Steveng--- Sorry, It was an error directing my post to you! I meant to direct what I quoted to jon who said: (and whom you quoted)

>>>>First let me clear up this misconception of the thousand year reign. That is nowhere in scripture and wont happen<<<<

I simply gave scriptures that speak of a thousand year reign that jon insists is nowhere in scripture.

Donna66: "Steveng-- ??? Rev 20:2.., Rev 20:4.., Rev 20:6"

And your point? Why do you piece together verses to meet your own interpretations? Why abbreviate your interpretations from a couple of verses. Look at the whole. This is like saying why did Paul write a whole letter to the Colossians when all he had to do is say, "Don't believe the words of man, but believe only the words of Christ.

Steveng-- ???

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands, and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Jon:

I would also suggest you read Isaiah chapter 11 and decide when these events will take place.

The passage describes the branch of Jesse judging the earth righteously and striking the earth with a rod of iron. The cow and the bear will graze and lie down together, the lion will eat straw like the ox, and a child will play next to the cobra.

Sounds like no time in history I have ever heard of. Must be a future time.

Steveng - *Blessed are the ones that rise in the first resurrection for they shall not see the second death.

is that because they have already been found to be in Christ in whom there is no condemnation?

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Or is it that they are those that believed in Him, have passed from death into life and will not undergo judgment?

John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Jon: "First let me clear up this misconception of the thousand year reign. That is nowhere in scripture and wont happen. Everyone will go to judgment at the same time. You see when Christ comes back there will be nothing left of earth. It will be gone. There is no rapture."

Only in your mind there is a misconception. Re-read Revelation chapters 19 til the end. Read it slowly and through the eyes of a child. Don't try to analyze every verse you read like most adults who are too knowledgable. In fact, read it without the verse numbers.

First let me clear up this misconception of the thousand year reign. That is nowhere in scripture and wont happen. Everyone will go to judgment at the same time. You see when Christ comes back there will be nothing left of earth. It will be gone. There is no rapture.

There are two resurrections.

The first, upon the soon to come return of Jesus, the dead in Christ shall rise first and the living shall be caught up with them.

The second resurrection, at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ, all the other dead shall rise and the books (plural) were opened and another book was opened which is the Book of Life. These other dead will be judged from the Book of Life - according to their works.

Blessed are the ones that rise in the first resurrection for they shall not see the second death.

where is grace? throughout the old testament and into the new, God CONFIRMED what He alone had already done in the predeterminate counsel. when we trust Christ , we confirm our name and our covenant with Him, the new covenant in Christ's blood (our free will ) . we have to walk away from salvation from God's point of view, not towards it. He said of Himself....I am slow to anger, long-suffering (covenant word), etc. He gave the best heaven had to secure everyone , not just some...all are special in his sight. we need a revival of the majesty of God and His exaltation as the one who sits upon the arc of the earth and not some mediocre god of our limited and finite imaginations.
beloved, it will be worth it all when we see Jesus!!

in Revelation 20:15 it says if anyone's name was not found in the book of life. in 21:27 it speaks of the book of life. the context will show you that it is the same book.

a person can have their name removed from the book of life put our names will never be removed from the lambs book of Life!!
Glory hallelujah to the name of the lamb!!!
---Mima on 6/3/08

Your name can be removed "if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. "..."He who OVERCOMES will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life,"( Rev 3:3-5)
---Ruben on 6/3/08

Everyone who was born as their name recorded in the "book of life", everyone.
All who receive Lord Jesus Christ as their savior have their name, recorded in the "lambs book of life"
a person can have their name removed from the book of life put our names will never be removed from the lambs book of Life!!
Glory hallelujah to the name of the lamb!!!

I believe that there is only one book that exsist in heaven. Whether you call it one or the other does not make a difference, and frankly a silly debate. Remember god is our creator. he knew us before we were formed in the womb, and I believe that he already knows whether or not we will choose to live our life serving him, so it makes sense to assume that our name is already predestine one way or the other at birth.
---Melanie on 6/2/08

The book of life contains the names of everyone who has been born. Names are blotted out of the book of life when a person dies without accepting Christ. The Lamb's Book of Life will be the same book, after the lost are blotted out, or it's a different book which contains the names of the saved.
---Billy on 8/22/07

Aren't they both the same thing? I might be wrong. It is the Lamb's Book Of Life that my name is written in.

How does the "lambs book of life" differ from the "book of life"?
---Dru on 4/10/06

Malachi 3:16-17
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

To WIVV
Also Lamb's book is refered to in Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

To WIVV; may I direct you to revelations 21: 27, where the Scriptures say, "which are written in the lamb's book of life." This clear statement would seem to be a direct reference to the lamb's book of life!
---mima on 3/20/06

There is no direct reference to the "Lambs book of life". The closest is the Judgement seat of Christ. (2 Cor. 5:10) Purpose of this judgement is to reward Christians for what they have done. The Great White Throne Judgement is for those who have not accepted Christ as personal Saviour. (Rev. 20:12) We, as Christians, will not be judged at The Great White Throne Judgement.
---WIVV on 3/20/06

Mine is in the Lambs Book of Life. Because the Lamb is another name for God. But my guess there is no difference. Because in Lk 10:20 it calls this book "Your names are written in heaven".
---Rebecca_D on 3/19/06

I believe the Book of Life has everyone's name in it who ever lived. The Lamb's Book of Life has thoe names of those who are saved & sanctified and will be entering into His presence. My name is in one- hopefully it's in the other.
