No I dont think it is a sin to dream something you have no control over. Unless you cling to those dreams and enjoy them and dwell on them...I guess that could be a sin. Like Martin Luther said "you cant stop the birds from flying over your head, but you can stop them building nests in your hair." :-) Pray, and dont eat a big plate of spagetti before bed. |

I'm aware in my dream 85% of the time. "how can I say this without sounding crazy" I can change my dreams 85% times since I was little. Sometimes though I'm too tired to do this so I'd let a bit of it play out before stoping it or making myself get up. No there is nothing I've done wrong I don't watch anthing except CSI. It doesnt't happen much maybe 1 or 2 times a month if that. I think satan is trying to get at me this way, somehow.. |

If the dreams are connected to something sinful that you have done they could be a warning to not repeat it or to put it right. If the dreams seem to be putting ideas in your head to do something you shouldn't pray about this and ask God's strength to overcome whatever it is and to not be tempted. |

I believe that many dreams have messages as well. God spoke to many via dreams. |

Dreams? I had a dream that ppl I knew who were now passed all looked like Devils! rthey surrounded me,begging me to join them! In the dream,I started reciting Isaiah 41:10,to them, then woke up! I immediately felt I had won a Great Battle! I felt strong, confident, and my faith was re-inforced!Was I questioning my faith sub-consciously?? Maybe! Dreams can show us alot sometimes! |

Judith::Your answer indicates at 85% you dont have sinful dreams. If so, there is no problem I go to sleep & dream every night & get up feeling refreshed, even after 4-6 hrs sleep.Dreams come from an active imaginative mind have fun with your dream as the song says Dream ,dream dream!!!Most often my dreams just melt into the distance & I do not always remember. |

I don't believe for a minute that we are accountable for our dreams. If you are dreaming things that make you uncomfortable or feel are not in keeping with your character, by all means pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you not dream such things. But accountable for your dreams? No. People put alltogether too much meaning on dreams. Not everything is of a spiritual nature. The human mind is far more complex than we could ever understand. |

Emcee, 85% of the time I am cognizant/aware. If something happens I don't like or want I can am immediatly aware sometimes I'm just too tired to change it but after a bit I do and I ask for forgiveness to God in my dream. I don't have sinful dreams much, hardly. It was a question that concerned me. |

Part 2
If you are able to control your actions in dreams, and are not able to, it is because you are being shown something. This may or may not be from Christ. You will only be held responsible if you do not learn from them or use Scripture to discern if what is being told you is correct or not. |

Part 1
When you have a dream that you control your own actions, yes, you are responsible for all that occurs in them. There is a group of people that are able to manipulate events outside of dreams from within the dream state to hurt others, they are able to affect the dreams of others as well. Some watch others to protect them. |

Judith:In order to commit sin you must be cognizant of your action.there are 3 conditions required to commit sin grevious matter perfect knowledge & full consent.Dreams occour when you are asleep.& even if you are day dreaming you are not fully awareso what will you be accountable for something you did not consiously do |

I know what your talking about Judit- it's called lucid dreaming and it is when we are aware we are dreaming and able to somewhat control what is going on , every once in awhile I can do that too. I think if we are aware of the fact that we are dreaming something sinful and allow ourselves to dream it then yes we would be accountable , if we are not aware then no |

If we are accountable for what we dream.....We're all in trouble! |
