The word says he found those who sought him not.
John 15:16 bears witness.
The gifts of God are without repentence. In other words called and led to Christ prior to seeking him.
As Abraham was called while in uncircumcision.
Psalms says that his members were written before they existed.
He leaves the ninety and nine, so to speak, and goes for the one.

A song we sing in our church "The Savious sought & found me, Far from the narrow way. He made my wandering eyes to see On that wonderful, wonderful day. He sought me, He sought me, When I was wandering far away. He found me, He found me...O what a wonderful day."

This is a great great question. The night I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ I was not seeking Him, but rather I was seeking to please my then girlfriend my now wife by going to church with her. Who, unbeknownst to me, had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in the morning service of that very same day. Now some 47 years ago.

God seeks us all, and I, for one, accepted His offer and promises.

"For whoever calls upon the Name of YHWH will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how will they believe in whom they have not heard? and how will they hear without a preacher? So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:13,14,17.

I, like Mima, Ulrika, Anna, say that He sought me, brother Rev.Herb. I was lost and I was found. I didn't know what it was to live a life with Christ. He shined light into my heart. Romans 10:20; "..I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me." John 15,16; You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide;

John 6:44 No man can come to me except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

1John 4:19 We love him, because he fist loved us.

I sought after the Lord. I was the one that was lost and needed to be found. God alreay knew where I was. Just like that southern gospel song "Searchin'" by the Crabb Family. Yep, that's my song.

The night I accepted Christ, I was a teenager searching for something/someone and a Pastor in the neighbor just happened to stop by and visit and showed me exactly who I needed in my life. Best night a teenage girl could have ever had!

"Seek you all YHWH while he may be found, call you all upon him while he is near. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For all to seek of God, if perhaps they might feel after him and find, although indeed being not far from each one of us." Isaiah 55:6; James 4:8; Matthew 7:7; Acts 17:27.
