Jews Still God's Chosen People

Are the Jews still God's chosen people? Or did that end when, due to their repeated disobedience, God sent them wandering in the wilderness for 40 years and then chose the gentiles?

I sure think so, how else do you explain the fact that isreal as a new country could defeat 6 middle eastern nations in a 6 day war(i hope i'm getting my facts straight)

It was after the 40 years in the wilderness that God let the Israelites enter the promised land. They were not the same generation of people who started the journey but were still Jews. The Jews are still God's chosen people. It was into the Jewish race that Jesus was born. Jews are going to feature in a big, big way as we approach the end-times. Many will accept Christ as their Saviour. God has not forgotten them.

In the kingdom of God the lamb will lay with the lion.... I dont see that happening. Why? We are not yet in the kingdom of God. Now, when we see the kingdom of God, after the second coming, we will find Christ's throne in Jeruselem a great city with 12 gates named for the 12 tribes of Israel.
---tofurabby on 9/14/06

greetings,in the kingdom of God there is neither jew nor gentile.to add, remember the jews rejected jesus after he refused them to be made king.no one sits on davids throne, but the torch bearers are the people who recognized that jesus is the son of God and has revealed his Father to mankind and are compelled by the spirit of truth to make it their duty to encourage others to enter the kingdom of God

Eloy: *The Jews were never God's chosen.*
Isaiah 45:4
For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
---kathr4453 on 9/14/06

Read Isaiah 14.an absolute must read. Still yet to be fulfilled!!!!
Eloy, there is the New Covenant and also the Everlasting Covenant.
The promises Jacob made to his own before he died, says "in the last days", has yet to be fulfilled.

jana: Yes,Romans 11:
25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
---kathr4453 on 9/13/06

Why do the Jews reject Christ?
"Let their [Israel] eyes be darkened" Rom. 11:10; "blindness in part is happened to Israel" Rom. 11:25
God has blinded them.
But why? "through their [Israel] fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles," why? "to provoke them [Israel] to jealousy." Rom 11:11
How long? "until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." Rom. 11:25
Then what? "all Israel shall be saved: as it is written" Rom. 11:26

Hebrews 9:12
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hebrews 9:24
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, but into heaven itself, to appear in the presence of God for us:

Hebrews 6:19
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, which enter into that within the veil;

Hebrews 10:19
Having, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

We Enter In by Faith

John 3:5 Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 10:9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
Hebrews 3:11So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
Hebrews 3:18And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

Joe:Romans 11.God isn't finished with Israel.

Not all Israel is Israel, but in Isaac.

Israel entered the promise land, older generation didn't. The Jordan represents the cross. Just as today with Gentiles, there are many who never crossed over, because they're afraid of a life crucified with Christ. They want to keep their life and the things of the world.
They're afraid of giants in the land, not believing that the powers of darkness have been conquered,"In Christ". Read Heb 3&4.

how can the Jews be God's people when they dont even acknowlege Jesus as the Mesiah and Savior? They were planning to catch Jesus off guard and accuse Him when Jesus was with them. unless someone has a text to say they are today.
---jana on 9/13/06

God did not choose the Gentiles until the Jews refused to receive Jesus as their Messiah when He was on earth. The Jews are still God's chosen people, and the Gentiles are grafted in.
---Helen_5378 on 9/11/06

Paul said Jews of his days are not covenant children but of bondage John1:10,11. They refused to believe in Christ and most still doJohn1:10,11 Christ were with them and they knew Him not. The Israelites of today are not true Israelites. Just look at them today, fighting, killing etc. thats not of God. They are of the Ishmaelite clan..same as Jews . Covenant children John1:12,13 Gal3:26-29 the true Israelites.
---jana on 9/11/06

The Jews were never God's chosen. God made one man and one woman to procreate and fill the entire earth. The chosen are and always were the obedient to God regardless of race, for God is not prejudice nor NO Respecter of persons. The Jews in Jesus day also were deluded into thinking that they were somehow special in God's eyes, but John the baptist corrected them; and Jesus Christ continually corrected them and said to them, "You all seek to kill me, for you all are of your father the devil."

Yes the Jewish people are still God's chosen ones. The Jews are God's children by birth, and those of us who are born-again are God's children by adoption!
---Helen_5378 on 5/14/06

The Jews are still God's chosen people. He intended for them to be the head and not the tail. They are the tail now, but not much longer. They will be restored to their rightful place under their Messiah Jesus Christ.Daniel 7:25-27. The Saints of the most high are His people, the Jews. Remember, Daniel is seeing all this from a Jewish stand point and how it will effect his people. The Jews are and will be earth dwellers. The Church are heavenly people and will dwell in heaven.
---Debbie on 5/14/06

Since the New Covenant the chosen are any one, regardless of race, who accept Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Salvation.
---Eloy on 5/14/06

The Jews = Southern Kingdom of Judah Israel = Norhtern tribes.Israel goes into captivity by Assyrians, become "lost" tribes (Gentiles). Not really "lost", have new names. "Not my people" and become "my people", Hosea 1.

The Jews go into captivity by Babylon.
Modern Country of Israel = Judah.
God divorced Israel, kept Judah, Jeremiah 3:8

The Birthright promises not to Judah, to Joseph-Ephraim and Manasseh- 1 Chronicles 5:1,2.

The true Jew is any and every soul who obeys the New Covenant, and not the Old. The Old Covenant-Keeping Jews were responsible for having the Savior killed, crying out, "Crucify him! Crucify him! and his blood be upon us!" (meaning, "kill him! kill him! and we will accept the guilt or responsibility for his death!"). Please read John 8:13,21-24,37-47,54-59.

There are thousands of Jewish people who are Messianic..they recognize Christ as Messiah and accept Him into their lives. At this point in time, these 144,000 Jewish men will become believers and go around preaching Christ to those who still don't believe, even after all that has happened.
---Ann5758 on 12/9/05

According to the word of God, the 144,000 will be the 12 tribes of Israel (Jews). Rev 7:4-8, 21:12.
---Rebecca_D on 12/9/05

From one blood came all races to cover the earth, and so God shows no partiality to anyone, save the obedient soul who's God is the Lord Jesus. "...God is no respecter of persons. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you all are one in Christ Jesus. And if you all Christ's, then are you all Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Acts 10:34; Galatians 3:28,29.

The 144,000 does not make up Jews. For one, the Jews wouldnt agree with this because they dont believe in the Christian Greek Scriptures. So they wouldnt agree with that #. Also, Jesus or (Lamb) is with them. They dont recognize Jesus as Gods Son and mankinds savior.
---brent on 12/9/05

Yes the Jews are still God's chosen. Deu 7:6-7. In Revelation it talks about the 144,000 will be jews.

A very important question; I believe Mr. Bush is the president because God placed him there. However Mr. Bush's demanding that Israel give up land for a Palestinian state is not of God but of human reasoning. The Jewish people are God chosen people and they always will be!!! Not to believe this is to engage in human folly.---mima 11/4/2005

Billy Graham has often said that as long as Amercia continues to help the Jewish people, God will continue to bless America.

Those who say that God has left the Jews are anti-semitic, and fly in the face of scripture.
Think on this: if you curse the Jews, deny them their inheritance, then you will be cursed and denied your inheritance by God.
---mike6553 on 10/31/05

No, they no longer are the Lord's chosen but individually salvation is available to as many as will accept Jesus as Saviour.

Part 2

for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number."

He has brought the sword for breaking the blood covenant He had with them and has offered it to everyone. The penalty for breaking with a blood table is death.

Part 1

"I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; a people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me;

Rom. 11 say it very clearly that when the fulness of the Gentiles comes then all Israel shall be saved.Yes, there were times when Israel fell away, and God forsook them for a time but never changed his covenant with them.God always sent a deliverer. It is us who will be the deliverers to provoke them to be saved.Read Rom. 11.
---john on 10/29/05

Does no one read the Bible, or do you just take what you hear? Paul says clearly that we who are not of the Covenan need to be made part of the covernant. How is this done?
In Europe, the European wine cannot survive, and needs to be grafted onto the American vines. Paul says we are grafted onto the Jews, because the promise to Abraham, is that the promise of the Messiah will run through his family. I am not Jewish, but through being grafted onto the Jeweish race, I have receieved my salvation.
---mike6553 on 10/29/05

The Jews left God, killed all their prophets which God sent; he sent his only son, but they had him killed also. Whoever rejects Christ, Christ will reject them in front of his Father. Now God offers his kindom to whoever will bear the good fruits thereof. Salvation is an individual choice, whether a Jew or Gentile, bond or free, male or female. God looks upon your heart, and not your race. When you accept Christ, you are made a Jew, form Christ is a Jew. Please read Matthew 21:33-46; Galatians 3:26-29.
---Eloy on 10/29/05

paul said we are grafted in to the vine. the vine being jews, the chosen of god. so not to think that we are higher than the jews as we can be pulled out of the vine also.

First question, "What is a Jew?"
Search Encyclopaedia Judaica. There is a lot of historical data there.
Second, Jews may (or may not) be Israelites, but the only Israelites that are Jews are those descended from Judah.
Third, Jeremiah 31:31-34, and Hebrews 8:8-12, the New Covenant is NOT with Judah, but with Israel. From Rehoboam and Jeroboam onwards, they were two distinct NATIONS, religions, royal families, and prophetic destinies.

If you read Ephesians 2:11... It will explain how we are the circumcised but not in the physical sence but the spiritual scence. If you read it i'm sure you'll understand more. I know I did.
