On your knees in sincere repentance and asking Jesus to revive you and to make you more bold and offensive towards those antiChrist dissers. If a misjudger criticizes me, like for dancing in the Spirit of the Lord, then I dance even harder and I may grab others, perhaps even that dead beat badmouther and pull them into the Spirit of God and into the freedom to dance. No nonChristian flesh will succeed in quenching God's free Spirit, many fools have tried, but when God is for us then whom can be against us?

If you allowed what people to say to you cause you to turn from God perhaps you were a little on the fakes side.

Alot of people are serving God to please men and to achieve a certain confidence and honor with the people around them.

People will also mimic bad practices form those around them ie faking spiritual things.

What you must do is get that same kind of relationship with God that your trying to get with people.

Where your trying to please Him by mimicking Him through His Word.

And forget what other people think of you.

but bassically it is because you have not reached the faith and confidence David had.
2samuel 6:21-22 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

andre9879, here's the truth according to Jesus Christ, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44

Unless the Father has given you to His Son before the foundations of the world, you will never be His adopted son to begin with, regardless of what you say or think. There's no way that when God declares that He love Jacob, He was never going to save Jacob regardless of his sinful ways. It's a promise and God never breaks His promise to His Son.

What you were and are experiencing is similar to the parable of the sower. I suggest you read it in Matt 13:3-23, Mk 4:2-20, Lk 8:4-15. Luke 8:4-15.

Linda, great advice you gave. At my work we have a Bible class. I notice a sister not coming for a long time. I happen to run into her in the hallway one day. I asked her why she was not coming anymore, and she said, sometime back she had an argument with a co-worker and the co-worker told her she was a hypocrite because of her believes. So she just stop following Christ. I told her that many of us make mistakes, but we can take it as a lesson or not. That nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. And that she should not allow anyone or anything to move her away from Christ. She came back to the studies and moved forward.

Many may not say this to you because of selfrightiousness. You left God only in your thoughts, belief, and your heart was covered with guilt. GOD NEVER LEFT YOU. He is still there as He was, still the same, meaning, anytime you like to refocus back on Him (repent) You'll see He is as He was, still loving you. He knows the enimy lied to you...and knows you will return. No condemnation to those in Christ. He loves you. You are UNDER GRACE. For those who condem, I did say repent...A TURNING of ones belief, thoughts and actions. Do not condem!
---Linda5994 on 5/11/11

David also drifted from God, so do as he did repent and ask for forgiveness, it's that simple. You know the rest, so I don't believe anyone needs to tell you that.
---willa5568 on 4/21/11

To come back to God you must do the following: (1) Repent (confess and turn from sins) (Luke 13:3, 1 John 1:9), (2) Trust in Jesus Christ by believing and confessing that He died and rose again and that He is Lord (Romans 10:9-10).

Keep dancing for God, because that is what the enemy hates about you and was trying to block. People look at the outside BUT God looks at the heart. If you know you are sincerely doing your best to please God, loving Him with everything you got, then don't worry about what other people have to say. You should pray for them considering they are being used by the enemy to discourage you. Sometimes it's gonna be just you and God. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world and If God be for you, who can be against you. Dance baby dance!
---treezia on 4/13/11

I want so much to tell you that God is waiting for you! He will meet you right where you are! Just talk to Him. Read Luke 15: 11-32 and focus on this sentence: But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him, he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him" He was so excited he couldn't wait for his son, he had to run and meet him. You have brought His Kingdom so much joy by dancing in the Spirit. Do not let others cause you to stumble. Keep your eyes on him, and realize that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy - don't let him succeed at causing you to lose another moment away from your Father who loves you so much. I pray that your relationship is restored even now.
---nancy5347 on 4/11/11

David didn't dance with joy every time he came into the city. He danced in the Spirit whens the Spirit w/in him was wild with joy! Just purpose in your heart to do whatever He moves you to do, when He moves you to do it, even if it means personal humiliation. Having done that, wait upon the Lord and renew your strength (which is your joy in the Lord). Worship Him in Spirit and Truth and quit worrying about how that happens. You can't put God in a box. Allow Him to have His way, whether He moves you to cry, run, or sit quietly. Man looks on the outward appearance (even us), He looks on the heart. As you forget yourself and look upon Him your joy will return.
---Thusfar on 4/11/11

Why would you allow someone's opinion of your zeal for God to put out your flame? God uses people, but so does the devil! If you're waiting for the presence of the Lord in order to praise Him with dancing, then you've got your worship backwards! He inhabits the praise of His people! You never lost your fire! You just quit fanning it! Get to praising Him already! You'll see that He's waiting on you to dance! He'll dance when you're ready to get on the floor! Who cares what anyone else thinks! You're dancing for Jesus! Let the party poopers stay in the pews!!! God bless!

I challenge anyone interested in worshiping the Lord to use the following pattern.

1. Be in remembrance of the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Maybe privately take communion in your home home and/are by yourself if necessary.

2. Bring your conversation to acknowledge, about what you believe concerning the blood of Jesus Christ, read what the Bible has to say about the blood of Jesus Christ. Make a conscious effort to mention the blood of Jesus Christ in your prayer and worship time.

The result of this will be that the Holy Spirit will come upon you, will manifest himself through and to You. You will derive great benefit from this type of worship!
---mima on 2/6/09

Andre- Seems like somebody has made you feel self-conscious about worshipping freely and openly. Then I think, having taken it to heart, you began to doubt...not doubt God... doubt yourself.

YOU know in your heart why you worshipped as you did. Was it out of overflowing love for your Lord? If it was, it was a true sacrifice of praise. Ask the Lord to give you peace and confidence.
If you had in mind a desire to impress others, you fell into a common trap of the enemy. Confess this to the Lord, and, like David, ask Him to restore a right spirit within you.

In the privacy of your own home or bedroom, you can pray and worship fearlessly as you feel led.. Do this, and ask God for like-minded Christians to fellowship with.

God said that He would never leave us or forsake us, that even when we are faithless He is faithful, that nothing could separate us from His love. Just get down on your knees with repentance of Godly sorrow, tell Him you're sorry and ask Him through the Holy Spirit to give you the wisdom and power to overcome your faults and weaknesses that caused you to drift away. Ask Him to guide you down the path of righeousness. A true brother or sister would not call you a fake!

Joh 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

Brother who was stopping this man from coming whole, was it not the men around him.
I do not listen to other, the spirit of God, the one he himself give you. The one you have inside you has all the power you need. More power than all the books, men, teachers in this world. Look no further than this. The kingdom of God is within you.
Keep it to yourself, forever!
A man.

I am forever asking God not to let me drift. How you manage to drift only you and God knows. I just NEED HIM so desperately. In the first year that I was saved, it was my number one prayer. Have a good day.

God checks people's hearts and his standards are not human standards. what people say or see is just their perspective.

you have a personal relationship with God. use it, tell him what you feel and what hurts you. for one thing he already knows everything, another is that your honesty to yourself would be a springboard for jump-starting your spiritual life.

we all have bad moments, that makes us human, we have God in all our moments, that is why ultimately everything should turn out alright.

God loves you

If you're coming "back" to God, that means that you're backsliding. If you truely want to come back to God, you must be spiritually broken. That means that you have to reach the point that you will do anything to be back in God's good graces. It usually involves tears, and heart-felt-"I'm sorrys". It's not easy by any means but it's one of the best feelings in the world, to know that you're back by jesus' side, walking with Him!:)
---Michelle on 12/18/07

In the scriptures, the Pharisees called Jesus Christ a fake. Do not let men or Satan turn you away from the love of God. The more men or Satan kick you down, get back up like Paul did and keep going. These is where fellow saints will help keep you motivated. Let the Body of Christ put that fire back in you. We all stumble from time to time, but the strong get back up and keep going. Be strong my brother.
---gerraa7578 on 10/14/05

Just because you are not jumping for joy and dancing, does not mean you don't love God. Many love God in different ways. When I heard the song, "feel the nails" by Ray Boltz, it just broke my heart. He didn't want to hurt Christ anymore but wanted to be a good person. Yet everytime he sinned he felt he was putting the nails back in Jesus. Oh, the love we have for Christ is like no other brother. Nothing can take that love away from us.
---Lupe2618 on 10/14/05

4. If you have sinned, then repent and make right what you did. I knew a sister that stopped coming to Bible study at work. I met her eight weeks later and ask why she was not coming, she told me that she got angry with a co-worker and the co-worker told her she was a hypocrite, so she stopped studying just because of what she was told. She begin to doubt her own salvation. I told her we all make mistakes, to ask for forgiveness to the co-worker in a humble way, and God would use that for a good purpose.
---Lupe2618 on 10/14/05

3. Doubting our salavtion is a victory for the enemy. That is why I am so against many saying they can lose their salvation. They doubt their relationship with Christ and soon they too are walking to the prince of the air. In His army for a time until they see their mistakes and many times it could cost a lot. We are in God's army all the time, you will make mistakes but never doubt your salvation. If you think you are not saved then make a commitment to Christ.

2. along with a strong trust in God in the midst of difficult circumstances (Matt. 17:20). Other times we make a mistake and get angry or don't agree with someone and they judge us and tell us that is not becoming of a Christian. You see Andre, if you want to know how to judge a Christian just ask a lost person. He knows. They will see all the things you do. When they judge us we began to have doubts ourselves. And the enemy would have done his job. Doubting our salvation is a victory to Satan.
---Lupe2618 on 10/14/05

Brother Andre, don't be surprised that this happened to you. It happens to many Christians and mostly after about six years. Many are told that been in Christ is so wonderful and everything will be great and they believe that. Later they find out there is still many problems and persecution from others and their faith begins to dimemish. Other times we don't exercise our faith in persistent prayer and endurance in intercession,
---Lupe2618 on 10/14/05

Andre, having been there myself, all you need to do is turn around, He's right there, closer than your breath. He never left, you did, so its you who can just turn around. Remember He's right there! Listen to some Hillsong worship music to get a revelation of His love and your heart will open up. Nothing else will matter.
---lisa on 10/14/05

Andre: I believe that the most important thing in our relationship with the Lord is honesty and openness in our relationship with Him. How that is expressed will change and grow in various ways throughout our lives. I prefer to have a close, intimate, quiet relationship with Him right now, while I used to be out and open about it. He is working on healing me and I am allowing that to happen.

I know exactly where you are coming from, I too, was soo on fire for God and I fell for the lie of the enemy, that I was too radical for Jesus, so I backed away from worshipping Him like I wanted to. Big mistake. But He is faithful to bring us back and carry us further, if we only ask Him too. After we ask, then just worship Him for who He is! and don't pay any attention to what others sayand forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing

I wish to share with you my experience now that I am back to church: I am surrounded by people who raised their arms and sway to the loud music because they believe that dancing is form of worship to the Lord! Do you know how I felt? I seem to be a stick placed at the middle of a congregation! I was raised in a family that taught me that to dance is a sin! Do you know what my reaction would be if I am with you? I really don't know what's happening to the Christian Churches these days!

You are simply just a wounded soilder who needs time to heal, regroup, prepare for battle by reading the Word and praying. We've all been there. Your flame just went down a little. Ask Him to turn the wick up and get back in the fight.
---Cathy_Y on 10/13/05

Andre, I hear what you are saying. You haven't lost your love for the Lord, you just allowed public opinion to rule your worship habits. That's so easy to fix because Jesus is always with you and waiting to help you. Just PRAY to HIM about how you feel. He is your friend, talk to Him as a friend! Open your heart & let Him lead. Always remember that it's God we're serving, not anyone else. If someone doesn't understand how you worship, smile, love them, and pray for them.

Sorry Stan. First time. Limited space. Bad habit. About the coal example. Very good analogy. One more thing though if the coal is off in the embers you will find a small fire still burning. No matter the situation there is still a small flame. Fan the small flame and make it a big fire. We do that by connecting closer to God. Very good anology.

Living and practicing faith is simular to a burning coal. When everything is right,ie fuel, oxygen, temperature, the coal will flame. Remove any of these and the flame glickers and the coal is less and less hot. As Christians, our fire is from within(intrinsic) and without(extrinsic) meaning that many things must be present. Success changes our priorities. Our church, or group, or an incident may change our fervor. Faith wavers and our priorities vary . Pray the fire of your faith returns.
