Because our time is heavy with all the signs that indicate the End is very near. Consider the strength of the nations against Israel. Consider the unusual weather afoot in the world. A casual study of history would show any observer that we are quickly arriving at the peak. If there is a rapture to come, and I believe there is surely it can not be far away; in fact it might be today!

Because they are believing incorrect information. People have mis-interpreted Revelation and are upsetting many others. Daniel was told to seal up his scroll for future events. John was NOT. His was for a First Century audience, under Nero. The worst most horrific Anti-Christ of all time.
The "Rapture" is a term invented in the late 19th century by a priest, who mis-read scripture. Christ returns once more only.
Test what you hear with Scripture. Hal Lindsey was very very wrong.

The church is looking for signs and wonders instead the great commission of spreading the Gospel. End of the world predictions sell books. Has the church become like the money changers in the temple?

We are suppose to keep on the watch, in the bible it says the "watchmen" do not "fall asleep" or the thief can enter in. Looking at this we donot know the exact time when the end will come ,but we need to be ready & on guard preaching the goodnews until Jesus comes again.

greetings. The changes to come will not be a result of God's doing,it will be a result of man's lack or disregard of spiritual values and his obsession with material greed.Jesus said if the world crashes, so what? Are we to fear our future? Our Father approaches us and cares for us as a real Father.A real Father as he is always encourages us with love not fear.He has always led us and not drove us foward. He has made us aware of troubled times and to be prepared. Many men teach fear to drive men to God.

any denomination that "predicts" the end of the ages is a cult and should be turned from. no one can know the time or date but the Father. and if he wouldn't reveal it to the son what makes you think he'd tell a regular human?

best evidence suggests: to draw people to their church.

there is a difference between "world" and "earth".
we have scriptures that tell us the earth will always be.
but also scriptures that tell us of the end of the world.

both are true. this planet will continue. but the demonic ruled/influenced world system will end.

greetings.Man has been taught to be watchful for an upcoming event of extreme porportion. It is natural that people who value their eternity to exercise their spiritual eyes,be aware of the signs of the heaven and not on earth. Many of man's bold predictions have missed their mark.It is apparent that over the spiritual horizion, beyond our sight is coming a change and in the blink of an eye there will be much to our supprise.Without miracles man ignores God so man tries the end times approach to his brother

r.w!! My, but that sounds awful, to say someone else is using a "perverted" edition of the Bible! I, personally, can't focus clearly on the King James version for very long, and the newer versions have clearer English for the times; in King James' day, that WAS modern English.

to nancy, this is what happens when people use perverted bibles like you do, saying the Bible doesnt say the end of the world but instead the end of the age. let's use her verse in Matt 24:3b 'and the end of the world?' (KJV) see the difference and the other gospels that come from using them?

Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the (end of the world) hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. The cross was the end of the world, were living in the dispensation of Grace, it will continue until the Father tells Jesus it's over.
---Exzucuh on 6/6/06

The Bible does not say the world will end. The only reference to ending is "the end of age" which is in Matthew 24:3 and Hebrews 9:26. Jesus will come back with the saints (Christians) to this earth to rule and reign for one thousand years, then there will be a new Heaven and new Earth which we will inhabit for eternity in our changed bodies given to us by the Lord. I just don't see anything that refers to the world completely ending.

I go to a Godly church, so my end-time views are full of the unction of the Holy Spirit, Lynn.

So there.

Now just see how prideful your words sound!

oops part 3 28: so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

As you can see with the words not replaced the end of the age was the day He died, that ended the age of death. The second coming is the end of the world.

Part 2 25: Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the Holy Place yearly with blood not his own; 26: for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27: And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment,

Heb 9:22-28 In 2 parts
22: Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. 23: Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24: For Christ has ended, not into a sanctuary made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.

I do not go to a "church" so my end time views are inhabited by the unction of the Holy Spirit.
---Lynn on 4/5/06

My brother belongs to a certain Christian sect that has been predicting the end of times for almost a century. What is the true motivation for an end times doctrine? Is it to keep people coming to church and donate money or is it spiritually based? Why should we worry about when it happens if we are living as the best Christian we are capable of? We all know Jesus is coming but are we ready to face him?
---George on 4/4/06

Probably because the Word tells us that no man can predict it.

"God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the whole world has been crucified to me and I unto the world."

End of the world for me was when Jesus took up residence in my heart.
