Good to see you Ralph. We can't argue in here! Madison is a teacher you know, and she may have to crack a ruler across some knuckles if we act up too much!
Glad you're here, relax, and rejoice with us.

That's sort of a handy trick with your socks Cliff! I know what you need for Christmas!
Coffee coming up, and I have Carrot or Black Forest cake, your choice!
---NVBarbara on 11/21/08

How is everybody this evening? This is very refreshing. At least there are no wise guys on this blog. I get tired of trouble makers trying to hurt others just to get their prideful point across. I love all of you guys and I believe most or maybe all of us know Jesus.
---Ralph on 10/13/07

Eloy, If your heart longs to preach and teach, perhaps the Lord has you unemployed so that He can instruct you. If so, it is not likely you will get employment until the Lord is finished.

Perhaps you may want to spend time with Him and inquire if employment at this time is His Will for you.
---paladin on 12/20/05

I'm so happy that your son made it home safely Madison!
And a BIG congrats on the weight loss!! You go girl, I know your ambition and you will do what you set out to do!
Walk in peace sis, Barbara
---NVBarbara on 12/20/05

lee, a good job. Most jobs i've taken for survival. Other than necessity, my first choice is to preach and teach; and my second choice, clerical.
---Eloy on 12/20/05

You can go to college, for 7 years, stackup 60,000 in college dept, and from the onset earn 35,000 a year. The supply truck driver who comes here makes more than that, he is 21, whith no education, I am 29......

Double Praises: 1. My son arrived home safe at 10 pm eastern time. He drove 13 hours with one break.

2. Since starting treatment on November 7, I have lost 13 pounds.

God is good, all the time.

Woo Hoo, Oh John...about time for a new Wazzup blog!
---NVBarbara on 12/19/05

Eloy, what kind of work are you looking for?
---lee on 12/19/05

Madison: I'll keep your Son's in my prayers. Its funny because I have 3 sons, and th oldest is Chris, and the second is Sean ~~ I

this coming week, and always!! Eloy, your jobs coming, praise GOD!
---Mary-D on 12/19/05

Eloy: I am praying for you. Keep putting in the applications.

Everyone, please pray for my older son, Chris. He is driving from Tennessee to Philadelphia on Monday. He will be travelling alone and I don't want any harm to come to my child. Thanks.

Hey everyone. How has your weekend been? I am trying to be an elf and get my presents wrapped. I had to put my tree back together, as my kitten knocked it completely over and branches came off. What a mess!!!!

My son, Sean, is in town and I am having him over for dinner this evening. I am very excited about this. I haven't seen him in months. Yippee!!
---Madison on 12/18/05

Eloy and Barb, thanks for the encouragement. I am not beating myself, just discouraged is all. I have had a rough week at work, and it makes not bingeing really, really hard. Plus, my therapist is giving me difficult homework to do so that I can work through my feelings about my divorce. Because I come home tired every night from treatment, which is after work three days a week, I am too tired to really do much of anything else.

ditto ditto. Yes Madison, i pray that you will do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Know that you are more than a conqueror in him. A favorite song i like comes to me, for you: "One day at a time, sweet Jesus, that's all i'm asking of you; just give me the strength to do everyday what i have to do." ~love to you, Eloy
---Eloy on 12/16/05

A relapse in anything is normal Madison, just start over and don't look back or beat yourself up! You have overcome tough things in your life, and I have the faith to know with God's help you can overcome this! One day at a time dear one. You're in my prayers daily, as are all of you.
God bless you dear Eloy.
---NVBarbara on 12/15/05

I'm so thankful God didn't allow me to go to my family's this week. Steve has needed my support MUCH more than I had realized. AND in my home town an ice storm has passed through and approx. 200,000 are without power in that and surrounding counties! My sister Mary Ann has come down with pneumonia, please keep her in your prayers. She's a very brittle diabetic and her immune system is weak. God bless all of you!
---NVBarbara on 12/15/05

Thank you all sisters and brothers. i'm praying for you all. And i pray that God's grace will see me through it all. i ask my Lord to forgive me for questioning why so much misery and evil comes into my life, and why God seems so apathetic and far from my cries for help. i'm sorry God, i really am Papa, forgive me. i just don't know how else to ask you. Please forgive me Lord, please just help me. And help these my sisters and brothers with each of their personal issues. i pray always in Jesus name. Amen.

Hello everyone. Eloy, I will continue to lift you in prayer, Steve too as well. We are having parent conferences this week, so I get to see whose parents are concerned about their educations.

Treatment continues to be rough for me. Please continue to pray. I have had several relapses with bingeing this past week. :(

---Madison on 12/14/05

Greetings all! Eloy, I am praying for your job situation Brother!! Bless you! (also, all the other prayer needs as well). AND please hold me in prayer too! I am to be moving to Phx Az soon. I DO NOT want to run out ahead of God's timing. Love and Blessing,
---Mary_D on 12/14/05

Please pray gang, Eloy did not get the job he had applied for. To add insult to injury, the place where he works is laying everyone off. He is a dear brother who loves the Lord with all that is in him. Please take time to pray especially for him.

Barbara, We can pray for each other also. We hear that my wife's job may be in jeopardy. There was talk of consolidation. The board of directors are having a meeting next month. We are not worrying though, because we know that our Father is faithful! We will lift Steve up to Him.
There is talk of icing on the roads here tonight. Maybe we'll get out of the south someday, also.
---John on 12/14/05

Thank you Eloy my friend. You're right, I think God allowed this because in reality this is a rough week for Steve and he needs me to be here. My 'candle' has been burning at both ends, and was flaring up in the middle a little!
Please pray for Steve regarding his job. They are coming under new ownership and he fears that his position will be phased out. I love all of you dear ones.
---NVBarbara on 12/14/05

Excuse me Nellah, I have to make a run to the loo! Thanks for sharing!
---NVBarbara on 12/14/05

Barb, sometimes when we burn the candle at both ends, God will lay us out on our back in order to slow us down. So please go slower, and soak up more of his grace, and i pray that you will know his overwhelming love and his regenerative power from the Spirit of his most holy Presence in wave after wave after wave, and flood upon flood over your whole being. in the name of Jesus i pray. Amen.

This is great. I went for coffee with a friend tonite, and we were sitting talking ,when the conversation turned to what we were doing at church, and discussing scriptures. After a while, a young couple got up to leave, but came over to our table. The lady said "Christians?" I said "Christians." She held out her hand and said "Christian." Her husband then said "We want to pray for you both right now." So there in the coffeeshop, he prayed for us. I was teary when he finished.

So I remain at home and will make my trip later. Yuk, I feel dreadful!
---NVBarbara on 12/13/05

Barb: I hope you are able to get things together for your trip. Hang in there.

Everyone, please pray for me between 8:45 and 10:15 am EST each day. I have the 8th grade from H*** then. They are so brutal. Thanks.

Somebody come over and help me get ready for my trip please!! I'll leave on a redeye tomorrow night, actually at 12:15 AM Tues. Trying to get Steve's things in order so he won't get too confused while I'm gone! BTW, did I mention he got Salmanella poisoning on Thurs.? I treated him with activated charcoal and he felt better after a day of sleep, but he's still tired out. Pls keep him in your prayers.
HELP, I'm not even packed yet!

John, Eloy, what type jobs are y'all looking for? When I was homeless, living in a ministry, I applied for a job at a print shop. For the next two weeks I walked all over the place applying for other jobs, everyday calling the print shop. After two weeks of walking, blisters on my poor feet, I called the print shop and went to work that day. I'm still there after six years. My calling everyday is what got me that job! I pray you get the jobs you want.

Madison, I'm about two hours from the coast that's why Jackson got a category 1 storm. Bless your sis-inlaw for her help. No power at work so I took coloring books/crayons to the Miss. Coliseum and spent some time with the people there. Awesome, no whining, just thankful to be alive. I still can't comprehend what Katrina has done to us, I need to see it firsthand. Too bad the casinos didn't sink!
---Nellah on 12/11/05

Exactly right Len! I've never gambled, but I've seen that glazed over look on faces when going to a casino for a show or to a restaurant.

Madison, did your Mom leave for her trip today? Did she take the phone numbers with her? I'm praying for her safety.

Hi everybody. My PC crashed a while back, so i'm slowly recouping my files. Hi Len, Madison, and Nellah, and all. It's cold here in Pennsylvania, huh Madison? i was gonna go out to the store, but i took one look out the window at the snow on the ground and said, "nah, maybe tomorrow." i'm a little beat from hard work and job hunting. i did get to talk to sister Barb today, she is special and very warm-hearted. God bless you Barb. Well joy and pleasure to God, i'm one day closer to the end.

My daughter was born at Loma Linda, fine hospital. I know Vegas well, did some undergrad work in Red Rock Canyon. I dont know why people go to Vegas to lose money. I have a device in my bathroom that does the same thing as the slots. You put in the money, pull the handle, and flush! Your money is gone!
---Len_K on 12/10/05

I remember those snowy night's back in NY. Especially those really deep snows when I would open up a window on the second floor and looked out over the snow covered lawns and the snow would be coming down and it was so silent and peaceful. A beautiful show of God's nature and no school the next day!
---John on 12/10/05

OK Mr. Moderator, what happened to my blog I wrote? I'll start over! Welcome Len, make yourself at home! I'm in Las Vegas, so I live in the Mojave as well. I love the San Bernardino area, we rented a small apt.there when my husband was going for Proton treatment for Prostate cancer at Loma Linda Hosp. He's in great shape now!

Nellah: My sis-in-law was in Pascagoula, MS over Thanksgiving week. She was helping rebuild homes hit by Katrina. She stayed at the First Baptist Church there. She wants to go back and help some more. Are you near there?
---Madison on 12/10/05

Down South? Snow? Don't I wish ... so far all we'll had is cold rain. It would be nice to see some snow falling down. We hardly ever get snow in Jackson, Miss. I want some snow!

Been out of college for four years. Got a wife, and one and-a-half kids.(and a cat) A dull life? The little things animate life; wifes blueberry pancakes, my 3 year olds antics, breathtaking stary nights in the Mojave, and a 'few' good friends, mostly from Church. i come to blogs to discuss theology, and maybe, if lucky, offend a few. My job is to find underground aquifers. In the mojave there are deep underground aquifers spread around the basins, left during the last ice age, 12,000 years ago. They will be taped for commercial use as it becomes marketable, and no matter the expense, they will will be. Fun job. I can look at a landform and pinpoint where water can be found, others get their elbows dirty.

Is this the non-serious blog? I live in Yucaipa Ca. Off the I-10. I work for the County of San Bernadino. 5 Years of college, and about 10% of what i learned i use at work, others say that is common. A 'piece of paper' got me the job. Communities are growing all over the desert, where is the water going to come from? 5 dams on the Colorado, still, not enough water in 20 years, developers gone mad!
---len_k on 12/10/05

What a coincedence, I live in NC now but where I come from in NY is where George Washington had his headquarters for awhile during the Revolutionary War. The banks of the Hudson River have a lot of history and snow in the winter. In fact the town where my wife grew up was in Haverstraw, NY where George smoked, guess what, with the Haverstraw Indians. I'll give you a guess what they smoked in those peace pipes. It's illegal today.

I DON'T miss snow, or the ice, which is more common in the South! We did see a beautiful powdery snow when we were in Salt Lake City over Thanksgiving. I hope it stays clear in the South. I'm flying out late Monday night/Tues AM to SC and will be there until the 19th.

Thanks Dory, I've been using Saline spray and taking so many Vit.C I rattle when I walk! But I'm feeling MUCH better, I hope you are too Madison. I saw my doc yesterday and he said it was about cleared up.
