Baptism And Watery Planet

I have long been intrigued as to the deep significance of baptism and being born again. Baptism is total immersion in water, the most VITAL fluid on this planet. Is the been born again a copy of where we left our mothers womb, where we were immersed in water?

Bruce - Symbol? In Ezek 36:25-27, it says, "I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses. A new heart I will give you and a new spirit I will put within you,and I will put My spirit within you. Acts 22:16 - " Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins." Also in Acts 2 :38, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

The word baptise is from the Greek baptidzo which means to place fully within. Water baptism is only one type of baptism. It is symbolic of our being baptized (placed fully within) Christ. Read Romans Ch 6 and substitute "baptism" with the litteral translation "placed within" and you will get a clear picture of this baptism. Read also I Cor 12:13

Repent used in this context must necessarily mean a changing of one's mind."Also in Acts 2 :38, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."---- Salvation is instantaneous, a fact that it's hard for many to accept. No they demand to do something, come hell or high water, they are going to pay for their salvation. Absolutely ridiculous in light of what the scriptures say.

Being Born Again means to be birthed from the birth canal of God. Baptism is NOT being born again, but a symbol of dieing to the old self, and made new & clean. The ONLY way to become born again is by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord & Savior.

Ruben look real close at your response to the correct view given by Bruce. In your examples you will see a submitting to the action which can be viewed as repentance.
This becomes very clear in your offer of Acts 2:38. You see repentance first then baptism. It was the same with the Ethiopian eunuch, belief/repentance then baptism. Again I don't write for you because you don't care. I write for those who need to know.

Thank you, So what the deep significance of the text in NT that says, "Do you not know he separated the waters from the waters?"

Any connection with the Ethiopian eunoch saying "got gist it. Body of water what prevents me being baptised?"

David, check out Ephesians 5:26 for another cool symbolic connection to water. It says, "... by the washing with water through the word." The Word of God is to the spirit realm, as water is to the natural realm. Think of the importance of water to this world and then relate that significance to that of the Word in the spirit realm. It puts a whole new perspective on verses like Hebrews 1:3 which says He holds everything together by His powerful Word!
