"And in those days (the last days) men's hearts will faint within them at the tossing and the turning of the seas..." (paraphrase) Don't you think we are living in those days right now? Personally, I think the signs are everywhere!

(2 Timothy 3:1-5):

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

No body knows. These signs you've mentioned have been happening for a long, long time. The time will come like a theif in the night. Nobody will know.

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."(Luke 21:34-36)(2 Peter 3:14).

Being [FULL] of the Holy Ghost,a MUST!

Deputy: "God works in 'sevens'..." Don't get caught up in numerology where numbers mean something. That's getting into divination. God does not only "work" in sevens. There were twelve apostles and the twelve tribes. 400 years of captivity. 40 years in the desert and fory days of rain. Three days in the belly of a fish. Two of every animal (at least in one verse). Eighth day for circumcision. Ten toes representing nations. The 144,000, the 666. And the list goes on.

"This thereupon know, that in final days will be present times hard. For the people will be self-lovers, money-lovers, seducers, proud, dissers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, without compassion, slanderers, intemperate, merciless, not lovers of good, betrayers, stubborn, puffed up, pleasure-lovers rather than God-lovers; having a form of piety, but denying the power of it: and of these turn away from." II Timothy 3:1-5

I'm sorry brother, but you're wrong!
Jesus Christ gave many signs in the books of Matthew, Mark and Luke about his return and the 'End of the Age'.
The main clues ly on the Nation of Israel and it's Jewish people!
Luke 21:24 Jesus said "..Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles is fulfilled."
---DePuTy on 3/7/07

In conformity with Roman custom, the Romans changed the name of Judea to 'Syria Palaestina' and Jerusalem to 'Aelia Capitolina'. They also destroyed the Temple and Jerusalem was burned to the Ground! The Jews never regained their land back until May 14, 1948 when they declared the Nation of Israel. Does the 'SIX' day war in the 1960's ring a bell? Israel re-captured Old Jerusalem and the prophecy from Christ came true! The times of the Gentiles had been fulfilled!
---DePuTy on 3/7/07

God works in 'sevens' as we have learned through out the Bible. From Adam/Eve to Noah/flood 2 thousand years passed. From Noah to Christ 2 thousand years passed. From Christ to now/2007 (present) 2 thousand years have passed. 2 PETER 3:8 "To the Lord a day is as a thousand years, a thousand years are as a day." 6 days in the sight of God have passed, All we're waiting for is the return of Christ! The prophecies of Christ are coming to pass as he said they would!
---DePuTy on 3/7/07

Yes we are and have been for a long time. No worries. It doesn't matter if you are living your faith. Even if the world were going to end next Tuesday, you could be hit by a bus on Monday. Be prepared to live your life as if each day were your last and as if you will live to a ripe old age. Always be prepared to meet Jesus and never mind when the end will come. That is not for you or I to know.

Eloy: hi, I pretty much agree with you but I have to say as far as "merciless" being capital punishment, well, my brother was murdered in cold blood in '81 and his killer walked off scot free! His killer should have died for killing my brother; he later went on to molest children and do whatever else--because he got away with murder.

What is the purpose of the speed limit sign? The stop sign? these are signs to warn us of something. Jesus gave us the signs of the end and we must heed its warnings. We don't need to worry about the world around us because God promised to protects us during this time. Our jobs now is to go out into the world and spread the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, to heal, to comfort, to feed the poor and needy - all in the name of Jesus.
---Steveng on 3/6/07

Absolutely, I will go so far as to say that, God is getting ready any moment to open the first seal of Revelation. Please everyone, hope you won't be upset. The time is now here. Ask God for discernment, we should all have it as christians. Yes, Repent, Repent For the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand.

I choose not to attempt to interpret the sign of the times.

SO MANY have done so and been SO WRONG, there could be another 3000 years before we see the Lord coming to earth again, look for it, but don't let the thought distract you.
---Pharisee on 3/6/07

Why would someone call himself Pharisee when Jesus constantly rebuked the scribes and pharisees for their outward show of "goodness" while their inward man was corrupt and wicked? I just think it is ironic that Pharisee would be the one who would scoff at this question.
---Puzzled on 9/19/05

Yes, I KNOW we are in the last days (last moments actually) 1 Thes 5:6 says "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." This scripture is warning us, the true church, not to listen to people like Pharisee, which is exactly what the enemy WANTS us to believe. Jesus is coming soon, and he's coming back for a bride who has made herself ready and is LOOKING for him!
---MH on 9/18/05

Every time we have some catastrophe or another, there will be those who say the last days are here. Perhaps this is so today BUT, Matthew 28:19-20 makes it very clear the real focus of our Christian life. Once we have Jesus living in our hearts, we are COMMANDED to spread the Gospel and disciple His people. The more hours we spend on this last days issue, the less time we are spending on spreading the Gospel. Leave our destiny in the hands of Abba Father - He's the only One who has the time clock.

Only Gods Choosen will discern the coming of Christ and we are living in a grest time here in the earth for God is fullfilling his word thru the church and it has started with the Hurricane Katrina so let us shine in a dark world its not the governments place to rally around disaster but we as God's bride. Let Gods people arise and our enemies be scattered.

Ever since Christ rose from the grave, we have been living in the last days. Wake up people!!! He could come back any second!!!
We need to stop worrying about it and start reaping!
---Julie3763 on 9/15/05

I don't trust a paraphrased bible. Theres too much room for error through man's opinion.
Stay close to God and I believe that He will show you the signs.
---John on 9/14/05

The signs are not important? Of course they are! Else Jesus would not have told his disciples to be watchful nor would He have explained what those signs would be. Anyway, I agree that we should live every day as if it were our last. Also, we should be looking for our redemption that "draweth nigh" while sharing the good news with others.

It's plain in II Timothy 3:1-5 that we are in the last days, especially when it prophesies that men will be "without natural affection" that's homosexuality, and "merciless" that's capital punishment, "slanderers" that's maligning the innocent, "not lovers of good", and "lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God". Yes, we are here folks, we are in the last days.
---Eloy on 9/14/05

We are told that we will not be able to work out the day and time. We are, however, told to be ready for He will come when no man knoweth.
---Xanthi on 9/14/05

These signs have always been with us. You can even find reference in the NT where they were of the opinion they were in the last days. The best thing we, (as Christians) can do is be ready. If we are ready, the signs are not important - but we need to make sure non-Christians at least have the opportunity to be ready!

I have heard all my life through different elderly people, that when America goes to war with Germany, you can bet we are in the last days. I don't know how true that is, but I do know that the signs are everywhere. This world is getting worse, and it isn't getting better. We need to live for God like today is our last day, because it very well could be.

The signs of the times according to Christ himself was evident when he had risen. As far as us living in the end times I do believe that the signs are more evident. But it also says only God knows the day and the hour. Keep those lamps filled. End times or not, OUR days on earth are numbered. Whether it is a few hours or 100+ years they are still numbered and they are as a vapour.

The signs of the end Luke 12:40 \ 17:20-36 \ 21:8-28 as the days of Noah, and the days of Lot. Homosexuality is common and accepted. No one knows when Jesus will come in the clouds.

Some wisdom I found a long time ago. It is how I sign all my correspondence.
"In times like these it's good to know there have always been times like these..." Good to know the every day Good News!
---Leo on 9/13/05

We are indeed in the very last days. We have all heard of wars, rumors of wars, pestilences, famines, earthquakes, and countless distresses. Yet, today anyone who turns on a News broadcast can see that desperation and devastation is all around us, in every corner of the globe. In Matt.24:33 Jesus said, "When ye shall see ALL these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." Please all who read ,"prepare for Christ` return! " Accept Him as Your Savior today. God bless you all.

I agree with you that we are living in the 'last days' but I think that it is more important that we live as though every day were our last day!
