The New Ten Commandments

Decided to give Hollywood a break and watched a little of the new Ten Commandments. Did you recognize the "joke" Moses used about the man in a flooding situation passing up three chances to get out? I changed the station.

I seen a little of it. It doens't line up with the word of God. The old Ten Commandments movie with Yule Briner, is so much better. It goes along with the bible. I would like to know what bible these people were reading out of, cause I sure couldn't find some of the things they were saying. I give it two thumbs down.

yeah this is what satan will do to deceive the elect...I do like the old Commandment best with Charleston Heston...

I watched half of the first night and caught many things not in the bible.

Rebecca, there are many ways in which the old TEN COMMANDMENTS doesn't line up with the Bible.

1. It shows the Passover taking place at a half-moon instead of a full moon. BAD RESEARCH!
2. The parting of the Red Sea took all night long, according to the Bible.

Yes, Charlton Heston played Moses, and Yul Brynner played Pharaoh. I seen the old movie Saturday evening on ABC. If no one has seen this movie, I would recommend you watch it. It is so good. This is one movie I could watch over and over again.

I chose to pass on that movie. Rebecca, I think it was Charlton Heston in the old version. He was only in his 30's at that time. (1956)

My husband's parents came over both nights to watch it with us. I watched just a little of the first night, couldn't watch anymore. It was a total joke. I like the original one much better.

As soon as I saw the previews for this movie, I said to my friends "Moses is too young and I won't be able to believe this Hollywood version of this movie." Sounds like I was right. I did NOT watch it. Moses was wayyy too young for I hope we're allowed to be humorous from time to time on here, are we?

Nellah ... I have not seen the film, I do not think it is here inthe UK. But I recognised the story of the man in the flooding situation. Whist it is not in the Bible, it does tell an important point ... that sometimes God does not help by using great obvious miracles, but through ordinary people, who happen to pass by with their dinghy. Spurn them not!
