Katrina was certainly an act of God either of his permissive will on his directive will. Was Katrina an opportunity indeed it was, to help our fellow men. |

There is so much we do not know. What is this HAARP stuff. And then there were rumours of explosions in the walls that were keeping water back in N.O. And if weather patterns are only natural, then I would say God controls them, but not if they are caused by the military doing experiments in space with very high frequency soundwaves heating the water and causing rainstorms. Anyway, if God allows evil, it will be for his eternal purposes. |

---evangelistjerry on 9/1/08 |
Katrina was not an act of God. I have heard so many say that it was "God's judgment"..ridiculous! Read your OT. When God's judgment hit there was NOTHING left. NOTHING! If he was judging New Orleans then it would be wiped out. Gone. The wages of sin is death. Reap what you sow. Turn your back from God..then you will suffer the consequences. Which means..no protection and bad news. Not from God..but from putting yourself in the enemies territory and giving Satan full reign in your life. God warned many people before Katrina..Sept 11..and any disaster. There are story after story of God trying to rescue them. Just..few heard His voice. |

eth - God's covenant was (a) not to destroy all life and (b) not to destroy the earth with a flood. See Genesis 9:8-17. I don't read anything there that indicates God was promising to never send any sort of flood disaster. |

---robert on 8/31/08 |
The flooding in Katrina and act of God?? How ridiculous. Have you not read about the Rainbow covenant in the Bible? That covenant was made to all flesh that he would not flood...read the book fellow Christians. |

I know all about the Birthing pains, Only pointing out God was'nt warning G.B for his stance in Israel! Even though he Will be held ACOUNTABLE for his "Path to Peace" on this matter, Just as we all will! The word of God is REAL CLEAR About Dividing Israel.
I wrote Pres. Bush during his 1st. term, NOT to mess with Israel.
Do you think God would kill old people in a nuring home to make a point to G.B? OUGHBOY! |

Read carefully. God is in control of all weather: The Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet [Neh. 1-3]. 2. And He changeth the times and the seasons [Dan 2:21] 3.When God's judgment come, the land would become a desert [Jere. 51:16]. 4.Both earthquakes and political disasters are seen as judgments from God. The prophet warns them to get ready to flee, for God is going to bring Judgment Jere. 10:13]. |

Katrina was a result of our weather patterns, It had Nothing to do with God tell G.B Anything, I hope you are joking Gordon? Bush declared a state of Emergancy 3 day's before katrina hit, You want to blame someone, TRY RAY Naggon(Whatever) or the sen. or Gov. WHO sat on her fat A#* while people were dying. God will hold you ACCOUNTABLE for your LIES, so make sure you know the Truth AND SPEAK IT. Ray's rich white friends had comfortable rooms, while the poor were sucking wind at the Stadium! |

Hurricane Katrina was an Act of GOD's Divine Judgment for President George Bush's ENCOURAGEMENT to Ariel Sharon to FORCE his own Israeli people out of THEIR OWN LAND in the Gaza Strip in 2005. Israel WON the Gaza Strip in the 1967 War. President Bush was WARNED by a Christian Advisor NOT to have anything to do with dividing up the Land of Israel, but he did it ANYWAY. So, his own Country (USA), then, was JUDGED and American citizins LOST THEIR HOMES just as the JEWS DID in the Gaza Strip. |

Within GOD's Judgment, GOD extends His Love and Mercy. After the Katrina Disaster, GOD compelled His serving Saints to use the situation as an opportunity to show Love to and EVANGELIZE the hurricane victims. GOD brought Judgment, but He still LOVES people and wants to draw them to Him. He is willing that NONE should perish forever ultimately in Hell and the Lake of Fire |

Pt 1: Katrina happened because of man's faulty construction. Water levys broke and the city of New Orleans and surrounding towns and cities, suffered as well. These type catastrophes happen. The reasons? We don't always know. Some things we will never the answer to.I do not feel it was an act of God.If it was,oh well. Who are we to question God on this? He is in control. He does not need our permission to do what He pleases. |

Part 2: I live in Texas. Many residents of New Orleans fled to where I live after the storm. They were treated very well with everything imaginable.Shown the love of God in great proportions. I saw this and did participate in this outpouring of love and assistance. Many Katrina evacuees took advantage of the love and assistance given them. They showed contempt for the people in my city, complained about everything and were very bitter toward most everybody. |

---Robyn on 3/20/08 |
Yes, I do. And I am not sadden by it. I know how much God hates the rotten sinful stuff that people do. God is in control of all weather. He created it. Don't make God out to be so loving. For He is not when it comes to the wicked man. |
|
---catherine on 3/19/08 |
It saddens me to hear people blaming God whenever something bad happens. Watched a show today about natural disasters. Showed how pollutions, CO2 was damaging our earth and causing these disasters. God is LOVE! God is not a God of destruction and disaster. Yes we certainly do need to show compassion by helping and praying for these people and STOP BLAMING GOD! |
|
---Marla on 3/18/08 |
Katrina was a hurricane plain & simple did God know of it? Of course, could He have stopped it of course. Bad things happen to good people so that people can see Christians in action-we Christians are all called Saints, Saints walk with people they do not float above them. God is not Santa Claus giving us candy and presents nor is he a Casino dealer we lay down 5 he doubles it to 10. He is holy and we sometimes become to"familar" w/Him treating him like he works for us instead of us serving Him. |
|
---Jeanne on 11/12/06 |
I don't know the cause but God was with us in wonderful ways all thru it. An aunt we hadn't seen in 20 years phoned and said the holy spirit told her to tell us to come stay with her in Arkansas and her son was a vet and boarded our 13 cats. The feeding station in our little town was another miracle, people helping us abounded. I still thank God for this. |

Hurricane Katrina was definitely of God. God is the One Who determines and controls every aspect of the weather. The Book of Job says quite a lot about the weather, and also some of the Psalms. |
|
---Helen_5378 on 9/13/06 |
Katrina is not an act of God. it is the devil himself moving the people to think its God. Genesis He said He will never punish earth again with water..and a rainbow in the sky is a reminder. God is a loving God. Man caused all his own demise by being disobedient to God's laws.Adhere to it faithfully, and God will provide your need and you will live right. |

There will be many wars, great earthquakes, starvations, pestilences, fearful sights in the sky where the moon is turned into blood and the sun is darkened and the fiery stars fall down, the sea and waves will roar, and men afraid for their lives and what's coming on the earth. Heaven will be shaken, and the whole sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and every eye will see and every ear will hear the coming of the Lord in the clouds, and they will look upon him whom they pierced. Please read Luke 21:8-36. |

America and Christian ministries have long ministered to people here & abroad as long as I remember.
Some people & governments appreciate it, some abuse it. What more can be done?
Wonder why Echad/God hardened a particular Pharaoh's heart? Maybe God knew Exodus Pharaoh was "reprobate" mean, He just made him meaner for His glory!
All Americans would do good to read Lke.13:1-5, & take it to heart.
Echad's/God's Covenant is with His Church [in America], not America! |

For the record Ecclesiastes 8:11: Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Just because sin is not sentenced quickly in a certain area does not mean judgement will not fall. I hope you understand what I am saying now Alan and have a blessed day. |
|
---Justin on 9/23/05 |
Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to all Proverbs 14:34. I'm a servant of Christ before anything. When Jesus admonished us to feed the poor do you think he was talking to a certain country? Jesus spoke to all who would follow him and keep his commandments. There are many followers of Christ in the West that work untiringly to accomplish that which Jesus admonished of us. It is not upon us to judge nations, our job is to make sure we live by the word and to make disciples for Christ. |
|
---Justin on 9/23/05 |
You misinterpret my theme. I hope you read all three of the blogs I posted in succession, however let me explain furthermore. Exodus 33:19 states that god will shew mercy on whomever he pleases. In a previous blog I quoted Ecclesiastes 8:11: just because God's sentence is not executed speedily it is set in man's heart to do evil. What I am saying is that no sin will go unpunished and that it is our job as Christians to point people Christward in order for them to escape the penalty of sin. |
|
---Justin on 9/23/05 |
Justin ... you look at this with an American eye. Is NO among the 50th most corrupt in the USA or in the world? London UK is corrupt, and we have had Gay Pride marches for years ... but no hurricanes yet. And millions are dying of starvation in the world ... is that not a sign of God of our wickedness? Or is God punishing NO because the West does not feed those starving? |
|
---alan8869_of_UK on 9/22/05 |
The Bible speaks of tornado's, hurricanes, floods etc as God's Weapons Of Indignation.Anyone who has been an intercessor for a long time probably understands this. |
|
---Tsuanne on 9/22/05 |
So what's God saying? God is letting sinners know that judgement will fall on all those that don't submit to his will and obey him. Concurrently he is urging his people to make known the gospel of Christ and to produce fruit because if we don't produce good fruit we will be hewn down and cast into the fire (Matthew 7:19). If we abide in his word and are found doing a good work for our lord who sent us, we will be able to stand blameless in the judgement and be found ready in that great day of our lord. |
|
---justin on 9/22/05 |
If we look at the history of the city of New Orleans, we find that they were ranked number one in the top 50 most corrupt cities; and on the day of the hurricane a gay pride parade was scheduled. This hurricane was the judgement of God falling on the city, when sin is finished it bringeth forth death (James 1:15). |
|
---justin on 9/22/05 |
Is Katrina of God? In the 13th chapter of Luke there was a great tragedy in which bystanders told Jesus of, but Jesus replied that just because the people experienced a tragic end doesn't mean that they were sinners above all. All sin is equally sinful and shall not go unpunished. If you offend one point you are guilty of all (James 2:10). God is angry with the wicked everyday (Psalms 7:11), and just because his judgemnt is not executed speedily people are compelled to do evil (Ecclesiastes 8:11). |
|
---justin on 9/22/05 |
If something good happens it comes from God, if something bad happens it comes from God. Poor God, he can't win with some people. What about natural occurances, is that a myth? As one person said, "Nobody can be sure what God is trying to say by sending Katrina to New Orleans". Well, if you don't know his intentions, than don't assume to know God sent Katrina to make a statement. If he wanted to make a statement he could both loud and CLEAR. |
|
---Pat on 9/10/05 |
Katrina, if act of God, is jugement and/or test of faith. We pass or fail on how we respond to the Crisis. The Citizens of New Orleans responded poorly, shooting at police, rescue workers, levee repair men, and ratcheted up the price of the Test. Sadly I fear, as in Revelation 9:20, "they will not repent of the works of their hands." Surely, consequences will befall such a Citizenry of Sin. |
|
---Kpat on 9/8/05 |
The bible says that these things will happen it will get worse.Matthew 24:6-8, Luke 21:25-26. You're right it's up to us to show love and compassion. We as Christians know death is painful yes but if you are born of Christ & faithful to him death is not the end. Phil 1:21. |

Rebecca. You said just exactly what I too fear...more storms are yet to come if God can't get our attention with this one. Perhaps CA will fall into the sea or Nebraska wiped off the map by a tornado, who knows..but GOD WILL GET OUR ATTENTION ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. So Wake up America..there is more to be concerned about than the belly and a roof. PRAY FOR REVIVAL..and people to REPENT OF PERISH. |
|
---Hurrican_Watcher on 9/3/05 |
When the disciples went to Jesus after a great storm arose on the sea, Jesus chided them for their lack of confidence and then rebuked the storm (Matthew 8:23-27). If the storm had been an "act of God" it wouldn't have made sense for Jesus to rebuke it. |

Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. |

---Xanthi on 9/1/05 |
God is trying to open up people's eyes. My Pastor prophicied about this storm, he called it a mighty storm. There are SO many people turning their back on God, making pledges to him that they can't/won't keep. God is angry but yet he does what he does in love. How? I have no idea. God is warning people everywhere. Why do you think so much has happened? He is trying to get people ready for what is to come, because this storm, and the past storms is nothing compared to what is to come. |
|
---Rebecca_D on 8/31/05 |
God's ways are not our ways. He controls the wind and waves. He doesn't cause these horrific things without cause. If it will cause people to fear, repent and seek Him it will serve HIs purpose. It is getting people's attention where all sunshine will not. I'm sure the pain people suffer causes God a great deal of anguish. We don't know the mind of God. HIs ways are always right. HIs ways perfect. |

I find it interesting that we christians have such trouble understanding that GOD could be involved in such destruction..the Bible has no such problem. the writers of the Word understand what we donot GOD IS SOVEREIGN,and all clamitties are atributed to GOD. I beleive that this and 9-11 is a wake up call for us as christians to repent and turn from our sins and he will hear us and heal our land. read romans 1 and Isaiah 5 that is how GOD deals with people and countries |

I don't know about Mississippi, but just look at New Orleans and what it stands for. Mardi Gras and the sinfulness of it, all the casinos, maybe God is trying to tell them something. It is now underwater, completely destroyed. Look at what happened to Sodom & Gammorra. Yes, it was an act of God. God controls everything. Yes, I also believe He wants us to show love & compassion as well. |

Since we have no control over the weather, its usually referred to as an 'act of God', even on homeowner's insurance. Weather happens! Its just a natural law of nature. |
|
---NVBarbara on 8/31/05 |
The Great Flood in the Bible was an act of God, so why can't a hurricane? God works in mysterious ways. Nobody can be sure what God is trying to say by sending Katrina to New Orleans. God knows, and to me, that's all that matters. |
|
---Stephanie on 8/31/05 |
I really feel that a natural disaster is God leaving paths open for both unbelievers and for His children to do much toward Him. We who believe should lift those who have been shaken by the storm up to Him in prayer constantly. In that, those who did not believe may find thier eyes opened to Him. |
