Samuel, What a great day that will be when Satan is FINALLY cast alive into the Lake of Fire! HALLELUYAH! He will burn forever and ever. GOD's Judgment is set!
---Gordon on 7/27/08

He also is the god of this world.
---John on 7/25/08

Satan works to overthrow GOD in this planet on which he lives. To some extent this world is hell.

But the lake of fire will destroy Satan burning him to ashes. We will see him die.

Eze 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick, therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
---Samuel on 7/25/08

Actually GOD Himself is the Ruler over Hell. GOD prepared it with the Fire of His Wrath. He made boundries for Satan, the fallen angels and the demons, in Hell, the World and so far in the heavens. Satan is the god of this Evil world. Satan torments people in Hell, as well do the demons and evil angels. Satan would LOVE for people to believe that he is "King of Hell". But, Satan cannot do anything that without GOD's allowance. GOD truly is in Control over EVERYTHING, including Hell.

A prophet of God from Romania, now dead, was once asked by the Mormon church leaders if he could see Joseph Smith. Yes!! He replied I see him standing with Satan. His prophet's name was Dudman or something similar to that spelling. If the story has validity then it answers the question, is Satan in charge of hell.
---Mima on 7/25/08

According to John's inspired prophecy, Revelation, Satan has the keys of Hell. Ch 9.1-2 and is in charge of evil spirits who come out of Hell at his command. (V3).
---frances008 on 7/24/08

Satan has been and is ruling over this planet. He was cast here Rev12 and he has grabbed the steering wheel so to speak. Jesus is allowing him to be in charge. It is what humans deserve for their disobedience even though we were forewarned by the prophets. Eventually he will be sent to the lowest part of Hell (Isaiah 14.15) and people will see him and be amazed that he had at one point deceived all the nations. He is in human form right now, yes, friends, he has possessed a body. Some of us know who he is.

First off....lucifer is a latin name, why is it in a hebrew text? The name in the hebrew is heylel. And it can mean more then light bearer. But where does scripture say he will rule in hell. He will suffer the greatest torments. More then any man will. He does not rule, God rules even in hell

Satan is a loser, and everyone who follows him is a loser. Every person and demons will not be having no kind of party, it will be pure torment. Jesus is the winner. Because He came and stayed focused [He couldn't afford not to], fulfilled His mission. To save His elect from eternal everlasting hell [speaking of heros], There is mine right there. To say, or to even hint, or joke, that Satan is the winner is blasphemy against God. God is the winner in the end. And in the beginning.

eward of saved to reign on earth with Christ as priests and rulers in Gods Kingdom ...when Christ Returns to earth He destroys Satan and ALL governments of world

Satan rules earth now 2Corin 4:4, why Satan offered Christ rulership of earth while he was in flesh (Matt 4)

Hell is grave where one withers away to dust (Ecc 3:19-20, 9:4-5, 14:14, Exek 18:4,20, Psalm 146:4, John 3:13, Acts 13:22, 2:29,34

Satan will be the big winner since most people are going to hell. So the Christians tell me.
---old_guy on 7/23/08

Ok Kay, where in the Bible does it say anything straight forward? Do God and Jesus not speak in parables? I believe that Cain is the ruler over Lucifer. The scriptures say that Cain shall rule over "him". In the story that I am speaking of, there are 4 people. God, Cain, Able, and Lucifer. Obviously he cant rule over God, Able is a mortal so cant e ruled over and Lucifer is the only one left. So therefore, Lucifer is neither the tormentor nor the tormented. He is the being under Cain.

NO, Satan has never & will never rule anything.
Rev 20:10 says "tormented day and night forever".
Rev 20:15 tells us that all that are not in the book of life are "cast into the lake of fire". Notice there is no "tormented day and night forever".
---Chip on 4/15/08

Revelation 20:10 says the devil was cast into the lake of fire, not hell. Hell and the lake of fire are not the same. Revelation 20:14-15 says death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, and that is the second death. And whosoever was not found in the book of life was also cast into the lake of fire. But I do agree that Satan is not ruling hell. He rules the earth.
---Rebecca_D on 4/14/08

NO! Satan is not ruling Hell. Hell is a place were He will recieve his punishment for going against God. Check out Rev 20:10
---Robert on 4/13/08

It's quite an absurd concept to think, or teach. that Satan and his demons will be rewarded with dominion over hell to torment souls into eternity. This is another false belief that many have because of poor translation and fleshly desires of revenge being perpetrated by men who value their earthly kingdoms over the truth of the word.

Currently Satan is the ruler of this world according to Scripture. When Christ returns He will cleanse with fire, destroy Satan and his minions and restore what was stolen.

John16:11 "because the prince of this world is judged"
---TS on 6/12/07

*Yes he is the ruler of hell, just like God is the ruler of heaven. Satan's angels will be rejoicing and having fun tormenting those who are in hell. *

Revelation says they will be tormented day and night forever. DOn't forget hell was orignally created for Satan and the fallen angels, and not as a place of rule but a place of torment and punishment. When they are there burning they won't be rejoicing they will crying out in pain and agony.
---Matthew on 6/12/07

2)

The reason Satan wants people to go to hell is not so he can laugh, mock and rule over them in hell. On the other hand, because of His selfishness, he wants others to face the same fate he will face. An eternal punishment, death, and destruction. Satan and His angels won't have a chance to mock them or laugh at them because they will be too busy crying out in pain and agony from their torment.
---Matthew on 6/12/07

Rebecca D>>>Is correct. God does not enjoy sending anyone to hell. It is your own doings. God does not have the problems we do. Satan wants to take just as many people to hell with him that he can, Because he is wicked, evil, and just plain vicious. If you keep following the devil and listening to the Devil, Bowing to the Devil, The Devil you will meet one day.

I wonder if Jesus plans all Hell's tortures, and stokes the fires?
---alan_of_UK on 6/12/07

Satan is not a ruler over hell Jesus has the keys to hell he rules over everything even Satan
Satan only rules over flesh and only flesh that is submitted to him.
---exzucuh on 6/11/07

Yes he is the ruler of hell, just like God is the ruler of heaven. Satan's angels will be rejoicing and having fun tormenting those who are in hell. This is my thoughts.
---Rebecca_D on 6/11/07

The Bible says that the devil and his demons will be tormented in Hell for all eternity. So no, the devil isn't ruler of Hell.

Faith, chapter 4 of Malachi isn't referring to Hell.

Where in the Bible does it say that Satan is the ruler of Hell? Is the criminal ruler of prison?
---Kay on 12/25/06

1. Satan is not and will not be the ruler of hell. Revelation 1:18; Ezekiel 28:19 and never shalt thou_be any_more.
2. The fires of hell have not yet been kindled. Malachi 4 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh . . .
3. The fires of hell will at some point burn itself out and the wicked will be reduced to ashes. Malachi 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet . . .
---Faith on 12/24/06

Im confused with how people say the Devil is a ruler of hell. Please give me scripture to support that. From what I understand the Devil is the ruler of the WORLD. In hell he will be a prisoner and punished and tormented for eternity along with his fallen angels and rejectors of Christ. He tries to turn man against God not so he can have more people to torment in hell but so he can hurt God. He hates God and loves turning his own creation against Him.
---Matthew on 12/23/06

Satan is the ruler of Hell now. In the future Satan and his demons will be chained to Hell and be tortured forever. Humans will also be tortured in Hell forever (only the ones that have not accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts as personal Lord & Savior).

i have a question? what happened to adam and eve? she commited the ultimate sin and god didn't say anything about sending her to hell. he just sent them back to dust. any explanations
---jebadia on 12/21/06

Satan is the ruler of this world and hell is his home. Christians don't belong here and in the Bible it clearly states that Christians are foreigners in this world.
---jane on 9/14/05

Not any more [Rev.1:*18, 20:11(14)15]!

Hell was not made for man, but for the devil and 'his' angels, when man sinned hell enlarged it's self for mankind too [Isa.5:8(14)24].

Hell is a place of torment, I'm glad my ticket for there was cancelled over 2,000 years ago on/after Calvary [Lke.16:19-31]!

HARPERS? [Rev.14:1-5]!
---bob6749_[Elishama] on 8/20/05

, hell is the place God created to throw satan into, along with all who follow him. there is no "ruler" of hell, only pain, weeping and gnashing of teeth, because they are eternally separated from God.

I would like to suggest that "in the end"
HELL will be more about a state of affairs than a place. When at the end a person will come to the realization that he/she is lost for ever that will be HELL! As for the person in charge, it will be the individual himself and the excuse "the devil made me do it!" will be of no use.
---Pierr7958 on 8/16/05

No, God is ruler over all his creation, even Satan and all who he throws into hell. Everyone in hell will be tormented in the everlasting lake of fire, even the chief of devils, which is Satan the biggest loser ever created.
---Eloy on 8/16/05

Because God is preparing both Heaven and hell He is the One who will be in charge regardless of where each person spends eternity.
---Xanthi on 8/16/05

3.
Rev. 21:8 lists kinds of people who will go into the lake of fire. 1 Cor 6:9-10 gives a similar list. But the next verse says:

1 Cor 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Notice it says, "such WERE some of you" (emphasis added). When you're saved, you're no longer in that group. You're washed, sanctified, and justified "by the Spirit of our God."

2.
Rev 20:13-14:
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

In these verses "hell" is the Greek word "hades" (Strong's #86), and it means "the state of being dead". Notice it says hell was "cast into the lake of fire." So hell will also be destroyed!
---Jeffrey on 8/16/05

1.
The traditional idea of hell is not found in the Bible. However, there is a lake of fire.

Rev 20:10:
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet {are}, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Notice it says the devil "was cast into the lake of fire" and "shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." Doesn't sound like he's going to rule, does it?
---Jeffrey on 8/16/05

Satan is an angel. The Bible says men will rule the angels. It appears Satan will be the lowest and not the ruler of Hell
---James_P on 8/15/05

God rules hell. He gave Satan dominion over the earth, but God is still the ultimate Ruler, and Satan can do nothing without God's knowledge and consent. God told him he could do what he wanted with Job, but He laid limits as to what that could be. I don't know if hell is even created yet, as it's for Satan & his angels in the final judgement.

Thank you guys. So right, Satan will be just another tortured occupant in hell.
---NVBarbara on 8/15/05

There is no ruler in Hell only punishment for all who go there.
There is no fun, happiness, forgiveness or comfort. Satan will be punished along with the demons that follow him.
---Elder on 8/15/05

No, satan is not the "ruler" of hell, nor will he be. He is currently referred to as the "prince of the power of the air", but, when he finally gets to hell, he will be just another occupant. God is the only ruler anywhere.
---tommy3007 on 8/15/05

Indeed Satan is, and will be the ruler of hell. However, he is also the prince of THIS world. Eph. 2:2 tells us he is the prince and power of the air,"the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience". This is his domain, that's why there is so much sin in the world.

Moderator - Versus Satan and his angels thrown into the everlasting lake of fire where Satan rules over nobody.
