Quickly get forgiveness. Ask and you shall receive.>>>You need, you must keep, your joy and your peace that ONLY Jesus can give. It is your STRENGTH. So get on your knees.

Psalms 51:12, Restore unto me the JOY of thy salvation, and uphold me with thy free spirit. Notice that David used the word JOY of thy salvation. Psalms 51 in its entirety is about a sinning saint who comes back to full communion and service. Also the parable of the prodical son in the book of Luke 15:11-32, the younger son had backslidden also but you see how the Father because of His love for His son welcomed him back with open arms. Great truths of God's word for us christians today.
---Cynthia on 9/26/07

Anon, I encourage you to examine the Lamb. That is what any true priest of God would do to image his Father. The whole time you are saying, "God, I have sinned. God, I have backslidden. God, I am not worthy", Father God is saying, "What about that Lamb? How does He look?"
---Linda on 9/26/07

Madison, when you are backslidden you are not in Christ Jesus anymore, instead you are in sin; when you backslide you leave Christ salvation and you enter into outter condemnation. Hope this helps you.
---Eloy on 9/26/07

Elder, i would very strongly advise any and every person who does not feel saved, to earnestly seek God through prayer and make sure that they are saved: for the torments and separation from God with never any chance of escape is a very long time, indeed, it is eternal.
---Eloy on 8/9/05

I would encourage you to search your heart and spend time in prayer. Remember it's not enough to simply be sorry for being caught doing what you shouldn't, you should be sorry and want forgiveness for doing the things in the first place. God can and will forgive, but it takes a humble heart and attitude. Remember God never asked you to walk alone, but to walk with HIM.
---Sarah on 8/9/05

Eloy, ol' long time debating buddy, my whole point is/was that feelings and experiences do not make the Bible true.
Now you are saying the same thing.
Sometimes people don't feel Saved but that does not change the promises of God.
---Elder on 8/9/05

Elder, The Bible is true even if you had no "real life" experiences. But Elder, if Elderly, i can't imagine a person of your age not having any "real life" experiences to compare to the Bible, nor can i imagine you not feeling the Salvation of God, nor the Presence of his Holy Spirit. Eliphaz spoke of feeling the spirit, when he said to Job, Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up. It's quite unlikely for a person not to feel God, when God is pure Love.
---Eloy on 8/9/05

Eloy suppose I don't have any "real life" experiences is the Bible true of not?
You see my belief is that the Bible is true whether I feel it or not.
The Bible is true whether I believe it or not.
Feelings and "real life" experiences do not make the Bible true.
It is true apart form any of these things.
---Elder on 8/8/05

Ruben, I checked all of chapter 20 and not one place had Purgotary, maybe it was misspelled. You had mentioned something about Mary in Revelations, where is that one at?
---lupe2618 on 8/8/05

4. Habitual sins is disobedience. That is when you know you are wrong and you rather do it then to obey God. If you know and still do, you must like what you do more the Christ. Faith in the Lord is our means to make things right.
---lupe2618 on 8/8/05

3. If your love for Christ is not genuine, then you are not one of His. Many complain about been chosen or elected, but the way to find out is if you really have true love for Christ and want to change. If you don't then you are not commiting your life to Him, and you are not one of the chosen one's. Hell is a terrible place to spend eternity. Live for Christ, or live for the world. If you feel a conviction from the Holy Spirit, summit to Him and find peace and forgiveness.
---lupe2618 on 8/8/05

2. Not because of his power but Christ in him. Man along cannot please God. He cannot see or follow someone he doesn't see or believe in. He will love the world and everything about it. When Christ comes into your heart, you began to be the person God wanted you to be. Make sure of your salvation. Everyone should. You can tell if you are following God or not. You can tell your love of Christ. Is it genuine? If it is then confess your sins to God and began to be the person God wanted you to be.
---lupe2618 on 8/8/05

anon, in answer to your question, I will give it a try. Just my opinion. I believe that if you are born again you do have free will to choose God's rules and to follow them. As a lost person you are slave to sin. As a true Christian you are no longer slave. If your desire is to be in the world doing what you want, you were never a Christian. You see, the lost has a desire that is against God. The true believer that has the Lord in his life, will strife to do good and do the things of God.
---lupe2618 on 8/8/05

Elder, your real life experiences that you have will prove that the Bible is true. The Bible also reads, "O taste and see that YHWH good: blessed the man that trusts in him." Psalm 34:8.

Does our experiences prove the Bible or does the Bible prove our experiences?

Elder, when God saves you, then you will feel it: "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Yet I trust in your mercy. My heart will rejoice in your salvation: I will sing to YHWH, because he has dealt lovingly with me. He did convert and lighten my soul, and bring me to walk in paths of righteousness, for his most holy name." Ezekiel 36:26; Psalms 13:5,6; 23:3.
---Eloy on 8/8/05

I speak for myself, when I got saved, I felt different, my heart was brand new, I was a changed person. But I got saved through faith. It takes faith to believe in God, and to get saved. I am not saved through feelings, although I feel different, I am saved through faith. If one don't have faith, I don't see how they can get saved. Because a person has to have faith (believe) that God is real. So you get saved through faith and after you get saved you feel different. I did, and still do.
---Rebecca_D on 8/7/05

Geraa; he doesn't hold sin against us? Where did you get that idea? Yes God is a loving and merciful God but everything we do, good or bad we will be judged.
---Rebecca_D on 8/7/05

Eloy, so if I do what the Bible says I must do to be Saved and I don't "feel" anything then according to you I am still lost.
Would you please share that Scripture reference with us.
Should I put my faith and trust in what God said on a shelf in the back room until I get those "feelings?"
Or should I just accept God at His Word and accept that I am Saved by faith and not proof?

Elder, you wrote: "Eloy, show Scripture that even hints at your point. What you say reveals problems. 1. You are Saved by feelings." Elder, If the function of your feelings are sound and not physically impaired in any way, then YES, WHEN CHRIST SAVES YOU YOU WILL FEEL IT: for when he himself translates you from death to life, from separation to restoration, from darkness to light, and from sin to salvation, you cannot help but to feel this transformation into a new creation in Christ.
---Eloy on 8/7/05

Eloy I never said anything about feelings either.
Since you brought it up if I don't have "feelings" am I saved?
Be careful now and don't contradict yourself.

Good news Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, both talk how we are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto God, once we had trusted in the blood of Christ for their salvation . But in Rev. 2:4-5 Jesus tells the Ephesians that they abandoned the love they had at first and have fallen. Jesus warns them to repent and do the works they did at first, otherwise He will remove their lampstand (their awaited place in heaven).

Good news Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, both talk how we are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto God, once we had trusted in the blood of Christ for their salvation. As for backslidding, God knows we will still sin from time to time, but he is a Loving and merciful God that does not hold it against us. God wants us to serve him from our heart, not from our works. Serve him for gratitude for the gift he gave us, eternel life. It is all about a choice to serve.
---geraa7578 on 8/7/05

God teaches us thru our failures. That's how he educates not just our heads but our hearts. Humans have sinned since the garden; however, God did not leave us without hope. When we have a living relationship with Jesus, His indwelling Holy Spirit convicts, guides, teaches and helps us. We must repent daily....He is alive and just to forgive us of all sin including wandering away from Him. Don't worry God is with you and He'll being you back stronger than ever if you but pray and believe!!
---Elsie on 8/7/05

I said one unconfessed sin. That is why the bible says to repent daily, to renew our minds. This is why God has told us in his word for us to ask him to search our hearts to see if anything be hidden that needs to come out so we can repent over them. I agree that no one is without sin, but if a person has a grudge against someone for years, and forgot. If that is left unrepented then they will go to hell, because they didn't ask God to search their heart to make sure it was clean.
---Rebecca_D on 8/6/05

Elder, i never said you are saved by feelings. Salvation will have a feeling, the Holy Spirit and love too, and batheing, restoration, and healing also have feeling. Faith without works is dead. James 2:17,20-26. People crucify Christ every time they sin. Hebrews 6:6. Everyone will give an account of their lives before God, whether of sin unto condemnation, or obedience unto salvation. II Corinthians 5:10. You're corrupting the scripture of I John 1:8. Read verse I John 1:6, that's what verse 8 refers to.

4. He knows Rebecca if your commitment was sincere or not. He is the only one that can read our hearts. We cannot lie to Him and when He knows you love Him, He will carry you through your life till the end. No one can mock God. Our true faith will carry us through our troubles and pains and every time we get through we give Him the glory.
---lupe2618 on 8/6/05

3. Now, the people that like to do the things of the world, they never really repented. You can love Christ or you can love the world. Many give their lives to Christ for a moment but later go back to what they like all the time. Those people were never sincere with their repentance and were never born again of God. We sin as believers but God is there to carry us through because He knows the repented heart. He knows who is sincere. He knows who has the faith. Just like He knew about Abraham.
---lupe2618 on 8/6/05

2. Remember when we talked to Eloy and he said he was without sin and we all jumped on him. That is why he is wrong. We all sin and many times don't even know it. We sometimes have hate hidden inside our hearts and don't even know. Man lust all the time and that is a sin too. It is still with us. But Christ has forgiven us past present and future. With the Holy Spirits help we are able to become better people and we are not slaved to sin anymore like we were before we knew the Lord.
---lupe2618 on 8/6/05

Rebeca, I believe you have something mixed up. You see, no one is without sin Rebeca. Not one person. If no one is without sin, how can anyone be saved when they die? No one would make it, Unless you confessed at the moment you were dying but no one knows when they will die. Our sin nature is still with us. Our thoughts are sinful too. Our walk with God is becoming more like Christ. But we are never perfect until we die, then we are glorified.

It just takes one unconfessed sin to keep you out of heaven. A person can't restore what they had with God. for they will have to start all over. God said this. God has to convict a person of their sins in order for them to be saved. One can't just say, Oh forgive me Lord" and that be it. In God there is no fear. You should fear him but not fear of failing him. If you lose your salvation, and become a backslider, in order for you to come back to God, he has to convict you of your sins first.

Thank you brother, where have you been lately? I have to take a break for a while and let others answer some of the questions. I have my mother in law very ill, so keep up the good work,
---lupe2618 on 8/5/05

You do not have to restore your salvation because once you got it God keeps you, you don't keep Him.
You have to restore the JOY of your salvation.
That is just repenting and turning from what ever is killing your Joy and becoming obedient to the Word of God and His commands
---Elder on 8/5/05

Angela, if we want to make sure we have been chosen, all we have to do it truely commit our life's to Christ. If we don't, we will never have what God promises. It has to come from the heart. Oh many have said the words but they loved the world more. Don't ever doubt your salvation. If the Holy Spirit lives in you, you are a new creation, created in Christ, for good works. A child of God forever. Walk your walk on the strenght of God not yours.

8. "For whoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith." 1 John 5:4. again in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." He tells us, whoever believes in Him, has eternal life. If you believe in Him you too will have eternal life. John 3:36, He who believes in the Son has eternal life." what is the condition? believing in Him.

7. It is not about us, it is about Christ and what the Holy Spirit is doing. When we do good it is about God, that is why scripture tells us that everything good in the believer comes from above. It does come from us. Without Christ we could do nothing, with Christ we can do all things. When I witness to someone, God puts him in my path. He prepares him and me. He is doing the work through me. I am doing nothing but been submisive to the Spirit. Because I cannot change anyone's heart.
---lupe2618 on 8/5/05

6. If you have true faith, and the Spirit of Christ lives in you, you will never fail. Never. If you fall away, you were never one. I know many going out witnessing and seeing how much they can do, never realizing it is the Holy Spirit that converts people. It is not us. They plan what they are going to do and how they are going to do it, all on their own. If you look at churches today they look for ways to bring others to Christ. As if they are saving others themselves.
---lupe2618 on 8/5/05

5. The televangelist are going out there and calling people to come forward. To just say certain words and you know what, many do, and later they fall back, but only because they were never saved. They don't even preach the true Gospel and talk lies to people. They are feeding off the emotions of people that are going through some hard times. A true conversion is something so beautiful. You do see the fruits of those that are saved.

4. YOu might have made a commitment but in your heart you never really meant it. Repentance itself is a change of direction. Many come to Christ and never really had a true repented heart to begin with. No wonder they fall away. They lose hope, they still love things from the world and never really wanted to turn them away to begin with. But at the moment through emotions they make a judgement and it was not real. Right this minute there is many making that call and they don't mean it.
---lupe2618 on 8/5/05

3. When there is a true conversion in someone's life, you are a new creation. Christ comes to live in your life, your understanding begans to change not for the worse but for the better. You began to do good things, not because of you, but because of Christ in you. Your love just increases, not because of you, but because of Christ in you. You do not go backward little by little, you go forward little by little. You still sin but God removes things in your life with convictions, and you move on.
---lupe2618 on 8/5/05

2. If I walked on my strength I would never make it. You see, on our own we could do nothing before. Thats why we need Him. You look at making it without Christ, but it isn't about you, it is about Christ in you. I know there is many here that don't trust in Christ Promises because they are not sure if they can make it. They wonder if they don't do enough, salvation might not come. They still look at things with their eyes and ears. Their understanding is still theirs.
---lupe2618 on 8/5/05

Angela, I read all of your statements and I have to disagree with you. I don't know what you really went through and what you experienced in the past and I believe each one of us has our own relationship with God. I do believe that if you have true faith you will never fall. You see, that faith comes from God and it will hold you to the end. When the Holy Spirit is really in your life you began to change not because of you but because of the Holy Spirit. You are not walking on your straigth but His.

While you are under Christs blood God can not see your sins. When you are under the Law all of your sins are revealed. These are the end days. Many will fall away. You will see.

For although it is a free gift lest any man should boast when we sin we open the door for evil to have a work in us. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God for he will leave. Do you not know that it is the Holy Spirit that marks you as God's own?
---Angela on 8/4/05

If you have fell so far that you can not see through the darkness he is still calling you to come unto him. He will forgive you but remember how far you fell and never turn away from his amazing love again. The more you sin the farther away from his grace you fall. Out of his grace out of his protection you have no forgiveness for you have placed yourself under the law by sinning. Quickly ask forgiveness and do not take his gift for granted.
---Angela on 8/4/05

He is always ready to forgive but please please with all of my heart I ask you to understand that there is a time when by sinning we fall so far away from God that we fall out of his grace and we are then lost. If you are dabbling a little here and there in sin. Stop. This will be the entrance for satan to come into your life. You do not have to sin. You have Jesus.

I am sorry if I am rambling. I just wanted you to meet someone who understands all of the points that were made. Yes God is a forgiving God. No we can not work our way into heaven with good works. His salvation is sufficient. It is only because of him that we are saved. But in our sin if we refuse Christ and his free gift just as the sinner does who has never known God then we will also die in our sins. God loves all of us.
---Angela on 8/4/05

I also believe that we should never fool ourselves into believing that we can not be lost. Please be aware that many of us will be lead away from the Lord. I remind you that you do not have to sin. God has provided strength against temptations. I know that it is not what we do but what he did for us.
---Angela on 8/4/05

Continued from above...We must all stay in the presence of God. Each time we sin we take ourselves out of his presence. We open the door to all manners of evil. We make our flesh stronger and our spirit weaker each time we sin against God and when we need christs strength to fight our battles we do not have it because of this. This is why we loose. Yes salvation is a free gift.
---Angela on 8/4/05

There is no question about that about his forgiveness. But if we continue willingly in our sins God will cast us away from him. It is our choice. Please do not be deceived. One day many of you may fall hard. Do not fool yourself. I say this out of love. We are not above sin and everyday our choices will either draw us closer to God or further away from him.

We can not take advantage of God's forgiveness and expect that if we continue to choose sin that he will allow us into heaven. You can be a back slider and make your way into heaven. But you can also back slide so far that you find your way into hell. I must say that I know that it is not our works that gains our entrance into heaven. We all know this as true christians.
---Angela on 8/4/05

I can tell you if I had died in my sins even after receiving the Holy Spirit I would have been cast into Hell. I slid so far away from God. I did not even know myself anymore and I could not hear his voice nor did I listen. My point is of course God in his mercy forgives us even though we do not deserve it but God is not mocked what so ever a man soweth that shall he reap.
---Angela on 8/4/05

Only God knows the heart of man. I would like to say. I was the one that preached against sin. Taught about the love and forgiveness of God. I followed him and I loved him for many years. I even taught about the fact that we have an advocate with the father through Jesus Christ if we do sin. I a child of the most High fell away. I back slid to the utmost.
---Angela on 8/4/05

Over and over again I fell. This was my choice and my weakness. After a while I noticed that every time I fell It was harder to get back up. I also noticed that every time I fell it took longer to rise again. I believed that God forgave me each time I sinned if I were honest and true about my sorrow and repentence. However, if I were truly repentant why did I sin again?

part3:I to believed that once you were saved you were always saved but deep in my heart I also believed that if a person sinned enough he would eventually be seperated from God and would die in his sin. I can see a battle, For God, or man. I think I know who wins. I love you Eloy and I am glad that you are still working hard with your reading. I enjoy answering because like I said before, even if the intention is to prove someone wrong, the purpose for God is still been done. Some where in time we get the message even if it is not now. Thats ok with God because it still accomplishes its purpose on His time.
---Lupe2618 on 7/13/05

Eloy, show Scripture that even hints at your point.
What you say reveals problems.
1. You are Saved by feelings.
2. Your Salvation is of works in contrast with Eph 2:8-9 and others.
3. If you lose your Salvation you could never get Saved again until you Crucified Christ again.
4. You realize nothing of Chastisement of the Believer and his rewards.
5. And at this moment YOU may not be Saved YOURSELF, for if you say you have not sinned that is a lie and the Truth is not in you, I John 1:8.
---Elder on 7/13/05

Eloia and Lupe, i completely disagree. If you backslide into sin at that time you are no longer saved, and if you remain that way and do not repent, then you will die in your sin and not in Christ. Also if you are no paticipant in God's grace, then you have none. Again, faith without works is dead, completely and 100% dead.
---Eloy on 7/13/05

Eloy: You keep telling people they are not saved. Do you know their hearts? Are you God? Only God knows my heart, and anyone else's.

I would never question someone's salvation. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. There again, are you the Holy Spirit? Do you believe that the Holy Spirit needs your help in convicting people? I don't.

Eloy, we're talking about people who have already received Christ as their savior and Lord. If our love for the Lord I'm sure you are also guilty of from time to time, Then we get in His Word and ask for restoration...but we are NOT LOST in that state. We can not "work" our way back into the family because we were always a part of GOD's amazing GRACE...NOT by our works or deed of righteousness. The prodigal's FATHER IS OUR FATHER...See his example.
---Eloia_N_ks on 7/12/05

I don't think you have noticed but every answer that you give and many others is always about what you can do and not do. What is the Holy Spirit doing in your lives? God tells us, "you can do nothing without me" are those idle words? Everyone believes in Christ but not the Holy Spirit because it seems to me He is no where around in any answer. The very reason you are on line talking to us is beause of the Holy Spirit. If he didn't live in your heart you would be doing something else.
---Lupe2618 on 7/12/05

You are right Eloy but, how do you come to Christ if you don't see Him? It is easy to put down everything you put down, but without the quickening of the heart by the Holy Spirit you will continue the path you are in. Writing something has to have substance. They are nice words but when you are dead spiritually how can you wake up to make the call? You need God to wake you up first in order for you to see Him. It is God from beginning to end.
---lupe2618 on 7/12/05

We all fail and disappoint God at one time or another; it's our nature as human beings. However, there's NO WAY to loose your salvation (the entire purpose of Jesus being crucified was to attone for our sins and He only died once). Yes, we have to earnestly confess our sins and ask God for His forgiveness, but He'll never deny forgiveness to one of His own. We can take comfort in this unfailing fact.

Eloia, So you say that a person lost in sin does nothing at all, and grace just happens along and saves that sinner. But the truth is, if you live in sin, you will die in sin, that is truth. And also the Accuser of the brothers in Christ will also be thrown into hell.
---Eloy on 7/12/05

Eloia, There is something one must "do" to become saved, it is a "work". First, acknowledge that you need to be saved, then repent or humble yourself, then open your mouth in confession and ask to be saved: Else, you are not saved. Second, after salvation, you must again "do" the commands of Christ; Else again, you are not saved. Scripture reads that "only the doers" of his will enter heaven, and not the hearers only.
---Eloy on 7/12/05

We all backslide. We humans are a hopeless lot, but praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ and because of His work on the cross, we can repent and get back on the narrow path. Yes, we will fail God over and over again; it's just our nature. We do not lose our salvation; it's a matter of us not accepting His free gift to us over and over again. It's always there. Our job is to repent and come back to His wide open arms. PTL! Rest in the Lord's promises and press on in joy dear one!
---Elsie on 7/11/05

its proof that we are saved. A person could not have that true love for Christ is he wasn't saved. Sure your relationship is damaged but you can always restore it, because God gives you the means to do it. His means is the Holy Spirit in you. He knows your weaknesses and your strengths. He will convict you of your sin and you will turn from it. People forget that we have the Spirit of God to help us. They want to do everything on their own strength. But God says, you can do nothing without Me.

Hello brother Elder, I guess I got so many emails that I just could not stay away. They incouraged me a lot. I got emails from people that don't even answer questions but just read what we put down. I know that many need help and I sure don't want to just stand on the sidelines and do nothing. We all have a calling and I feel I do have to do my part. Again, thank you and many that wrote me. I prayed for God to prepare me in His word.

Eloy, You can't "work out" what is not IN YOU. It could be translated...."live out" (a lifestyle) If you must "work" to retain your salvation, it's not a gift at all. No Grace in that. You are saying Jesus isn't sufficent to save to the uttermost. With that would deserve some credit for your salvation! That's major pride....A major SIN and you are guilty of leading people astray and degrading the blood of Jesus and God's amazing grace. See our point?
