It was a cold winter's day that Sunday. The parking lot to the church was filling up quickly. As I got out of my car I noticed fellow church members were whispering among themselves as they walked in the church. As I got closer I saw a man leaned up against the wall outside the church. He was almost lying down as if he was asleep. He was wearing very ragged a long trench coat and a scruffy hat , pulled down so you could not see his face.

I've just realised that the story contained in the first 3 entries looks as if I'm telling something that I witnessed personally. I'm not, that story and the 2 part one that follows were sent to me in emails.

The nobleman pointed to some brackets in the walls then he gave each family a lamp, asking them to bring these with them each time they came to worship. "Each time you are in church, the area where you are seated will be lighted," the nobleman said. "Each time you are not here, that area will be dark. This is to remind you that whenever you fail to come to church, some part of God's house will be dark."

In a mountain village in Europe a long time ago, a nobleman wondered what gift he could present to his townspeople. At last he decided to build them a church. No one saw the complete plans for the church until it was finished. When the people gathered, they marvelled at its beauty. Then someone asked, "But where are the lamps? How will it be lighted?"

3. In came the homeless man walking down the aisle with his head down. People gasped and whispered and made faces. He made his way down the aisle and up onto the pulpit where he took off his hat and coat. My heart sank. There stood our preacher ...he was the "homeless man". No one said a word. The preacher took his Bible and laid it on his stand. "Folks, I don't think I have to tell you what I am preaching about today."

2. His shoes looked very old and were full of holes and his toes stuck out. I assumed this man was homeless as I walked past him and into church. Inside, someone mentioned the man outside. People gossiped about him but none of us checked that he was alright or asked him to come inside. A few moments later the service began. We waited for the Preacher to take his place and heard the church doors open.
