Mima, the question is assurance. Do we have an assurance that we are saved? Yes we do. We live by faith. Faith not only on the sacrafice of Christ and resurrection, but faith that all of God's promises will come true. Faith that God will never abandon us. Faith in the hope which is in Christ alone. Many don't have that faith. Many doubt they will be saved, doubt in their hope (Christ). They are just not sure. They look at their live's through their works and not through Christ.

Yes. Since I was 10 years old. I remember where I was, and the sincere intention in my heart.

Yes, I am certain. When bodies die they usually go into the ground, and they go back to dust from whence they came. The spirit of man, goes into an everlasting state, because spirits are immortal and cannot die. Christians go to be with the Lord, non Christians go to a place of suffering and torment called Hell. They wait for final judgment. Those dead in Christ wait for their final rewards. The Bible does not teach soul sleep. [Ex.Laz. and the rich man].

I agree, this is the most important question there is! And I can answer it yes according to Rom. 10:9-13!
---maryj9396 on 6/29/07

I dont know, I do know, however; I don't deserve to go to heaven...but I believe that Jesus died for me and that God will forgive me. So, hopefully, by the grace of God I will be there too.

According to the Holy scriptures, no man has ascended into heaven except He who came down; and I think Christ is returning to earth. If I'm meek, I shall inherit, the earth and those who overcome and endure until the end will reign with Christ for 1000 years (on earth).
The heaven where God's throne is, awaits for another time AFTER the new heaven and new earth are created.

#2. Matthew: The lost have no personal relationship with Christ. They are separated from God and dead to the things of God. They cannot understand and are unable to understand. He has to be born again to know about Spiritual things. So when Christ speaks to him, he will understand since he is alive to Christ.
---mark on 6/29/07

So Matthew, now that you put down more verses, which is it. Did God speak to you while you were lost? Or were you just putting us on? Which is it Matthew? Now you speak that God doesn't speak to sinners, while you told everyone He spoke to you while you were lost. I think you have to make up your mind and stop making comments that are not true. Like I said before, you will have to stop doing that for that is the will of God.

You gave more passages as before with no context to them/ again you take passages out of context refusing to correct your statements because of pride Matthew. You have to one day face the facts. You cannot escape from God. You are twisting the word of God to your meaning. His intended meaning is gone when you get done with it and you are responsible. This is not a game Matthew.

Ecclesiastes 2:26

26For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God.

John 9:31
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
---Matthew on 6/25/07

1 John 3:6
No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning..

Hebrews 10:26
26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
---Matthew on 6/25/07

Romans 5:19
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
---Matthew on 6/25/07

Mark is correct. God has absolutely nothing to do with sinners. And the Saints, if you are in sin, God won't have anything to do with you until you are forgiven.
---catherine on 6/25/07

Matthew, looks like your saying God doesn't talk to sinners and you gave your testimony that God spoke to you when you were lost. Now you answer to my response to Eloy, to correct me. You say one thing, and then argue on this with the other. Now if you are not a forgiven sinner then you are an unforgiven sinner. God does not talk to unforgiven sinners. He changes them first and then forgives them. "Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins." Eccl. 7:20.

1 Peter 4:18
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

John 9:31
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Hebrews 7:26
For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

Wrong again Eloy. Every Christian who dies, dies a sinner. He is a forgiven sinner but nevertheless he will always fall short of the glory of God until his heart stops pumping. The very reason why his saved is the reason he needs Christ righteousness. If anyone could make himself righteous you would not need Christ to begin with. In this life we live in the flesh and need Christ to take our sins, and He did take them on the cross for those who believe. The Christian is a forgiven sinner.

Well, the ones of us who does make it to heaven, It will be by the skin of our teeth. When we finally see our Savior we will thank Him for all of His help in getting us to heaven to live with Him forever. Thank God we have escaped HELL.++
---catherine on 6/18/07

Trust Jesus as Lord & Savior: you'll know you're saved without having to see Him. Read what Jesus said in Matthew 16:4.
Place your faith in Him and believe He died on the cross for your sins, was buried and rose again. Needing proof via Jesus Himself telling you is the exact opposite of faith.
I John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
---Melissa on 6/18/07

Many believe they will return to God's kingdom but that is all it is, a belief. The only sure way you know you made it, is if Jesus Christ himself appears to you and says "Well done, thy good and faithful servant, your calling of election has been made sure." Then you can breathe a sigh of relief because it means people see the Savior in everything you say and do. your actions and example to others speak volumes. you avoid evil and refuse to be tempted by satan in any way.

"Not every one that SAYS to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOES the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21. Simply, if one dies in Christ they go to heaven, but if one dies with sin they go to hell.
---Eloy on 2/14/06

even understanding only John 3:16 we can have an assurance that we are going to heaven.Unless you give your faith in Christ surely you cannot enter in heaven.
---bridget on 2/14/06

The earth that we are living in now will be destroyed with fire. 2 peter 3:7 and 10-12. Rev 21:1 tells us that the first heaven and the first earth shall pass away, meaning destroyed. Isa 24:19,20, 51:6. These scriptures tells me that God is going to destroy this earth by fire. So what you Rebecca makes no sense at all.

Yes but my wife and I are planning to go before we die.
---Elder on 1/12/06

Rebecca D, Revelation 21:1 states that the new heaven & new earth are created because the old ones are passed away, then in vs 2, the new Jerusalem descends. The New Jerusalem is on the new earth, it is not the new earth itself.
---Ann5758 on 1/12/06

Rebbeca D;
This Earth will remain, the only thing that will be destroyed is the wickness, & God will replinish it like it originalyl was, the new Earth. Not All will be in heaven. For he made some to be priests& rulers to rule here on EARTH. Tomorrowsworld.org has a topic on this about where we would go according to scriptures.
---canda3996 on 1/12/06

So Rebecca; if ALL christians aren't going to live in heaven, then where will some be? This earth now will pass away, be destroyed by fire. The new earth will be the new Jerusalem, and you wouldn't want a manison? I don't think I quite understand what you are trying to say. Explain a little more please.

I do not believe that all Christians are going to live in heaven. There are too many instances quoted regarding the plan for the new earth. I, personally, do not want to live in a mansion. I love the earth that God provided for us...not the world and society..butterflies and beans and good black earth, animals and birds. I am a devout Christian and know that I will have access to God just as did Adam and Eve but, it in my own heart to live on the renewed earth.

Praise God! I'll at least see four people from this site in heaven :)

Is our life totally sacrificed for the Lord, and are we living in the Lord and the Lord in us because we are in his love, and are we sharing our faith every moment of every day? If yes, than we are fulfilling his will for us. But if no, than we are missing out.
---Eloy on 12/30/05

Yes. I grew up in church and just knew about Jesus, but even the demons know about Jesus! Finally I went to a church that preached salvation and confessed Jesus as my savior and asked him to forgive my sins.
