Verge Of World War 3

Are we on the verge of the World War 3? Where one third of mankind will be killed?

Moderator - I believe we are as I have been studying in detail this topic for the past month. The USA will be attacking Iran shortly and I greatly question what Russia or China might do with our army out of the USA.

Perhaps not the verge of World War III, but certainly on the verge of a time of great great human destruction. When we attack Iran we will be using a limited, strategic, nuclear bomb. A Bomb built to penetrate deep into the earth, certainly it is impossible to see the consequences of this action. I believe this action will take place before the August 6 elections. Otherwise Mr. Bush might not be able to swing it.

Moderator - I agree it will be politically motivated and to secured the southern Iranian oil fields.
---mima on 12/21/07

Moderator how certain are you of the US attack on Iran?

Moderator - I would put a 99% chance within the next 18 months, but probably on the sooner side. President Bush is very serious about stopping them from getting a nuke. Also, I see the US securing the southern Iranian oil fields. I see the US attacking without a formal announcement, otherwise the Iranians Army which is 800,000 compared to the US 400,000 would invade Iraq. China whom gets 20% of its imported oil from Iran will not be happy. Russia who is an friend of Iran will not be happy either. Sets up the stage for World War 3 if anything goes wrong.

We could be on the verge of WW3 tensions are strong, tempers short and hot right now. Will 1/3 be killed only God knows such a thing as that we certaintly have he weapons now that could cause such damage alone not including chemical warfare. But always take heart and courage as long as God seats on His throne all is well even during the worst of times.
---Jeanne on 11/14/06

I think we've been on the verge of WWIII since the end of WWII But I think WWIII will defenatly be ideological not so much national. So we are currently in WWIII and have been since the formation of Israel. it just hasn't been that "hot" for the entire time. As far as Russia and China, So far I think they have been siding with the USA in the UN and I don't see them wanting direct War in their nations so I wouldn't be too worried about them. Korea has china somewhat worried.

LOL, I have a Masters degree in Business and I excelled in economics and struggled with accounting. I dont know Ralph, altering our lifestyles by living more economically and stop buying cheap goods from China produced with pretty much slave labor thereby also reducing Chinas need for oil all makes perfect sense to me. I am guessing that you are not willing to sacrifice anything except other peoples children to maintain your lifestyle. Bless you in your journey.
---randy on 4/13/06

Randy my friend, I see now why you can't balance your checkbook. You might be well served to take a basics economics course. You would learn that the things you are stating really don't make sense.
---ralph7477 on 4/12/06

Ralph, reducing our need for oil is something we can do to curtail our dependence on oil, but no one wants to make any kind of sacrifice. Why dont we try smaller cars and smaller homes? I am concerned about who makes a profit. The oil companies are the largest businesses in the world thanks to bushs tax cuts yet injured vets retuning from Iraq have to go begging for services because of the same tax cuts. I am still not willing to sacrifice the young on the alter of greed.
---randy on 4/12/06

Randy, first of all I thank you for your service. Secondly, I agree that curtailing the need for oil would be great but we have to deal in reality. Until another source of energy is made economically feasible, the world will run on oil. China's oil demand is increasing exponentially, causing high prices. Not having enough of our own oil will hurt everybody. Why are you so concerned about who makes a profit?
---ralph7477 on 4/11/06

Randy I don't know if you have your mind made up or not. The way you post makes me think so.
Read my post again you will see that I spoke of Exxon first and then I spoke of Exxon,
Chevron and ConocoPhillips together.
---Elder on 4/11/06

Ralph, are you wiling to sacrifice your children so you can drive a SUV? We need to curtail our appetite for oil, not declare war. Who will get the profits from the drilling of oil on public lands? Do you think the oil companies will give over the profits out of the goodness of their hearts? If you think the Middle East is more stable now you are uninformed. BTW I also served in the army during Viet Nam and I am still serving my country in the Middle East.
---randy on 4/11/06

Randy, you are sincere but your comments are coming from pure emotion. Pres. Bush is partly to blame because he switched gears and characterized Iraq as a mission to liberate a country. Truthfully, as long as we are dependent on foreign oil, we need a stable Middle East and Saddam destabilized the region. As Elder points out, domestic oil companies are loaded with cash and are ready to tap US oil reserves, but environmentalists are blocking all efforts.
---ralph7477 on 4/11/06

elder, are you saying that those oil companies paid more in taxes than the took in in revenue?
---randy on 4/11/06

Nurse I am glad to hear that and may have all ready but that was along time ago and I forget. I do know, as you do, an E-4 does not have the "horse power" to conduct an activity like that by themselves.
I remember that she was visiting her boyfriend and he took the pictures and later tried to use them to protect himself. He, being a senior NCO, should not have been fraternizing with a Jr. NCO to begin with. He was one who allowed the activity.

Here is an interesting thought about the "War for Oil."
Exxon/Mobil announced a $10.71 billion profit in the 4th quarter of 2005 and over $36 billion for the year.
That is $10 billion and 71 million in just 3 months and an average of $3 billion a month.
Exxon, Chevron and ConocoPhillips together paid $44 billion in corporate income tax.
Does that change our minds about some little dirty sand soaked Middle Easterner getting all of our gas money?

If the UN is inept and useless why was the US trying to enforce their resolutions by going to war? The other countries wanted the UN to apply continued pressure before we went to war. And please remind me how many WMDs were found. 14 of the hijackers were Saudi, there is no religious freedom in Saudi, Saudi is the largest financial backer of terrorist organizations in the world, Saudis regularly behead people for theft and adultery, US citizens are not allowed to leave and we attacked Iraq!?
---randy on 4/11/06

Everyone remember this is not a war about oil, this is a religious war ... good against evil. That's what is going on. Those four angels at the Euphrates River. Wonder who or what they symbolize.
---Nellah on 4/10/06

Elder ... i thought her lover and superior had been disciplined, as he should have been. Was he not taking part as well, at least by being there and bing in the photos ... that definitely indicates at least approval. It was wrong if he was not disciplined, and it would have been right if the bosses who allowed the culture to develop should also have been censured
---alan8869_of_UK on 4/10/06

Randy, the fact is that Saddam was removed because the inept, useless United Nations ("We really mean it this time, you better listen or else") passed resolution after resolution which no country seemed interested in enforcing except for the USA, then others later on. None of it would have been necessary if the 42nd president had continued with weapons inspections but apparently he was too busy entertaining himself and couldn't be bothered.

An illegal order is one that would violate military regulations and/or the Uniform Code of Miltary Justice. This includes murder, torture and numerous other offenses. Military members have an obligation to disobey unlawful orders.
---NurseRobert on 4/10/06

Elder, Her "supervisor boyfriend" was prosecuted and is was sentenance to 10 years in jail. The commanding general of the prison was relieved of duty and her career in the military is over.

There have been 10 people court martialed over this incident. You are right, however, that NONE have been officers. That is a shame.
---NurseRobert on 4/10/06

Nurse explain what an illegal order is and how do you tell?
Randy you didn't see me say we should fight a war over energy.
---Elder on 4/10/06

Alan, Nurse, Randy, look at my post again.
I didn't say she shouldn't have been disciplined. No supervisor including her "boy friend" supervisor was disciplined or prosecuted. An E-4 doesn't have that "power" to just walk in and do what this one did especially when she is just visiting the compound. Women in charge of male prisoners is another issue. The upper rank allowed and caused this incident and walked free.
I also said we should get away from foreign oil.

Ralph, I disagree that these wars have to do with justice. When we entered Afghanistan to find UBL that was justice. Deposing a dictator, as despicable as he was, and replacing them with a government that appears to be more of the same is not justice. It has more to do with revenge.
---randy on 4/10/06

Torture? What torture? Randy, Justice was the reason for Afghanistan and Iraq.
---ralph7477 on 4/9/06

Elder ... I am surprised at your comment, if E 4 was the US girl who tortured and degraded POWs. It is not as if she had orders from above to do this, she seemed to do it for her own gratification, and that of her lover.
I once got dismissed from my job for refusing to act dishonestly.
---alan8869_of_UK on 4/9/06

Elder, that is the same argument they used at Nuremburg. As a soldier, one of the first things I was taught was to disobey an illegal order.

Torture is NOT what this country holds dear.

Elder, we need to fight a war over energy? There are a lot of reasons that we should fight, for justice would be reason #1. But I dont think it is Christ-like to fight so the oil companies can make more money. We dont need more oil we need to change our over-indulgent lifestyles and work on alternative resources. And I am surprised at your response about the E-4. I thought you were all about personal responsibility.
---randy on 4/9/06

Moderator from my military point of view which is like a lot of other military members, we need to fight the war.
I mean we really need to fight the war and get away from the liberal press and politics that are stifling us.
There is no way the E-4 female should have been prosecuted for her treatment of prisoners. Her supervisor maybe but not her. We also need to start getting our oil from Alaska, Ohio, Texas, off the Eastern shores in the Atlantic and other US places or stop whining.
---Elder on 4/8/06

Moderator, you are getting into economics way above my ability, I cant even balance my own checkbook. LOL I want to say that I had seen somewhere around $100 a barrel, I am assuming US dollars, is break even. It has something to do with extricating the oil from the sand.
---randy on 4/8/06

Nellah has hit on it. It's really all about money and wealth, as is most of human behavior. New oil reserves are constantly being discovered. Even Mexico has just found a huge reserve. As long as the USA remains such a huge consumer of crude and other products manufactured around the world, it is in nobody's interest to start a world war. As countries become increasingly interdependent it sets the stage for a one world government type of system.

Items that I have read on the subject are now saying that Canada actually has the worlds largest oil reserves but the process to extract it at this point is prohibitive. But I have seen that Russia does have larger oil reserves than the Saudis. But who really knows politics plays too big of a part of the disinformation. This administration has a huge personal interest in keeping Saudi afloat.

Moderator - At what price points was the Canadian oil extractable?
---randy on 4/7/06

I understand that Russias oil reserves are far larger than those of the Arabian area. This could change the politics of energy significantly, especially as Russia becomes increasingly capitalistic.

Moderator - Are you sure about their oil reserves? If I am not mistaken, I think the Saudis have the largest oil reserves on the planet? But yes, the Russians have much oil.
---randy on 4/6/06

Neither China nor Russia are happy about the Iran nuclear problem ... but, money's involved.

In most States there is a group that volunteers in a Military setting that supports that State apart from the National Guard. That group is called the State Guard or, as in our State, we are called the Defense Force. We train to take over the duties of the National Guard when they are called away. I am a Chaplain in our Avn Blt and recruit members also. The Ranks and duties are the same except for leaving or being in combat.

The Dept. of Emergency Management should be listed in your Government pages of your phone book. You can take courses on line through them. The Defense Force will fall under your States Dept. of Military affairs. Check both of these departments out. Our Defense Force recruits civilians, prior Military and Retired Military. Check your state for the age cut off as some of them are quite high.

Moderator - Being military Elder, do you have any comments on the current Iran situation?

1st Cliff ... Revelation 9:15 ... The four angels were released; for this very hour of this very day of this very month and year they had been kept ready to kill a third of all the human race. (Good News translation). King James ... And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for 10 slay the third part of men. Those four angels at the Euphrates River are Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey.

Hiding in a shadow provides no protection only concealment.
The statement was made that Iran's missiles could reach Israel and maybe Europe, but not the US. That all depends on where they are PLACED. Be prepared to see Washington, DC attacked in the near future. People in the US need to get involved in their own states with the Emergency Management offices and learn what they can do. It is our own responsibility to safeguard freedom and our way of life.

Moderator - Tell us more about being involved with the Emergency Management office.
---Elder on 4/3/06

it will take less than 10 minutes for a ballistic missle to reach Israel from Iran - not much time to even respond.

My prediction is that Israel will strike first with their Jericho II missiles and other countries will get involved.

Moderator, you have mentioned some interesting ideas. I am living in my third Islamic country. From my experience I think it will take an attack on their religion to get them involved. We should take their response to the cartoons seriously. Where I am living now, they couldnt care less on what happens to the rest of the Muslim world as long as they dont have any lifestyle changes. I dont think Iran possesses the capability to have a missile to reach the US but probably Israel.

Moderator - That's correct their missiles could reach Israel and maybe Europe, but not the US.
---randy on 4/3/06

I have heard that when it gets right close to the end, USA will go to war against Russia. My grandmother told me that her grandfather told her that it will take place. Now I know we can't go on someone's word unless it comes to pass. But USA are treading on dangerous grounds with the Russia. The war has already started, (Iraq) and I don't see it getting better anytime soon on this earth. Lord forgive me but, I think when we had Ben Ladan we should have killed him, the USA rebuilt their city.

Moderator - We have not found Ben Laden.
---Rebecca_D on 4/2/06

Nellah; On the verge of ww3? WW3 started with the attack on the World Trade Center! Where do you get the 1/3 figure?

Moderator - By the end of the Tribulation, the number is 50% of mankind is killed.
---1st_cliff on 4/2/06

mod. It's more like Iran will attack Israel with the islamic countries secretly supporting them and Iran will only move when Russia tells them to act, then we the USA will put a stop to it then china gets involved.

Moderator - Yes, Iran will be attacking Israel in an effort to rally support from other Arab nations. However, at this point they don't have the support as the US has their support with the exception of Syria and Palestine.

Moderator, please tell me how you can know USA will attack Iran soon? There has been nothing but speculation about that in the news but nothing concrete. Surely the USA wouldn't further weaken her homeland defenses by doing that. Also is USA that stupid to pour good money after bad considering the nature of the Muslims to kill nonMuslims and each other?

Moderator - If one reads the world newspapers in Europe, Arabic, China, etc you get a more full picture of what is going on. No one country tends to report the full news including the US. President Bush may attack Iran without warning and then tell the American people. I don't expect him to give the Iranians an exact date because they could attack us without warning out of survival. The smart money has been pouring into gold, silver, copper, oil as the rich are preparing economically for what is about to happen. Attacking Iran IMHO, could set the stage for the Mog battle mentioned in scripture.
