Christians Observe Jewish Holidays

I was reading the bible & noticed that Jewish people still follow the festivals God talked about in the book LEV. In todays world many people are adopting national holidays made by man, instead of remembering what God has sent. If we truly follow God , then why follow man on these holidays?

There is a place for religious holidays and for secular ones (What American wouldn't want the 4th of July to exist, even if they don't choose to celebrate it?)

But it'd be pretty silly to celebrate any religious holidays that aren't your own, unless you are celebrating them with relatives/friends.

Christians are not under the same obligations as the Jews. We are not compelled to follow their traditions and holidays. We are to pray for the Jews and support them in what they do, if we so choose. In Psalm 122 we are told to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. In obedience to God, we will be blessed, in whatever we do for the Jews. They are God's chosen and called out people of God.

The Lord Yeshua (meaning salvation in Hebrew) kept the feasts too, e.g. Passover (is in truth the breaking of Bread-the Lord's Body, and Wine- His blood shed for us, is the Blood of the Lamb of God applied on the doorposts before the Israelites left Egypt), Feast of Tabernacles, and shabbat the day of rest, etc. These feasts have deep spiritual signficance as we progress in maturity in Him. Matt-(under our new covenant there is the sabbath and communion. the birth and death of Christ is celebrated everyday. It's the easter bunny, the earth, the turkey and santa claus, that are celebrated once a year. my children will not know of them.) ARE you a JW?

Visit a Messianic Passover, & any honest "christian" should at least begin to see why those Holydays are so important, how they relate to God's church, and why "salvation is of the Jew", like it or not!

Seems satan & his know more than some "christians"!

Jn.5:39.

As Christians that love God, we should. I like to observe a Messianic Passover.

We are not commanded to do so under the New Covenant, but God will bless us incredibly for loving Him in such a way that we want to honor Him in observing them.

pt2:
if it was set by him it would be in the bible.Don't get me wrong, I do thank our forefathers for the foundation of America, beinging it to how we are free, but God blessed us freedom, but didn't tell us to have a holiday on the 4th of July,or any other fedreal holiday. We should be careful of what we celebrate, for we are no part of this world. We can still reconize it w/o celebrating it.

Maybe the question was misunderstood, why celebrate holidays that man makes up or the government grants when it is not set by God?

Not much room for detailed replies here! Rom.10 > 14 IS referring to Romans chapter 10 > [through] Romans chapter 14. God Bless & Maranatha!

Please read Romans chapter 14.

Jew and Gentile Days, Some Good, Some Bad! Col.2:8(14-17). Without those Hol(y)days commanded by God in Lev.23:1-44, 24:1-4, Judism without the Tenach would'nt have a legitimate leg to stand on, neither would scriptural Christianity, as Judism is scriptural christianities foundation! [Matt.5:17, Jn.5:39, Acts 17:10-12, Rom.10 > 14.]. Things were better when we honored The Lord's Day [Sunday], etc, as a nation. God Bless & Maranatha.

Part of the answer -
By Law many stores are legally closed on certain holidays. If store owners do not close on these days they may be fined.

Another part is curiosity.
My store must close for their holiday. What do they do on their holiday? So we learn about their holiday.

Cultural majority
Where most people do on thing, it is often easier to join in the one thing.

DANIEL in the Bible deals differently, an stands out as a minority concerning diet and worship.
