Quoting Gordon : " GOD (YAH) tests us, His Saints, to help us to mature in Love, Holiness and Obedience, and to show US where our heart really is at every given moment.
---Gordon on 5/1/08 "

I agree.

The whole world as it is set up is a constant test I think. But God is merciful. Romans 11:32.

It is not the trial of "you". It is the trial of your faith.

"Why?" As a trial and opportunity. It is a trial of our faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus and an opportunity to declare that faith through the word of our testimony concerning it. Knowing that the trying of our faith works patience within us. That patience works hope and that hope will not shame us. The wilderness experience is always a trial intended to produce and/or reinforce an intended spiritual growth. It is a time of reflection and meditation, a time to feed on the bread of life.

Since we are to test the spirits and what is written in the new testament, then wouldn't it be fitting for God to test us too, to see if we really love Him or not?

Sandra_Heb. 12:
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise NOT thou the chastening of the Lord, NOR faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6 For WHOM the Lord LOVETH HE chasteneth, and scourgeth EVERY son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye ENDURE chastening, God dealeth with you as with SONS, for what son is he whom the father chasteneth NOT?

ENDURE, IS my BEST advice.

I have been going through a lot of trials. It seems that in just 15 months I have lost so much and debts everywhere. Then after 15 months of tantrums and storming at God, I am realizing why I am going through this and even though it is not fun, I find I want my soul more than I want things.

Remember God does not give us more then we can handle with our burdons, also look at James 1:13 it says "When under trial,let no one say:'I am being tried by God.' For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone." then finish it by verses 14-15.

God tests his children for several of reason. In De 13:3, it says "The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul". And to love love God is to obey Him Jn 14:15. In some cases, testing comes through suffering, hardship, difficult circumstance, and trouble but the Good News is that, James 1:1-4 says, for us to consider it all Joy whenever we face trials of many kind because through perseverance, it's developing character.

God tests us to teach, strengthen us to be in his image by appreciating more what we have, in enjoying working for our dreams, in loving others just as they are as he loves us no matter who we are-how many times we fall & question him, to help others as he helps us everyday within nature b/c we are not alone, & to love ourselves as much as he loves us; so, if you think about it, it is not just God testing us but us. Sure things can get hard but God sends that to awaken us to be better & remember him.

"Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands." (Deuteronomy 8:3)

The Lord already knows our hearts. I believe one reason testing comes is to help us know our own hearts. When we are aware of the progress we've made spiritually, it is encouraging and increases our confidence. We become stronger Christians.

You must start using a capital G in front of His name. God tests us for alot of reasons. I have started asking Him for a grade. They are for strengthening, teach us obedience, endurance, longsuffering (patience),and how to outlast the devil, and we learn to trust God. Another good reason for tests--- We learn to take one day at a time, "because today has enough evils of its own", Saith Jesus Christ.

this life on earth is a time to prepare to meet god, we must prove ourself worthty to return to live with our father in heaven through following the gospel of jesus christ, and applying his atonement into our life, he tests cuz he has give us the commandments and has given us the agency to choose liberty and eternal life throught the great mediator of all men or to choose captivity and death according to the power of the devil. Were here to learn and to progress through the trials and challenges in life

Romans 5:1-5, "being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also:
knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience;
and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

Testing helps us grow up. It's not for God's benefit. He knows where we are in our Christian crawl, walk, run. God's "tests show us" where we're at as we strive to grow into His likeness. No tests, no progress! (2 Tim. 2:15)

Threw many tests and trials we will enter in..If the test doesn't kill us it will surely strengthen us.
---Lynn on 1/8/06

When we are tested, so is our faith. That's the purpose of the test\trial. When we (I included) say we love God, and would do anything for Him...He hears. More importantly, HE knows our motives. If we are just giving Him "lip-service"...expect a test. I've learned to be careful of the vows I make to God. I don't make rash promises. Not unless I want a spanking from Him.
