Its a nice idea to have a hobby blog. Mine is water painting. I'm trying to paint faces now and it's hard. I dont think I was born with natural talent, but I can learn it which makes it hard.!

I enjoy Drawing, painting, reading. I think my favorite is like comic book characters (Spidey's my Favorite) I just started painting about 3 years ago. I like oils and Spider-Man. He he he. I like running to. Its good exercise. Last but not least, I like kneeling every night and talking with My Savior and Lord. Thats a great "hobby".

My hobby is raising house plants.

This interesting the wonderful skills that you all have and consider hobbies. Matlaw 99 it is so great you are taking pictures for the military folks in Iraq and Afganistan.
Blogging here is kind of a hobby for me. It keeps my mind busy, so I don't get lonely. I like going for walks now that the weather is good, and as I said before I like house plants.

Linda, sorry to disappoint you and sorry that I took so long to respond. I was away. No. I do not beat people up. I never did. You see Linda, I know what it feels like and I choose not to harm others, thanks to Jesus Christ! People who have been abused have a choice. They can be bitter or better. I choose the latter.

Notlaw99 and DoryLory:
Thanks for the input. I will find time to follow your suggestions.
---Linda6546 on 4/4/06

Thanks Bruce, that sounds really interesting. I'll see if I can find the website.

I take photos of Support Our Troops Rallies and make photo slide shows of them to send to New Hampshire Reserve and National Guard personal serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. I always try to take as many photos as possible of individuals and families attending the rallies as it does a lot for unit moral. I also photograph unit home comings and work with military family support group photographing their events and making slide shows and CDs for them to distribute to their love ones

Moderator: Yes, I take the pictures myself & sometimes friends send me pictures. For instance, Jeffrey's going to send me some pics from his recent expedition to the Antactic (aren't you Jeffrey? :) I use all kinds of pictures: scenery (I fortunately live only a few hours from the Rocky Mountains), nature, animals, sunsets, I've made Christmas cards from pictures of a park covered in hoar frost, I've made birthday cards from pictures of balloons. teddy bears, flowers, etc. etc. The sky's the limit.

Moderator - I wish I could draw but unfortunately I'm not an artist. I work mostly with photographs.

Moderator - Are all the photographs from pictures you have taken? If so, what types of pictures?
---DoryLory on 4/3/06

My hobby is designing greeting cards and business logos, etc. on the computer. It's a wonderful outlet for my creative side that doesn't cost mega dollars like many hobbies. Linda, I use PrintShop and also work with Bitmap. I do a lot of transferring back and forth to crop and adjust the images to get them just right.

One of my favorites was a design I came up with for my son's band using a close-up photo of a campfire behind their name. The boys decided it looked like lava and loved it!

Moderator - Do you draw images and then put them into the computer to make ecards?
---DoryLory on 4/3/06

Linda6546, to crop and be able to add text to your photos you will likely want a low end photo editor insure you select one that can change graphic formats the Adobe Photoshop Elements is such a product but there are others. You may also need an e-mail product that is graphic friendly such as incredimail it is free download. A lot of the free e-mail services such as yahoo if you send jpg graphic embedded in the text formats they will fall off your transmission.
---notlaw99 on 4/3/06

I wanted to make greeting ecards out of the photographs I have taken. I wanted to learn how to crop pictures and put in appropriate words just like the e-cards we have at CN. I don't know how to start it. I have the pictures already but I am too busy to find the appropriate softwares to use. Any one who could help?

Hey, Peter: Your classmates got a bad hobby. But as the receiver of those actions, did'nt you follow the same hobby? Children have a way of "recording" what they have seen and what they have received! Human beings also have a way of "replaying" what was stored in their memories. I hope you were not infected with that hobby of beating other people up!

When I was a kid, my classmates had a hobby, beating me up!

M.P,
NO that is not what I meant. Card modeling is making things out of cardstock that end up looking like a plastic model when finished. Yamaha (japan site) has a lot of models that can be downloaded. Motorcycles, endangered species etc. It is pretty amazing what can be done.
---Bruce5656 on 4/2/06

I used to do a lot of cross-stitch until my eyes started to go bad...I should get a magnifying screen or something that I can use...I really used to love it...and rug hooking.
---Ann5758 on 4/2/06

Bruce I have a hobby which I would call card 'making'. Whether or not that is the same thing that you call card 'modelling' I'm not sure. I use fancy punches, rubber stamps, stickers, edging scissors, water colour pens etc. to create greetings cards. I print the inserts on the computer. Is that what you mean and do you do something similar? The money I raise from selling them goes to 2 Christian charities here in U.K.
---M.P. on 4/2/06

I also like to do sign language for worship songs like, Shout to the Lord, I Can Only Imagine, it brings out the meaning of the song better. When I do this, a person can't sit still, the power of God gets on everyone in the church and we have a good time in the Lord. I am working on the song Jesus What a Beautiful Name, for Easter.
