That's basically what I'm saying. We do have the power to defend ourselves, but all the manly power in the world won't save us unless our country repents and begins to recognize God as our protector and savior. I mean, I'm guilty as well. I just don't know how God can look at us anymore and keep the enemeies at bay. It's really scary.

Many answers here tend to be nave. The truth is Almighty God has put us in a position to defend ourselves. Had that defense been pursued instead of a rich boy's ambitions to better his father's work our nation would be better off today. So we are left in the position of finding a leader with courage and resolution to defend this great nation.
It has occurred to many people, that perhaps Almighty God has blinded us to such a leader. Do you believe God has turned his back on us?

I think Bruce's quote from the bible was a perfect answer. Honestly, I think the approach should be love and kindness, and when it comes to maintaining the dignity of keeping Christianity's laws and freedoms alive in our own country, that only comes from obedience. God lets down boundaries when disobedience and rebellion occur in His people. So you see, it's not what we do TO the Islamic world, it's how we obey God that is the answer. Then God will protect us from enemies. All we have to do is show love. That is the simple and plain truth.

I believe bible principles are the foundation of Godly living and should be adapted as such. Our God is the One True and living God. God causes us to love one another and to do good to everyone, we as christians do not call for the murder of others that oppose our faith we extend love and understanding to the unbelieving and continue to practice our faith to educate. Other religions are not so and propagate hate. All other religions should sign a treaty when living in a Christian State.

Why? why indeed, are we so hung up on offending other people, while God is constantly being offended through-out the day and everyday by all kinds of people and their religions, and their god or gods, some how more than one. Woe!. Anyone who worships any other god other than Jesus Christ, well, it's an insult, and an affront, to the one, true, living, God.>>>I must defend my God, my Saviour, against all odds.

Should we accommodate the christian world? After all, it has been the cause of a great deal of misery and death in the world.

We should respect their land, but when they are on nonMuslim territory they must respect our laws. Recently Muslims stopped some Americans evangelizing in London. The computer is the best space to evangelize the Muslim community on since it is international space. We should not torture them or change our freedoms to go after them. (Loss of our freedoms). Those who did 911 should be put on trial - Bush, Cheney etc.

Religious wars solve nothing.
Two thousand years after the resurrection of Jesus, who came to earth to preach the good news, we must know that. It's time to realize that intolerance solves nothing. Kindness, smiles, and extensions of friendship are the only ways to peace--the Peace of Christ.

It is God who will defend us. As a nation, we need to speak the truth against any religion that seeks to destroy those who do not believe as they do. The Koran admonishes the Islamic to KILL all INFIDELS (nonbelievers). They believe they will achieve a greater spot in heaven according to the numbers of infidels that they destroy. It doesn't take much thought to understand the seriousness of surrendering the countries security to such a group. I think that Jesus would speak out:).

Iran Just past a Law, If your caught converting someone or if you convert to Christianity, You'll be put to Death by Beheading...

Trying to lead a Muslim to Christ is one thing, accommodating the "Islamic World" is another. Israel has tried to accommodate the Islamic world in peace negotiations for thousands of years and it never worked.
---Ken on 6/8/08|
The Bible says IF ANYONE comes to you with ANY other Doctrine than that of Jesus,
To Rebuke and to have NOTHING to do with that person, NOT to even BID them God-Speed,
Lest YOU become a PARTAKER of Their Sins.
It's like some people here, I'm NOT going to keep beating them over the Head with the Bible, Some have CLEARLY closed their Eyes to his words.
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 6/2/08|
I think we should treat followers of Islam as we treat followers of any other religion, or those with no religion at all. With love, trying to lead them to Christ.
---Todd1 on 6/2/08|
Paul in his letters to the churches emphasized many times to be aware of any false teachings. Islams "Allah" is a false god and we as christians should not accommodate the Islamic world.
---Ken on 6/2/08|
As a long term student of Islam, 30+ years, I can say that we have no point in common with them. 9/11 was not an aberation, its only uniqueness being the target.
In the 70's, not all terrorists were Muslims, true, but the vast majority of them were. When they are in the minority, they demmand all the civil liberties they can get, when they are in the majority, they grant no civil liberties to any one.

I have had a chance to evangelise on personal level to some Muslims as I live in UAE.
Some of them relate Christianity with America and the conflicts in the Middle East.
It is more effective when you make the message more personal and tell them that God loves them and you too love them and pass the good news.
In any case better not to expect the love we give to be reciprocated and even if we be tolerant they seem to be intolerant and even rude at times.
---Ephre3798 on 6/7/07|
We must note that the islamic world is largely very intolerant. However we must love them, continue witnessing to them and praying for them. We must not on the other hand give in to their threats and intimidating tendencies. It is a tall order because Islam and Christianity are exact opposites.
---pkay on 6/6/07|
The problem is that the media rarely reports the atrocities committed by Muslims (at least not in great detail). Those of us involved in organizations like Voice of the Martyrs and Barnabas Fund have tried to get the message across to Government, television news channels, newspaper editors etc. Most don't even acknowledge letters and those that do play the situation down stating that there is no evidence of things being so bad for Christians in non-Christian countries.
---M.A. on 2/15/06|
There is a picture of Jesus bowing and worship muhammad, the muslims in pakistan burned out churches and kill christians just for being christians. we need to pray for the salvation for the pagan Islam nation.
---willow on 2/14/06|
The only way we Christians are going to defeat the Islamic world is to tell them about Christ. They are the primary religion that considers itself superior to Christianty. Only personal evangelism will work. Along with that, prayer. Don't make it a "blanket" approach. Keep in mind, to them we Christians are of Satan, therefore the enemy. They are out to get us, and are not just going to take a passive stand.
---WIVV on 2/14/06|
Yes, love thy enemies but we do not have to trust them when we see so many crimes being committed by them.
Not all Muslims are terrorists but when 9/11 and other atrocities were committed, thousands went out celebrating the event.
Unfortunately they are followers of an evil person who used God to suppress women and those who disobey him.
---A_Catholic on 2/13/06|
Mike ... "In the 70's, not all terrorists were Muslims, true, but the vast majority of them were"
Remember Ireland, Vietnam, Rhodesia, South Africa, Nicaragua, Cyprus, Malaya, Kenya, Korea, ?
---alan8869_of_UK on 2/12/06|
Good question. I've wondered the same thing. Yes, we must love our enemies. It's a hard thing sometimes, loving someone who hates you so much. I have neighbors who are Hindu and we speak when we see each other. I've tried to open up and talk to them, they seem shorta shy. Remember, although Muslims are not Christians, they also are not a violent people. Insurgents/renegade Muslims are whom we have to be careful of.

Matt 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
