Some verses that may answer this question are as follows. Matthew 25:14-46, Luke 12:41-48 (Deuteronomy 25:2-3) concerns rewarding a faithful, and punishing an unfaithful, servant. Romans 2:12-16: no one will have an excuse to reject the Lord's salvation because they have not specifically heard the gospel, or know of the 613 laws in the Old Testament, since they violate their own conscience, John 3:36, 14:6, Romans 1:18-20.

John 15:21-22: "But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin."
These blow away the theory, "they were all headed for hell", even the 'original sin' and 'sin nature bits', for it is shown that ignorance is a cover for sin, 1 Timothy 1:13: "Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.", yet that mercy requires a change of heart if it is to be effective, after that man is taught and shown.

Man is Measured by his Faith, Not his Knowledge...
Knowledge Shall increase, But that will not save man.

When we do not learn, we have woes. Hosea 4:6.

I'm not sure where it would be that we would be judged by our knowledge. I know that knowledge is a gift from God, 1 cor 12:8. So I guess if one would have this gift of knowledge then if they would happen to say something that would be wrong, then they would be judged accordingly.

God Judges us according to His law, the Ten Commandments (James 2:10-12). Sin is the transgression of His law (1 John 3:4). To him that knoweth to good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin (James 4:17).

M.P.: Specifically, if we break any of God's commandments, it is a sin. BUT, if we are totally ignorant of the commandment, the sin is not accounted to us. Acts 17:30 "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"

Jerry you quote this verse.' Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.' I'm not certain if this is the one I was thinking of but it DOES seem to be saying that those who DO NOT KNOW what is good are perhaps not sinning when they don't do it. What do others think or have any of you more appropriate verses for what I am seeking? Thanks for this one anyway Jerry.
