Read the Bible and you will find the answer to these questions. The Bible can say it better than i can.

Why is this even a post? It's so rediculous that people consider this. I agree with helen this is like blastphamy. Leonardo D'Vinci was a blastphamer to come up with this because it has led so many astray. But food for thought: On his dying bed leonardo quoted, "I have Offended God" meaning I have made a mistake. Don't buy into this crap.

Theresa:- There are thousands of women young and old, bold and beautiful, imaginative & unimaginative who think LIKE YOU .The queu is unending since creation.Thought I should bring this to your attention.

There is not the slightest hint in Scripture or early church writings that Jesus was married.
---Ktisophilos on 7/5/07
You are right about there is no suggestion of it. The so called Judeans of today, who started this concept to throw Christians off track. The tainting of Christ goes back quite a ways through Jewish Talmud, as you probably know. Others may not. They claim Christ was born out of wedlock by a Roman Soldier, Pandira if I remember name right. With some other vulgar insinuations about Mary and her time of month.
GOD was married though. Because of the marriage (Jer)/divorce/remarriage (Hosea) Christ died. Which most don't realize.

Jesus and Mary if you take the time to read the bible and stop denying everything that people don't agree with or want to argue over.
BIG DIFFERENCE between a novel and Gods Holy Word
"relationship" only exists in minds of those who love fables created ..idea "sacred feminine" absorbed from pagan customs traditions (gods and goddesses) ...nothing unusual since mother of all whores has elevated biological human Mother of Christ to same status as pagan queen Ishtar
Christ will destroy all systems on earth including this system (Rev 17) to become Lord of Lord and King of Kings restoring Gods Government (Gods Kingdom) on earth (Matt 6:13)
---Rhonda on 1/15/09|
Jesus was not and is not married yet. Jesus told me that He would marry me when I get up to Heaven and has reaassured me that He has not been married before.
---Theresa on 1/14/09|
No she wasn't a disciple, she was a true devoter, follower. If Jesus had a favorite it would be John. I don't know why but that is what came to me. No they weren't married. That is plan as the nose on one's face.
---Rebecca_D on 8/12/08|
If Jesus were married all of the scriptural references to eunuchs that seek the things that please God would be of no profit. He said "I always do them things that please my Father." Not himself. But then again, many can't see those spiritual types and shadows of he who would give his life a ransom for our sins.
---Frank on 7/6/07|
It is blasphemy to even consider such a thought.
---Helen_5378 on 7/5/07|
it is recorded in the bible that Jesus loved only three people. Lazarus, Mary Magdelene and Martha. the death of Lazarus is the only time it states, Jesus wept from his love for him as a friend. John the beloved was also loved by Jesus Christ and was told he would never taste of death until his second coming. Many scriptures speak of a special relationship between Jesus and Mary if you take the time to read the bible and stop denying everything that people don't agree with or want to argue over.
---ashley on 7/5/07|
There is not the slightest hint in Scripture or early church writings that Jesus was married. A major reason for marriage is to multiply, yet Jesus is called "The Last Adam" (1 Cor. 15:45), indicating finality. He came to die for our sins, then conquer death.
---Ktisophilos on 7/5/07|
Since only canonized Biblical replies are allowed, I cannot state what I believe about the Gnostic Gospels, but throughout the ages, both Christ's divinity AND his attributes as a human being have been stressed. To see him as completely asexual negates him as human - at least to some degree. He wasn't only a man when he was on the cross. He was, in fact, a human being for a much longer time than his recorded ministry.
---DanV on 7/5/07|
No where in Scripture does it state that Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus. She was a follower of Christ so in that sense was a disciple but not in the sense that some are implying. God says favoritism is sin so it seems rather absurd that Jesus would play favorites.
---Tsuanne on 7/4/07|
Yes, although obviously not one of the Twelve, Mary M. was a follower (disciple) of Jesus. I don't think that Jesus had any favorite followers (although John seems to think that he was Jesus favorite disciple), and there is no Biblical proof that Jesus played any favorites. No proof from either secular or Biblical sources that Jesus married.
---harold on 7/4/07|
No, she was not one of the disciples, she followed Christ and considered a disciple with the rest of those who followed him. She did not bring the first message, nor did she marry Jesus.
---sally on 7/4/07|
Lori Beth::NO she was not persay a chosen Apostle; but diciple yes as a follower of Jesus,& one of the 72 pupils of Jesus. My question, deep in the recesses of your heart what do you think, as you asked the question.
---Emcee on 7/4/07|
A wife is a helpmeet. She's a companion & helps mankind multiply. Marriage helps us avoid sexual immorality & provides stability for children. Messiah didn't need a helpmeet, didn't need companionship, nor did He need to multiply His seed. Not saying this is ALL a wife or marriage is, but these are primary roles established by Elohim. Also, Messiah couldn't esteem anyone higher than others (He's no respector of persons) as He would have had to do for a wife. A wife, for Him, was unnecessary.

** It is recorded Jesus only truly loved three people in the New Testament. Lazarus, whom it is recorded Jesus wept, when he heard he had died, Mary Magdeleine and Martha.**
Ashley, I don't know WHERE it says that Jesus loved either Mary Magdalene OR Martha. Can you enlighten us.
But there's one man for sure the scripture says Jesus loved: the Rich Young Ruler.

Isaiah 53:2...he hath no form or comeliness;and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him
---Kim on 7/4/07|
Yet after Jesus rose from the dead, Mary Magdelene addressed Him as "teacher" not "husband", or even by His first name.
During the time of Christ, the Essenes practiced an aestheticism that forbade marriage - they took the Law to the extreme and denounced other Jewish sects as sinful.
---lorra8574 on 6/23/07|
It is recorded Jesus only truly loved three people in the New Testament. Lazarus, whom it is recorded Jesus wept, when he heard he had died, Mary Magdeleine and Martha. Mary was the first person to see him resurrected. She is mentioned more times in the new testament than everyone else combined. that includes his own mother Mary.
---ashley on 6/23/07|
** one of these is be fruitful multiply.**
We know from the Bible that not all prophets of the OT married. Are you so bold as to say that they were violating God's commandment?
Even among animals (such as wolves or Canadian geese), not all reproduce.
---Jack on 6/23/07|
yes i believe they were some food for thought.Jesus was perfect. this means he would have to follow all of Gods comandments and if he did not he would not be perfect. one of these is be fruitful multiply.in mark ch 2 verse 1 it states that Mary Magdaline anointed his feat hebrew law stated that on family may annoint a family member and she did this.
3)By hebrew law only married men can be teachers if he was not married then he would be breaking a law and beings he was perfect he would not break a law
---bill on 6/23/07|
No, she was a follower of Christ but not one of the 12 discplies. Was she a favortie of Jesus? No, no where in the Bible does it say she was Jesus favorte. No, Jesus was single and ascended single.
---micha6835 on 5/16/07|
Mary was forgiven of her sins by Jesus. Jesus has no favorites. And Jesus never married.
---Eloy on 11/3/05|
It says in 1Cor.7:8,"Now to the unmarried and the widows, I say:It is good to stay unmarried as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry." Jesus had nothing but control. God Bless
---Robin on 11/3/05|
Jesus was God incarnate. He knew he was here a short time. He would not have married and purposely left a widow and fatherless children. He is too full of compassion to do that.
---Tsuanne on 9/29/05|
Lori Beth, This is a good question. No, Jesus was not married or the bible would say it. He had no time to be married, He had a specific job to do that no one else on earth could do. Mary was a repentant believer in Jesus and turned out to be a good woman.
We as believers are to be the bride of Christ. God bless you.
---John on 9/23/05|
Just for the record, I have NOT read The DaVinci Code. Several biblical scholars believe these things, I was merely asking for readers' opinions of the theory, not opinions of me or my beliefs.
---LoriBeth on 9/22/05|
Like with any child that had gone astray, but had returned home, Christ was delighted to have her return to him. It is just like any of us when we return to him. He opens his arms to us and gets a big smile on his face. As for Jesus being married, he was like the 144,000 in Revelations, He was Jewish, a male, and a virgin.
---geraa7578 on 9/22/05|
No, Jesus never married. We Christians who are serious know by the Word and the Spirit that all truth is made manifest. People are hower incited by the father of lies to entertain contradictory issues, we should thank God for our faith, knowing that we are more than conquerors.

No, no, and no. It was Jesus and his 12 boys, representative of the 12 princes of Israel. And Jesus was solitary, he never married.

Jesus was NOT MARRIED to ANYONE ever. Think you need to read books on truth rather than falsehood. Read the Bible that has it all in truth.

Mary Magdalene was not one of Jesus' disciples although she was a follower. There is no scriptural evidence that Jesus had any favorites although it is said that John was much loved.....Nothing verifies that Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus.....however, she certainly believed in Him and supported His mission. When in doubt, Lori Ann, read the Bible and ask Jesus to come into your heart (if you have not done so)....you are greatly loved by Him and that makes you very special!

No! No! and No!
Luke 8:2 He took seven devils out of Mary Magdalene.
John 11:1-45 Jesus loved Martha, and her sister Mary, and brother Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead.
John 12:1-7 Mary anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. Jesus said, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
---Ulrika on 9/21/05|
No Mary Magdalene was not married to Jesus there is no scripture that says they were married the only marriage that will even take place in the hereafter is the true church which is the people of today that truely are born again are to be married to Jesus who is the head of the church
---Carrie on 9/21/05|
I would guess you've probably just read "The DaVinci Code." Yes, Mary Magdalene was a disciple, in that she was a follower of Jesus and a student, she was not an Apostle, nor was she Jesus' wife. Jesus never married. Most, if not all of the information in this book is totally in error, don't be fooled by it's apparent "authority".

Dear friend to start:
Please read the Bible and not the DiVinci Code.
Mary was not Jesus' favorite, I am.
---Elder on 9/21/05|
There is nothing in scripture to indicate that Mary was Jesus favourite as far as I know, and we are certainly not told that Jesus married anyone. As for her being a disciple, yes, in the same way that we are. Another rumour that you might hear about Mary is that she was a prostitute. Scripture does not say that either. She is often portrayed as one in films and musicals but you won't find it in the bible.
