Not since my husband left me to go marry someone else.

Bob, I dont agree with your full statement "women knuckly under" no way..u miss the point in that text. Read Eph5 all of it. Christ is the head of the church..Christ is love, he is not bossy, contentious like some men n women but patient, loving, kind, humble, longsuffering. Both man n wife to be loving of each other, not slave one another.

Mima ... actually the same thing happened to me ... I received the message "Listen to you wife"

He does talk us, it is real.
My wife and I have a message that came from God. We are to bring as many together in LOVE for our Father and each other as we can.

If I heard voices in my head telling me to get out of my car and go pray with a bunch of kids around a flag pole.........hmmm not sure what I'd do! Does this happen frequently?

Hey, Catholic, I got my wife trained and I did it my self.
All I gotta do is snap my fingers and she will slap my face. She learns quick also. It only took two lessons before she had it down.

Yes, this has happened to me ... went to vote at the middle school around the corner, when I was leaving and walking to my car that voice told me to pray with the students outside. I kept saying I'll be late for work. No, do it ... I got of my car, walked up to the students, about 15, and had a call for prayer. We gathered around the flag pole, held hands, bowed our heads for silent prayer when out of my mouth comes a wonderful prayer for the day. I am His willing servant.

Yes, this has happened to me twice.

1. I was going through extreme turmoil, when I was younger. I got this message:

"Rise above the feeling, it's just satan trying to get you down".

I still use it today.

2. I was searching for a church to belong to. I was sitting in service at one church and thinking, I don't belong here, and got this message:

"Where I am, there you may be also."

Bob, my wife obeys promptly when I tell her let's go to the flea market or to a clothing store. Otherwise, she's in charge of anything that goes wrong in the house.

In the home women are to be submissive and not question. They are to 'knuckle under' and do what they are told, without question! My wife does what ever I say, as I am in charge,..well whenever she lets me be. Oh, I have to go, she is calling me...
---Bob on 2/20/06

Mima, my gut feeling is that that woman did not receive any message at all or, she received that message from her own husband.

You may want to ask her to have her head checked out.
---A_Catholic on 2/20/06

Any man who obeys God's rules about how to treat his wife will never order her to do anything that would go against her own wishes or conscience. He is told to love her as he loves his own body and as Christ loved the church. Any man disobeying in that way should not expect an obedient wife either.

The Lord has made it clear to me that my husband is my head and to be in subjection to him as long as he lives in accordance with the will of God. I love him and am glad to do so as long as he is a godly man. I take comfort in knowing that if he leads in a way that is not of God, he will answer for it because he is in charge. Remember, headship is a two way street. I see it as freedom in many ways.

Madison, you are welcome. I know you Thank God you didn't listen to him completely. There is no explaining why some people feel a need to control others, especially husbands and wives. I married at 16 and my husband was 22, he would tease he married me young to raise me up to suit himself. Boy did he get surprised! I'd had adult responsibilities from 11, doing all cooking, cleaning, etc., since Mom and Dad both worked and I was already more mature than some in their 20's. He caught on pretty fast.

Thanks, Darlene. Some husbands use submission as a ticket to dictate everything their wife does, as mine did. Telling me to go to college, major in teaching, teach in the inner city, or he would divorce me. That was the story of our marriage. He even told me to abort my third child, or he would divorce me. Well, that one I did not do. Funny, I did all the things he ordered me to do, except the abortion, and he ended up divorcing me anyway. So much for submission.

I'm pleased to hear that Madison. Thanks.
---M.A. on 2/19/06

M.A.- Since my divorce, I have heard God speak to me much more clearly than before. Problem is, I listened to my husband throughout my marriage as he chose my college major, and my career against my protestations. I have been in that career for 20 years now, and hate my job. So much for listening to my husband. Praise God that since my divorce I have been able to go back to school and pursue the career I have desired, where I can use my spiritual gifts.
---Madison on 2/19/06

Oh! Madison you are priceless with cutting to the nitty-gritty. Some women have such bad husbands if they listened to them they'd be bound for hell or live it on earth. In that case my view is Satan can't tell God's people what to do. Only listen to a husband if he doesn't tell you to go against God's Word. Yes, God has spoken to me but not about that. God has also used my husband to give me a wise answer when I was seeking for direction about something I was thinking of doing.
---Darlene_1 on 2/19/06

I've had several very strong messages from God which have been proven later to be absolutely accurate. None of them have been connected to having to listen to what a man has to say to me though. They have all involved doing what God has had to say to me.
