I think some things happen to us because God wants us to grow from them, some things happen because this world, since the fall of man, has been an inherently dangerous place, and some things happen because of choices we make, good and bad.

But I do think God holds us responsible for the things that we can control and the choices we make, but through the salvation of Christ, we are forgiven for the sins we have committed.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "Plans to prosper you not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future."

To answer your two questions in a manner of simplicity and openness: Think of it as "God knows everything." For instance: God knows what you will do, however, that doesn't mean he makes you do it. He is thee Alpha and Omega etc. Beginning and end. He knows what will come, and what started it all. Thus you can still arguably believe in choice, or if you prefer, God's will over everything :-)

Sister Madison, your answer was great. God does have a plan and will accomplish His plan. That is the reason our hope is in Him. Not on chance, luck or even fate. If we only believe. A person lost, does not see God's plan.

Christians don't live by fate chance or luck. We live by faith in Christ. There is no luck in our lives but faith. I mean Christians. Does God hold us responsible? Yes He does for Adam was our representative, and because of Him the world is in sin. Why He made him our representative I sure don't know because he was a lousy one at that. But God is just and His decision was holy and right.

1. No. God does.
2. God has given us a free will, therefore we are responsible for any decision we make.

God controls all

I believe we control our own destiny. We are free to choose the path and decisions we desire.GOD will never "make" us do anything,HE will urge us and encourage us to do things HIS way,but HE never "makes" us!!!
But HE does know ALL THINGS even the decisions we will make and ,i believe.HIS overall plan allows for our decisions.
As far as does HE hold us responsible...YES....We reap what we sow...be it in this life or the next we will reap!! IMO

2. He took responsibility for giving Adam a choice. He holds us responsible for what He has revealed to us. Just as a child gains responsibiility as he matures, so the born again believer moves from being a babe to a mature son. In that move, there is more privilege but also more responsibility.

1. No. As spirit beings with a mortal body or tent, we are subjected to a lot of things that we are not subject to. We can bow our hearts to circumstances or we can bow our hearts to Him. He'll never calm the storm around you until He calms the storm in you.

Fate has no rule over ones life.God created us and gave us the ability to choose good over bad.It is in this decision making do we experience the consequences of our choices.Emotions are a choice to!!

Judith, my answer to your question #1 is: I am a Christian and I don't believe in "fate" to rule our lives. God has given as the "free will" to decide for the best to come to our lives! My answer to your question #2 is: Of course, God is giving us all the chances for us to conduct our own lives. He gives us the intellect, the potentials, and the free will to become the best of what we can be. Having given us ALL THE FREEDOM, then WE ARE the MOST RESPONSIBLE of our RESPECTIVE LIVES!
