or youth night. they have their own band that plays youth night. right now there is a color compition going on. I am to old for it but I think points for learning verses could get in that.
