I don't recall seraphim, cherebim, nor any other being messengers.
I agree with the 2 classes--holy and fallen.
Archangel could be considered a class, but is more of a position than a different kind of angel.

In catagory by names of different angels that I only know in the subject are the following (please note that some of the following, I do not have reference to so please forgive me):Seraphim, Cheribum, nephilum, and Memitim. My question however is the description to wether archangels are the same as Seraphim or not so if anyone has any info on that I'd be grateful and God bless.

---RitaH on 10/4/07

Classes of angels? I will not take anyones word for this. I want to live my life so I find out first hand by being one.

On the basis of various passages, there are 7 classes of angels: Archangels, Angels, Thrones, Dominions, Principalities, Cherubim, and Seraphim.

They come in fallen and unfallen varieties.

Fallen angels are reserved for judgment day.

2 Peter 2:4
For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell (Tartarus) and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

Jude 1:6

And angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own habitation, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

There are 2 Kinds of Angels Good or Bad the good are in heaven The bad were cast out with Lucifer their leader who rebelled against God & clasified as Fallen angels.
---EMCEE on 1/7/07

Joel, I disagree with your opinions. And you haven't actually proven by those scriptures that fallen angels aren't devils (demons).

So what is the difference between fallen angels and fallen beings?
---Kay on 1/7/07

Fallen angels are not demons, I gave all the scripture references previously.
---Joel on 1/7/07

Joel, is Satan not an angel who fell from Heaven? And did he not take with him 1/3 of the angels? Jesus referred to these angels as the devil's angels (Matt 24:41). The Bible describes THE devil as being the prince OF devilS. So the angels who fell (fallen angels) are devils.

(KJV) Matthew 9:34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
(RSV) Matthew 9:34 But the Pharisees said, "He casts out demons by the prince of demons."
---Kay on 1/7/07

In the Bible, fallen angels are called devils. Devils = demons
The word "demons" in the Greek is "daimonion" which means devils. So fallen angels ARE demons.

You said that demons are fallen beings but they are not fallen angels. Huh?
---Kay on 1/7/07

No Kay, they are not.
---Joel on 1/5/07

Demons and fallen angels are the same thing.
---Kay on 1/5/07

Demons are evil spirits, unclean spirits, fallen beings or disembodied spirits. Demons are not fallen angels.
2 Peter 2:4
Matt 15:22
Mark 7:25
Mark 5:2
Luke 8:27
Matt 12:44
Mark 5:11-13
James 2:19

There are 9 types of angels: Angels, Cherubim, Seraphim, Archangels, Four Living Creatures, Principalities (fallen angels), Powers (fallen angels), Thrones (fallen angels), & Dominions (fallen angels). All fallen angels are demons.
---Leslie on 1/4/07

There are many "angels". Angels are messengers. The position/class they take depends on their job, or the message given them & by whom it is given. There's not room here to detail all & show verse, a good concordance (ie STRONG'S or CRUDEN'S)gives definitions & verses. Some Angels begin w/cap's., some do not. See Rev. 2:1(pastor), or Gen 24:7 (Celestial), or Mat.25:41 (fallen). Our own angel, often confused with a Guardian Angel is our theophony body as in Acts12:15 & Mat.18:10.

Yes, class of angels. This classes of angels and some have different jobs. I am talking about the angels of God, and the devils. There is rank angels. In Eph. 6:12. The Greek construction, using the word translated "against" repeatedly, separates each category of domonic beings. Like "rulers" and "powers" obviously refer to demons who have high ranks in the satanic hierarchy. " world forces" could mean demons

"ARE not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14)

We do not become angels ... they are a different class of being. Angels are servant beings who minister to Christ and Christians.

Be one? I have no desire to be an angel. (Not that we could)
In the words of that old song
"Angels call Him Jesus,
but I call him Lord."

Christians are the redeemed. A creation higher than angels. Jesus died for us, not them. There is no redemption for fallen angels, but God sacrificed his very own son that we might be saved
