Does God Meet All Our Needs

Does God meet ALL our needs when we give very sacrificially? My husband lost his job 5/04. I'm in my 50's disabled. We were $3000 in debt. I'd hoped yrs. for a house not renting. Now it's $20,000 debt & climbing. I've always been a great steward with God's money.

God does take care of His own. it may not be to give you every thing you want. sometimes we are not good stewards of what God has given us. sometimes we expect too much. we must give to receive. we cannot sit on our hineys and expect God to just hand us everything little thing we want.

It is written,
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thess. 5:16-18). It's hard to give thanks to God when things are very bad. But we have to remember this other passage,
"speaking to one another songs, psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God" (Eph. 5:19-21). Why?
cause believers thankfulness is for who God is and for what He has done through His Son our Savior and Lord, who died for us. His Son's death was worse then our problems.

Of sufficiency,

His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9)

and
Matthew 6:34 (KJV)
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 6:34 (ESV)
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I have one friend who lost her job recently, and another in Greece whose husband has been without a job for 4 years.

I get asked for some help, but what I make (I have no credit rating), and neither has good enough credit to borrow anything

And my wife is disappointed when I help them, for she knows that we do not have 'extra' money, just that I will reduce my spending

According to the widows' mite, having little did not keep her from giving because she was abundance minded.

While having riches kept the rich man from giving because he was lack minded.

Has anyone heard from Darline? I have been asking for a while. If someone has any news, it would be so nice to bring it. Blessings to all.

God does not need your sacrifices! His only requirement for His chosen people are to obey and follow Him. Are you serious in these things? "If you love Me you Will obey Me". Well, Jesus said it....We are to be good stewards, is true, however, It seems somehow, you have messed up. I am very sorry for your dilemma. I am not exactly jogging around house, anymore.

His grace is sufficient.

Sufficient is the trouble for the day.

Of renting verses homeownership, some home honors find it cheaper and better to rent. Ownership belongs to God. We only have temporary titles. Most Americans are in debt. Be glad you didn't buy a house. Do not pay your taxes and find out who owns your place or miss your mortgage payments and find out who owns the house. Be glad you are only $20,000 in debt. I am soon to be $60,000 and have a brother more than $400,000.

It always amases me how christians judge people who experience problems. Wake up dudes it can happen with you also. I have seen many times how the wheel turns. Let's face it, we have no clue why God operates the way he does. You try and figure it out, when things go tough on you and sometimes years pass before things improve a little bit. The bottom line is this: We are living in a cruel world. Jesus was crusified, the disciples were martyred and history is full of tales how christians paid dearly with their lives.

Darlene, you mean much more to Him than the all the fowls of the air Matt. 6:26, so please do not doubt His care. He is no respecter of persons.

Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that you fill Darlene with so much of your love and Lord I ask You to give her perfect understanding of Your Will for her life. Guide her & protect her from the enemy's fiery darts. Fill her with hope & faith. And Lord, I ask that you put the perfect job in her path & her husbands path to support every need. And Lord, I ask that You give them perfect understanding of their needs & wants. And give them a vision Lord, for Your Word tells us that without a vision the people perish. AMEN!!!

Jesus told us to seek first the Kingdom of
Heaven and THEN all the rest would be
added to us. I went through times where I
realized I was seeking the Kingdom in order
to get those other things. But, the more
I seek the Kingdom, those other things
become not first to me. Then I see how
Jesus's words are truth. I think we are
to keep on seeking the Kingdom of God
for every hour of our life. The faith
to receive the blessings of God and have
our needs met comes with the Kingdom of
God. When things mean less to us, God
can trust us to not make them our Lord.
Yet, it is the Holy Spirit that works in
us to separate us from the flesh things
of the world.

This reasoning can be awsome. God will lead us into stiff trials, We may never understand. You and me can do everything right, it seems, and still trouble comes. The important thing is to make it to heaven. No more worries. God is going to provide for us throughout eternity magnificently, my friend. Those who actually makes it to heaven.

Darlene: Let me tell you a little "Secret" We get what we focus on the most. Re-read you post. you put some much energy into worries. God provides what we need when we are in alignment with what he asks of us. (to keep his commandments) If you have Faith the size of a mustard seed you can move a mountain. Focus on the things you are grateful for and the things you WANT in your life and those things will be given. Have faith that God will provide, put it in his hands.

Anthony, God did not tell you to be financially irresponsible, You are the one that messed up, don't blame God. God has no obligation to undo things that you did. This may be a learning experience for a member of the elect, or may be you just did not make the team.

God has NOT met our needs. We lost our home to foreclosure, we still have stuff in the house unable to afford to move it out. We are in debt my kids are in desperate needs. My son has cerebral palsy.

God has REFUSED to hear my plea and meet our needs.

Forget about the desires even our most pressing needs He has ignored. After King David killed Uriah, God told David He would have done even more if all he had done was not enough. Has he said that to you or me?

There was a rich farmer who worked his fields everyday including Church time. His neighbor, a dedicated Christian, served the Lord each time the church was open and gave also.
When they went to market the rich farmer received more money. He asked, "Where is God now?" The Christian said, "God does not settle all His accounts in Oct."
You have your house you just have not moved in yet, and there are greater things in store for you on this earth.
Read Luke 6:38.

Bless you for your honest post. I am many years weary of hearing the blessed person they drag out as an example of why tithes work.
The disabled, the poor, some retired living on social security after working all their
lives barely making enough to exist, people with many family obligations should not be made to feel guilty about what they should give to a church.
I sincerely pray that your circumstances improve greatly and thank you again for sharing your story.

"My God SHALL supply all of your needs according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus." WHO IS IN CHRIST JESUS? The body of Christ. Why isn't your church helping you? OR individuals in your church? This is where other Christians need to reach out to you and GIVE you money and food. "GIVE and it SHALL be given unto you." WHY IS THE BODY OF CHRIST FAILING IN THIS AREA? Don't they understand they are "In Christ Jesus."

God can and will meet all your needs. Trust Him and turn over to Him every area of your life. God said in His word that we are not to worry about what we shall wear, or eat....for He knows we have need of such things and will bring it to pass in His timing, not ours
---taylor on 10/28/05

He does meet our NEEDS, but he also said in the word to owe no man anything. If we get ourselfs in debt, He is under no obligation to pay our debts. Sometimes He will, sometimes He wont, That is totally His decision but not His obligation.

5. I was asked that question, why do the books keep telling us to not do this or else? As Christians we don't know everything about God and when we read something, God's Word hits our hearts and we look at ourselves at what we are doing and we correct it by coming in repentance. We would not feel the conviction if we never read God's Word. The Holy Spirit reveals the things of God and convicts us. If the Spirit of God is in us, we will change. If not then His word is only a story with no power.
---Lupe2618 on 9/29/05

God promises to meet all our needs. We must be sure we understand the difference between need and want.

Sally, I will understand your post if you come from a third world country, just like me, where internet usage is quite expensive. But mind that the poster is qouting in US dollars. If she comes from the country where I am, then her debt would be in terms of hundreds of thousands. No poor would have a debt with that amount in my country! The poster must be from the USA.
---bebet3754 on 9/27/05

What God sees as our "needs" and what we see as our "needs" are not necessarily the same thing! He said he will supply our "needs" not our "wants". Although sometimes He does if we are faithful to him and appreciate what He does for us.

PART ONE:
Psalms 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."

"God" did not say this. David did. A study on this passage by a Jewish rabbi sheds light on this concept. He points out that DAVID is saying if he sees God's people in need, he will not stand by and simply wish them well. He will feed them.
---Bruce5656 on 9/27/05

PART TWO:
See the similar concept in 1 John 3:17, "But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?"

There are many christians around the world that ARE starving AND dying.
---Bruce5656 on 9/27/05

PART THREE:
Speaking of the faithful the author of Hebrews says: Hebrews 11:36-39, "And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained

PART FOUR:
a good report through faith, received not the promise:"

How does that go together with the teaching that God will meet EVERY material need? Just because they did not have their material needs met in this life, does not mean that they were any less faithful than the Abrahams and Moses and all the others listed in the previous part of chapter 11, but there were those who did not see the answer to their prayers in this life.

Sally,
Your comment seems rather unfair given that internet access is available for free in libraries etc.
---Bruce5656 on 9/27/05

To Sally: You shouldn't judge someone's financial status by their internet usage. My niece is very poor but she uses the internet on a regular basis----at the local public library (for free). Sometimes people have internet access at their workplace also that employees can use at lunch and breaktime. I do agree with you that at home, my internet service would be one of the first things to go if I encountered financial problems.
---Nan on 9/27/05

My answer is yes. Recently in church one of the sermons advised that sometimes God sends us through trials for a reason. To perfect Gold it must tried by fire. The blessing is in going through. As hard as it seems, I've never seen the righteous forsaken. Are you starving? Let me know, I will send my last to feed you. I'm sure you'll never reach that point. Remember Job. You are in my prayers. Pray also for me.

How does a person say that they are a great steward with God's money if they keep getting further and further in debt? this is not the first time I've seen someone post online when they are in financial trouble. It seems to me that if I couldn't pay my bills, the internet would be one of the first things I could do without.

"God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in Glory." God says, "I've never seen my seed forsaken or begging for bread". You are a child of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. Eveything that belongs to Jesus belongs to you because you are part of a rich inheritance. Hold on, have Faith, it is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. Without faith, you have nothing. Trust God!
