I'm not sure about demons jumping onto you from another person, but I believe that sensitive people, compassionate people will easily feel the mood of another.

Also, Christians can get depressed and negative too, not just unbelievers.

Catherine, I know what you mean. The devil tries to WEAR US OUT. We have one darned thing after another. One accusation after another. One sorrow after another. The only thing is to be steeped in the Bible and you can soon regain your joy.

Oh my goodness yes. The look on their faces always looking sad. You try to fight these feeling from coming over you. Satan is always at work to try and still God's peoples joy. I AM SICK AND SICK OF SATAN. And by the way people should stop telling God's people what to do. That is God's job. You know NOTHING.

It will only happen if we let it. Don't let anyone still your Joy. While they talk negative, you just keep talking possitive, and before you know it, they will be talking possitive to.

I come across a lot of negative people and everytime they converse negatively, I possesively give positive replies or actions and always in time, they stop and move off or continue but in a positive way shyly knowing that negativeness is out of my boundary..dont ever let the devil move u off someone negative. Posses them with positiveness and joy and the devil will leave.

Why does this happen? I do not know. It can be a problem with me. When I start noticeing someone else's bad moods getting on me I am learning to get up and leave the room or the house whatever the case. I am all for helping people, but some people just won't open up.

I too have been in the company of someone who really affected me in a negative manner with their conversation. I have made an conscious effort to seperate myself from those who have down trodden negative attitudes all the time.
It really grieves my spirit.

For the same reason you get wet standing in the rain without protection!

This is one of the many ways Satan likes to work. The reason why people are negative is because they let Satan in control of their thinking. Satan is out to kill steal and destroy and thats what happens when one loses their joy. If someone I know is complaining and that is all they do I tell to go somewhere else, same with a person with a negative attitude. I serve a can do God. I try not to stay around people who complain or is negative because you'll be that way to.

The only way demons can "latch" on to you is if you invite them to. At times one may discern an evil presence, but that doesn't mean a demon is making a nest in your hair, and changing his current address. Maybe God is allowing you to sense the darkness so you can pray for the person. Ask God to grant you wisdom in this area. It sounds like you may be getting some unbalanced teaching on the subject.

"DO not be misled: 'Bad company corrupts good character'" (1 Corinthians 15:33).

It works like gravity. It's easier to be pulled down, than up.

I was meaning more from a spiritual perspective not a personality perspective, like someone else's demons can latch on to you too by having closeness with them.

negativity breeds negativity. I have found if I am around someone who is negative, I do the same thing. I am careful now who I am around.(for very long)

This is why we should not marry unbelievers, or become too closely attached to non-believing friends and neighbours. Be there when needed and help them. Our Christianity should shine through our lives so that they will want to know more and have what we have but we must not let it happen in reverse so that we become like them. We need people of like mind to be our closest companions without removing ourselves totally from the others.

What part does light have with darkness? This is also why it is so important to "feed" on God's Word daily, to keep that light on the inside burning, in a world that is so dark. I can get very negative if I choose to see things the way the world sees them. When I spend time with Godly people, listen to Christian music, talk to God, think about His Word, I have joy. And of course the joy of the Lord is our strength. I need to be strong for the work of the kingdom.
