Men and women in ministry are just that.....men and women. They are human just like us. The only difference is they have had a calling on their life to minister but they are still tempted by same things all other peorsons are tempted with as well. They are not superhuman because they are in ministry, In fact the devil may even tempt some of them more to try to bring them down form their ministry.

No problem. It is a gift to not inwardly burn which not many people possess, i would guess few people have this gift. I certainly don't. I'm getting married in Oct :D and i feel it is what God has planned in my life

We all fall short of the glory of God. Noone is exempt from sin. One only need to look with lustful eyes, or admire a man/lady go by, a lady in red dress etc etc to sin. Servants of God are subject to all just as we all are. They are only human. I ask you friend who is asking this silly question. Do you suffer from lust, or exempt from???

All men are tempted--this is common to man (1 Corinthians 10:19), and He also was tempted in all points like as we are. This was not sin, for it continues, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). No Christian needs to continue in sin (1 Cor 15:34), and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. He is able to keep us from falling, so while all may suffer from temptation, none need suffer by continuing in sin.

You should not take the word as meaning marring out of burning with sexual desire/Lust thats not pure love Mate. After that sexual/Lust, Burn has been fulfilled what will you do with your wife that fulfilled your burning desire with, toss her aside because she fulfilled your burning needs? In all your getting GET WISDOM Your going to need IT!

they should be in control of such lusts. They should not 'suffer' from trying to control it. Paul said that he did not inwardly burn, he did not suffer from this lust that burns in many 'ministers' today.
I believe i know a few things about the bible which i could teach others but i am not fit to be a minister cause i inwardly burn hence the reason i am getting married later in the year.

The devil respects no one and roams around seeking who he can devour thats scripture. So whether you are saved or not the devil is always busy in your weakness as a Christian or your ignorance if unsaved to righteous living. A minister is covered by his Godly conduct, after that he becomes a target for the sins of this world like anyone else. No big deal we have all sinned and come short, thank God for forgiveness!

You know junia--You good too. Lust I suppose some suffer with it, not suppose to. But like you said Satan is always trying to cause trouble. He really hates God's prophets> yes. God's ministers> yes. More than all others.
---catherine on 4/11/07|
Men and woman in ministry are also human beings and I think they suffer from whatever there is to suffer from which satan can find to try and destroy them with. That is why we always have to pray for Ministers, so that they stay on the narrow road.
---Junia on 4/11/07|
I have heard this is true. This is why we should cover them with prayer and the protection of God's Word. The Holy spirit is good at His job.

Of course! Ministers are like any Christian, they are spiritual beings in human bodies. This means we are subject to all the temptations that come to anyone. Even Christ had His temptations - but He also showed us how to be victors over temptation. (He used scripture to repel Satan. Read Matthew 4:1-11)

Do those that lust commit adultery? Read MATTHEW 5- 27&28 ---mima 11/11/2005

yes all people, men and women all "suffer" from lust, they are human and there are forgiven, as we are..
---angie on 11/8/05|
Men and women of the ministry are only human. They suffer the same temptations we all do. Look at Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart.

Absolutely!! The closer we are to God, the more Satan will work on our weaknesses to break us down, bring us away from God and onto his side. We have to be aware of this, and be always on the watch for his trickery and deceptions.

I'm new here so will keep this simple...
"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
We all have the ability to fail...
and I feel that since we are Christians, Satan puts many more pressures on us then we sometimes know. Keep in a Christain group that keeps you accountable!
Everyday can be a tough walk for many of us!
