A new blog huh? Nobody here but us chickens! Now I'm thinking of KFC'S 2 piece chicken meal. More mashed potatoes please! Go to the second window.
---Len on 11/12/07

John, get Elder to break you off a chunk and send it to you-----in something stainless steel!
Montazuma's Revenge has nothing on Elder's coffee!
---NVBarbara on 4/4/07

Can we have too many Johns? 'John' is our original John from N.C. How 'bout the rest of the 'Johns' putting a # or last name letter after their name please! Or your state letters, I'm the only NV Barbara here, that works!
---NVBarbara on 4/4/07

Putting through? I didn't know we were on the course. Yo, where's Tiger?
---John on 4/3/07

wooh, how do you get that sweet O to go across the screen like that
---mark on 4/3/07

Hi everybody! Just putting through.

---Larry on 4/3/07

Hello other John, and welcome. How about we call you John... and whatever you want at the end, so no one gets confused on our past blogs. I have not been on vacation yet this year but it's a good idea.
Barbara, I hear Elder's coffee is getting critiqued on another blog again. I don't know if anyone can compete with his Java. Sounds like dangerous stuff.
---John on 4/3/07

Hello, new John! Where are you from?
---Bob on 4/3/07

Hey everybody! I know you have been your zany selves. I have been away for a few days and I just got back. Now I'm tired after the vacation. Love you all!
---John on 4/3/07

Move to the top left please!
---NV_Barbara on 4/5/06

Praise the Lord. I survived that awful URI. I had not been that sick in years, at least five years I think.

Another praise, I finally spoke with human resources at the part time job I got and will be able to alternate weekends that I work, so I won't have to work every weekend. I also will get a respectable pay for the work I will be doing.

God is good, all the time.
---Madison on 4/4/06

I understand completely Alan.
The more I learn, the more I find out I don't know!
---NVBarbara on 4/4/06

Alan I know how it is to always be right. There was one time I thought I was wrong but it turns out I was mistaken.
---ralph7477 on 4/3/06

nvB I am not wise, just wizened. I am experienced enough to know that I know nothing.
The only thing I do know is that although I am always right, I'm usually half wrong.
---alan8869_of_UK on 4/3/06

Alan, you're not old! Just well seasoned and you get better over time like a fine wine!
We appreciate your experience!
---NVBarbara on 4/3/06

Smarty pants John!
Hey dude, 'bout time for a new and improved "What's Up" blog!

We 'fall back' one hour in the Fall, and 'Spring forward' one hour in the Spring and Daylight Savings begins. This was our week-end to do that.
It does give us an extra hour of sunlight in the summer (timewise).
---NVBarbara on 4/2/06

Yes kid's, time is evermoving.
---John on 4/2/06

MP: I believe our Daylight Savings Time has to do with when our economy was agricultural, to allow farmers more daylight hours during the work hours to work on the farm. I think it is just silly to me.
---Madison on 4/2/06

Thanks for the prayers everyone. I spent most of the weekend on my couch, sweating out my fever and virus. Sleeping off and on. I am bummed because I missed church, and the weekend is now over. We had glorious weather, but I could not enjoy it. :(

It was last week Alan and Barb. I didn't know you changed your clocks in U.S. What is the purpose of that? You have so many different time zones anyway. Many in U.K. are not sure of OUR purpose in doing it either.
---M.P. on 4/2/06

nvB Or the one before that. As you get old you tend to forget.
---alan8869_of_UK on 4/2/06

nvB That was last week-end over here!

Ok, you have been prayed for and will continue to get prayed for, Madison.
---John on 4/1/06

Hi all. We are having glorious weather here, but I am too sick to enjoy it. I have a fever, headache, upper respiratory thing. Could sure use some prayer.
---Madison on 4/1/06

Update: I got lost on the way to the interview and it is rescheduled for Thursday at 4. The highways near the hospital are horrendous. They make the LA freeways look like country roads. I feel so stupid now. Pray for added grace from the interviewer.
---Madison on 3/29/06

Our prayers are with you Madison.
You're a bright and interesting person who has so much ability, God WILL be with you my sister! Just open your mouth and let Him speak through you. Hugs!

Rebecca D, so sorry to hear you are facing surgery. My prayers are with you,I know God will keep His hand over you.God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 3/26/06

Rebecca, God bless you, dear one! I will be praying for you. I know thinks look overwhelming right now but take this one step at a time. My mother functioned on one kidney all of her life, so that part will work out. Count God in on this one because he is faithfull! We will continue to pray. Keep us posted.
---John on 3/25/06

To say that I am not scared, I would be lying. But I know that God will guide the Doctor's hands during surgery. My husband has been so great with all of this going on. He works, cleans house, takes care of the kids. I try to help. But I tend to overdo it with this tube in my side. So there isn't a whole lot I can do. It is funny how you miss the little things that we take for granted everyday. Like stretching, laundry, etc. But I know a Father who can make me whole again. Thanks for all the prayers.

Rebecca: praise the Lord for a good church family, and extended family. I am so glad you will have help with you during this time. The Lord knows your needs and is filling them. Keep looking to Him. He is all you need to focus on at this time.
---Madison on 3/25/06

Hello sister Rebeca, I will have you in my prayers. Your wonderful love for Christ will carry you through this time. You are doing a great and awsome job in all your studies, I am so proud of you. From your brother thinking of you all the way from California.
---Lupe2618 on 3/25/06

Rebecca, I've prayed for you often over the past few months and will continue to do so. Keep your mind on the Lord and the fact that having Him in your life makes all the difference in the world! God bless you, Sis.
---DoryLory on 3/24/06

My church already knows my situaiton. The Pastor and his wife will be there when I have my surgury. My children and I will be staying with my in-laws for a couple of weeks. My surgery is May 3rd. So I know I will have help. Thanks for the prayers. :)

Rebecca: I will be praying for you at this crucial time in your life. Contact your church for help at this time especially with your husband going away. My church prepares meals for the people who have surgery and go through difficulties as you will be.
---Madison on 3/24/06

Rebecca, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this! Bless your heart sis, do you have some close friends or relatives close by to help you?
As far as living with one kidney, I have heard that you won't be able to tell much difference. My mother in law had surgery at 68 years old, they found during that time that she only had 1 kidney! She had lived that way all her life and didn't even know it! You will be heavily in our prayers dear heart.
---NVBarbara on 3/24/06

I went to the DR yesterday and I found out that I need my right kidney removed. The blockage I had done so much damaged and alot of scar tissue. He said that I have had this blockage for at leat 4 years. But the past Dr's that I have seen didn't detect this. And I have seen the x-rays and there is no way a person could miss it. My surgury is May the 4th. My husband leaves the 7th for Police Academy. When I get home, he will leave. I need alot of prayer. I still have this tube in my kidney though. :(
---Rebecca_D on 3/23/06

HI all. I am sick this week with an upper respiratory infection and the cure is just as bad as the ailment. I could use prayer for a clear head and strength.
---Madison on 3/22/06

There's an echo in here, where is everybody?
---NVBarbara on 3/21/06

I'm happy to hear that some things are looking up Madison. You and the boys are in our prayers daily. Don't push yourself too hard and let the stress beat you down, life is too short to let worries eat at you! God bless you little Sis.
---NVBarbara on 3/19/06

Hi all. Praises to the Lord. Sean is not only recuperating, he found a good job. Big answer to prayer for both of us, as I have been supporting him since August while he was in school.

Please pray for me as I continue to look for a second job. I need to pay off student loans for my sons and myself. My salary alone is not cutting it, and I would like to get some social work experience.

Pete, your friend will be in my prayers, as well as his wife. I pray her heart will soften and she will allow you to visit Carlo.
Nursing homes are lonely places and the people there need to be shown that they are cared about. God bless you for taking the Lord into visit these people who need to hear the Word, and need also a human touch.
---NVBarbara on 3/16/06

Please pray for my friend Carlo. He is somewhat older than me. He is 75 years old. I was visiting him in a nursing home and being an example of Jesus and now he's been moved to another nursing home. You see Carlos's wife does not like me and I'm afraid that she might not tell me where he is. Actually she put him there (she's 58). Please pray that God will open the door for me to see him again. Thank you.
---Pete on 3/15/06

Thank you John! God often uses others to get His plans done! Wanna move West? We could 'scout' for you. You'd like Nevada a lot more than Oregon I think, but its not so far away! Steve's Mom lives in Eugene and his brother in Portland, it rains too much there for me!
---NVBarbara on 3/15/06

Yesterday, my wife got a call from the manager of the clinic where she works. She said that she doesn't like what corporate decided but that it's not written in stone yet and that she's pushing to keep her. So it looks like the prayers are working.
I will mention to the other lady about Steve. I can't promise anything but let me do a little research. After all, maybe God has His own plans for Steve. I'm praying for all of us on this page. God bless.

No, Steve doesn't have a degree in Programming, but he does have 25 years experience.
---NVBarbara on 3/15/06

Thanks for praying everyone. Son is home now. He has a hiatal hernia and tore his esophagus vomiting yesterday. He needs to be on a less spicy diet. He loves hot buffalo wings. College kids live on them.
---Madison on 3/14/06

Please know Madison that Sean is in our prayers, along with your needs. Please let us know how Sean is doing and if they find what the problem is. I pray the problem is nothing serious. Luv ya' Sis.

Prayer request: My son, Sean, is in a hospital in Pittsburgh, 300 miles away. He got sick this morning and they are going to do an upper endoscopy either tonight or tomorrow.

I am hanging in there, waiting for the outcome of my meeting with boss and union. Don't know the results yet.
---Madison on 3/13/06

Please keep Madison in your prayers, she's having a rough spot right now.
We love you Sis!
---NVBarbara on 3/13/06

Thanks Barbara. Nothing new yet. In fact my wife just lost her best account in her cleaning busisness. Yes, You can pray for us. Thank you all.
I talked to a lady today about the programmer job. She asked me to ask you if Steve has a degree in that.
---John on 3/13/06

Thanks John for the new blog! I hope you had an interesting vacation, now rest up!
