1) Emcee, although Ghandi seems like a great guy, unless he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, he is not saved. There is only one way of salvation, being nice does not get you to heaven, it's not by works. Did he confess with his mouth and believe in his heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and God raised Him from the dead? Was he born-again? If not, then he has denied Christ.
---Holly4jc on 4/28/08

2) Maybe he was ashamed of how those who claimed to be Christians acted, but we are not to look towards or follow people, only Jesus and if Ghandi rejected Jesus, then he is not saved, no matter how "nice" he was or what "nice and good" things he did. And if he heard and was aware of the Gospel and still did not confess Christ, then he is without excuse.

Emcee_So, An "Influential" (Gandhi) person can be Good and "Does'nt" have to Except Jesus as Their Lord & Savior, Be Baptised showing a Good Conscience towards God & his Son, AND then Help in the spreading of HIS Words, AND make it into the Kingdom of Heaven?
By saying such things, You TAKE away The PURPOSE of the Cross(His Death).
His(Jesus) Death was NOT in Vain!

You CAN'T make it into Gods Kingdom W/O a BLOOD Bought Ticket Brother

D D Martin::Ghandi was a man of non violence He was fully aware of The teachings of Christianity and was ashamed of those who called themselves christians & did not emulate the teachings of Jesus which He did .He showed acquience by actions Not empty words and No denial.I know I happened to be there. He was a humble and simple man.
---Emcee on 4/28/08

Nicole_Did you know if you Die W/O Jesus Their is NO Salvation, Not even for "Good" people Like Ghandi who deny Jesus, For whatever reason they may choose NOT to Convert!
Do you need Scripture?
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 4/27/08

I agree with Holly4jc. Amen,to Mark v's blog. Only the Holy Spirit saves.
Sometimes people find Jesus with their involvement and didn't even realize it. Isn't this AWESOME. The Holy Spirit is always sending His graces tous to find Jesus.
Living a godly life is powerful.
Did you know that Ghandi(sp?)(the man who spoke of peace and helped India's indepenance.)Said the reason he didn't convert to Christian was because he didn't see anyone following the instructions by the Man Jesus in the Bible.

1) Amen Mark V...God is the one who sets up the "divine appointments" and it's our job to always be on the lookout for those appointments that God has brought into our lives and then do our part to share the Gospel. I know when God brings someone into my life, the way it works is that He usually brings someone around that I develop some kind of relationship with first, like say at work or an unsaved person in a Christian chat room.
---Holly4jc on 4/27/08

2) Once that relationship is established and that person has seen my walk with God in action and I have shared that I am a born-again Christian, we start having more conversations about God and if God is already working in their heart, they receive Him gladly. :-)

The Holy Spirit can only work through his body, which is the church on earth. That is the group of true believers who follow the Bible. There are many who are crying out to be saved and who know that their lives are all wrong, upside down, full of sin. They just need someone to say 'Can I share with you about Jesus Christ?' They may well answer, 'I have been praying for someone like you to come along.' Just like I pray for someone to come along and accept a pamphlet in the street.

When God is ready to bring one of His elect to saving faith in Christ He will be on time. It is all the work of the Holy Spirit. No one is to take credit for any of the work the Holy Spirit is doing even through us. There is no tricks in bringing anyone to Christ. God prepares the hearts and we respond to His work. Any methods developed by man do not work. Many like to pride themselves in saying they have done this or that, when it is all the work of the Spirit in you and in the person.

There are some good youtubes showing how to evangelize to Satanists, atheists etc. One is called 'The Way of the Master' and is three parts.
---frances008 on 4/26/08

Not that I know of. But it's never too late and I am constantly planting seeds.

This SPEAKS for itself?
James 5:
19 BRETHREN, if ANY of you do ERR from the TRUTH, and one CONVERT him,

20 LET HIM KNOW, that HE which CONVERTETH the SINNER from the ERROR of his way SHALL SAVE A SOUL FROM DEATH, and SHALL HIDE a multitude of SINS.

So,DO the work that God has given you the ability to DO and Gather them for the marriage Supper of the Lamb.
This is acceptable & sound Doctrine.
Except it if your "Abel"(attempt of some humor)

i dont think we (anyone) can bring about someones salvation. we can plant the seed so that they cannot use ignorance as an excuse but i believe God makes the ultimate decision :) our pastor once said, we can do 2 percent but God does the 98 percent :)

My family and I lead one of our daughters friend to the lord about three months ago. That is the best feeling you can have when you have someone come to the lord. we have been working on her for years and the day finally came. Amen.
---debbie23453 on 6/6/07

I have never been responsible for leading someone to the Lord but I believe that I have played a part in sowing the seeds that have EVENTUALLY led to someone accepting Christ as their Saviour. Several that I spoke to in the early days of their 'enquiries' actually accepted Jesus privately in their own bedrooms - no other human being playing a part at that stage at all. That is exactly what happened to me many years ago also.

Our aim, and my desire,is to lead EVERYONE we meet to Jesus, that should be our priority..we may never know the results of our witness,we may only plant ..it is God who gives the increase:I tell, Holy spirit convicts..I introduce my best friend Jesus to everyone..I have witnessed acceptance , but it is God's power, not mine..I will always continue to lead others to Him....

"Some plant, some water and some reap the harvest"..depends upon the response of the person to the compelling force of the Lord Jesus. Our business is to keep ourselves confessed up, prayed up and loving people in Jesus name. When folks wonder why you are the loving person you are, they will start asking questions about your faith; then they will "hear with ears that hear and eyes that see" Once in awhile the Holy Spirit will say...."Go". We must be obedient to His command!
---Elsie on 12/5/05

I have planted many seeds, but it was them that led themselves to Jesus. I witness to people all the time, but if a sinner comes to our church we don't drag them to the alter or beg them to come. We give an open invitation and let God be God.

yes, many people.

I don't know if I've ever led anyone to Jesus, but I try every day to show what God has done for me and how happy He has made me. Hopefully, it shows to everyone what He has done for me and they will want the same for themselves.
---Ron on 11/8/05

so right we can only plant the seed and Jesus does the rest. I don't take any credit for what jesus does that is for sure. It is just so nice to plant that seed and watch the work jesus does for that person to totally give their heart to Him.
