Sometimes Christians lives are hard because we lack knowledge on so many things.Be discerning. Don't give your money away to others unless you feel led by the Holy Spirit. Learn to make sound investments. Put money aside for tough times. Prepare for things before they happen. Keep your credit in good shape. Use very few credit cards. One for emergencies. But we can be blessed with very little material things. Other blessings:good health, love, good spouse, healthy kids, good food etc..

Jesus went through the samethings that we are going through. The each storm that we go through is what makes us stronger to face bigger storms to come and God isn't going to give us storms we can't deal with if His Son didn't go through them first.
---ANN on 10/15/07

God never said this way would be easy. For none of us. Sometimes on this journey, we will be tested in the fire. All the dross has to be burned away first and what is left is what God works with. Don't give up or in to satan. He is a liar and a deceiver. Every Christian will not be rich or even wealthy. You are blessed if you have food to eat and a roof over your head. You have your spouse, health and strength. This is abundance also. Blessing beloved.

The abundant life.
The culture of sponges. Talk shows grant us the power to over analyze ourselves. News shows help us dread things that will never happen. Prosperity gospel tells us to grab everything we can. We're becoming numb to violence and frozen in anger and bitterness.

Scientists say any element that changes everything around it without itself undergoing a change is a catalyst.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest catalyst in our history.

Oh my, what a difference a few years makes.
I'm glad to see the arguments today have "evolved". :-]
---Rose on 3/17/07

Ouch!!! reading some of the back blogs in this one was painful. I pray that you are all maturing nicely. Read Mt 7:13+14. The word "strait" means with difficulty, perplexity, distress, or need. And God said He would not put more upon you than you can handle. And He will not have anyone that is not tried and tested. Also read Js 1:2-4

When Jesus said that "we should have life more abundantly," He wasn't referring to material plenty, but the abundance found in Him as our Lord and Saviour. He told His disciples, and us, that we would have trials and tribulations on this earth. Our abundance is in Heaven. Jesus didn't even have a place to call His own, while He taught on this earth, are we His servants to expect any better?
---tommy3007 on 3/17/07

I used to think I had a bad life with one turmoil after another until I read that we shall enter the kingdom of God with many tribulations. I thought of the parable of Lazerus and the rich man. Proverbs says the rich of this world are the ungodly. Job's entire recorded ministry was in pain and suffering. Jeremiah's ministry was in prison as was much of Paul's. Peter spent much of his life in and out of prison. Paul lists being stoned and shipwrecked. We have it easy and I am ashamed to complain.

God is in control! He doesn't give us more than we can handle IF we lean on Him. He won't leave us comfortless...He has given us His Spirit. Sometimes, I lay on the floor and groan to God because of the pain in my heart, and He always shows up. If we didn't have bad times, I'm afraid we might stray from Him. He loves us too much to let this happen. Count it an honor to be trusted with "pain" because He knows you are mature enough to handle it properly and grow closer to Him

We are also to be partakers of Christ's suffering.Do you love God for who he is or what he can do for you? Are you trying to live Christian life in your own power or are you relying on the Holy Spirit. Christ says "take upon you my yoke, for it is easy." Getting to know the Lord personally can make a really big difference.
---ann_G on 10/7/05

I am not unsympathetic to your suffering. It is hard, yes impossible, to manage our lives without God. Have you ever gotten alone with Him and just told Him how you feel? It's incredible what happens when you do. His love and mercy is there to meet you. Don't be afraid of going to Him with your sorrows and pain. He loves you and wants to bear your burdens for you.
---Patti on 10/2/05

Eloy, I can't believe my eyes. You have some kinda nerve making the statement ...."I've suffered more than....Jesus" -Do you even realize the blasphemous arrogancy of that remark? He suffered way beyond the unbelievable physical torture he went through, but it seems you're too decieved to understand that. You, nor any human who ever live, will ever comprehend his enormous suffering.
---Sissy on 9/12/05

Eloy,I have called myself "Job JR." recently...but I have never "sweat great drops of Blood"as Jesus did in the Garden of G.He said "Father, why hast thou forsaken me"because that was the first time His fellowship was broken(when the entire weight of our sins were on Him).He knows every pain you feel.He knows loss.He even understands your anger and self-pity(& mine too!)He promises a future with hope, tho.I'm praying for you and feel for your hurt.
---lovable_linda on 9/9/05

Eloy, you're right. I don't know you, or what you have been through, but, I can say with absolute authority that whatever your suffering, it cannot compare to what Jesus suffered when He died on the cross. As I said before, you don't understand what Jesus suffered when He hung on that cross. It wasn't the physical suffering, but, the spiritual agony He endured that I'm referring to.
---tommy3007 on 9/8/05

Eloy: How dare you tell me I am not a member of the body of Christ? Who declared you God?

I have been a member of the body of Christ since 1974. Do not ever tell anyone, especially me, that I am not a member. I am more than qualified to encourage and exhort the body of Christ in scriptural matters. I have the Holy Spirit of God living in me, and I am well read in scripture.

The abundant life is one that is built upon
the foundation of the Word of God. Storms come to all, but if we do not have a solid foundation for our lives, when those storms come, we will not survive. If we surrender all of who we are to all of who He is, we will remain intact, and upright, on solid ground...come hell or high water..and that dear friends, to me, is abundant living.

The fact is, all who live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. This truth is not a possibility, but a promise: Before conversion, 2 adversaries exist= Satan, and Almighty God; after conversion, 2 adversaries exist= Satan, and the world.
---Eloy on 9/6/05

Madison, you do not know my life, nor any wraths of God i have been made to endure. Also you must be a part of the body in order to make valid criticism, therefore your judgments are unqualified.
---Eloy on 9/6/05

People put this question 2 me all the time. Why do people equate-I've come 2 give U life 2 the fullest-with wealth? It means 2 live life as best as U can! Born again Christians often make this mistake and there4 drop out...My personal wish for a fuller life would mean, that, there'd be a cure 4 my son, no fame or fortune could do that! There R plenty of people who struggle just like U, some from the day of their birth. Anne

Rebecca, The donkey brays when he has no grass. We are to pray without ceasing, and let our requests be made known to God. Jesus complained about wrongs done to him. He said, foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but I don't have anywhere to lay my head. He said, I showed you many goods works, for which works do you stone me? He said, Papa, Father, take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what you will. And he cried from the cross, My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?

Eloy: I am sorry you have suffered such great, and painful things. However, your suffering cannot even begin to match Christ's because in order for Christ to obtain our salvation and suffer our punishment for our sins, He had to suffer the wrath of God, and be separated from His Father. You and I will never have to suffer God's wrath because Christ has already done that for us. Therefore, I contend, you have not, nor will you ever suffer as Christ did.
---Madison on 9/5/05

Everything we go through with, Jesus already went through it. He had to go through it to see how much we could bare. No he wasn't married, but yet had and felt losses. But Jesus never complained about what he went through with, we too need to learn to stop complaining. I wasn't saying you was complaining Eloy. But if we strive to get closer to God, we will face more tribulation.
---Rebecca_D on 9/5/05

tommy3007, you don't understand because you don't know me. If you knew me then you would know that i speak only truth. i am crucified every day for years, and Christ was crucified once at a young age. Christ was never married nor lost a wife, he never had his children kidnapped, he never had to pay extortion, he never suffered a fatal disease, etc. His earthly suffering was very short. Tommy, i am born-again, and i have been crucified with Christ. So tommy, don't condemn the body nor shoot the messenger.
---Eloy on 9/5/05

Eloy, One quick question. WHEN did you bear the weight of the sin of the whole world? You think you've "suffered more than Jacob, Job, and Jesus put together?" You don't even have an ounce of comprehension of what Jesus suffered, if you believe the comment you made.

Christ did not promise the Cross would not be heavy the hill would not be hard to clime. He never offered Victory with out fighting He said Help would always come in time. Just keep in mind if your headed down the wrong path then the devil isnt worried about you however if you are doing Gods work you are a threat to him keep your head high God is an on time God

We all will go through trials and tests. But we must keep the faith. If you don't have faith in God to help you through, then yes it will be alot harder to go through it. Until we have been through what Jesus went through with, in the flesh, we have not went through nothing. But he didn't complain and tell God, "I quit, I can't do it, it is to hard". He kept on, like we should. keep the faith and fight a good fight.
---Rebecca_D on 9/1/05

Christ said that our lives would be filled with troubles. But, we have the Holy Spirit of God to stengthen, comfort, and work in our lives.

I challenge you to study the lives of some Christians throughout history. The writer of "It is Well With My Soul" lost his wife and all his children in a sunken ship. Missionary Gracia Burnham was held captive for a year with her husband, and he was killed during the rescue.
---Madison on 9/1/05

Sometimes it is hard to know why God allows bad things to happen to us. God's "abundance" is always with us because He sent His Son Jesus Christ to show us the way through our troubles. He is offering you His comfort, His provision, His wisdom and His love. Keep praying and believing. Ask Jesus into your heart; then obey, love, praise and worship Him. Study His Word. Tell others about Him. Attend a Bible-believing church. "Seek Him first then all else will be added to you."

Read These Insightful Articles About Arthritis is full of trials. My family has had nothing but trials for the past two years, yet, I am happy in Jesus, I have peace, food, house, car but I certainly am not rich in material things. God tries us in the fire to make us pure. The fire purges all unrighteousness and refines us.
---shira_5965 on 9/1/05

just because you don't have abundance of material things doesn't mean anything. A life of abundance is being saved, being in a bible believing church with a pastor that doesn't compromise, christian friends, peace in your heart. God didn't promise a life of material prosperity. I was raised poor. We never ate meat because we couldn't afford it. I thought everyone was like us. We were happy with a Godly mother and Dad. We never starved or went hungry either.cont....

i have suffered more then Jacob, Job, and Jesus all put together. We are in a very real war to the death, and our enemy will do everything possible to destroy us, our happiness, our relationship with Christ, and thwart our final destination. When we are persecuted and martyrd it is because we are the chosen of God. If you have a smooth and easy life, then seriously consider your salvation and relationship with Christ. This is not our home, we're just passing through, and we are one day closer to the end.
---Eloy on 9/1/05

Jesus had problems too but he took dominion by speaking to them. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Speak to the mountain of problems before you and they will become a plain. Dont give up. there is God's power inside you. Use it.
