I would say it is time for him to memorize scriptures that help him when he is attacked by the enemy. Show him the scriptures that give assurance of salvation and have him make memory verse cards to carry around.

He seems confused. He has what I call hand me down religion, which means they will say, "bless God if my great grandmother believed it than so do I". he just needs to have a one on one with God. No one else around. Like the old hymn, Just a little talk with Jesus.

2. The man seems legalistic by some of his comments. He says he can tell if a woman is a Christian, if she is wearing Christian clothes, not wearing makeup. Can't work on Sunday. If it is not KJV, it is counterfeit. Some of those beliefs are from upbringing, and some is from his church. I'm telling this for 2 reasons because it bothers me and I wanted to get it off my chest. I would like you to pray for him. I believe he is saved, just mixed up.

1. He knows scripture. He says Christians are known by their fruit. I said the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,peace... He says he does not want to believe in "easy believism." I said, it is better than doubt and guilt. I asked him if he was baptized. He said no, his pastor would not baptize him, I asked why. He said because the pastor would not think he was saved. I suggested he go to a differant church, they would believe he was a Christian. He said, I never said I was a Christian.

Kenneth Hagin's little booklet titled "In Him" will definitely help & it only costs $1. Also Pastor Creflo Dollar's teachings on righteousness will surely help.

Show him scriptures on it. For instance, 2Corinthians 5:17; 1Peter 1:23; Romans 8:14-17; John 3:3-7;2Corinthians 4:16 and get him in a good group that is mature in the word so that they can help him grow. When I first got saved I didn't feel any different and I thought that I needed to be saved again after I sinned. But when someone started teaching the word I got understanding on who I am in Christ.

I would tell him to get down on his knees and cry out to God and don't come up until he is sure he knows he is saved. This is one of Satan's ways to confuse us about our salvation. this is an attack from Satan, making him think that he isn't saved. But for me to be sure I'd drop down on my knees and be sure.

I Believe that second Thessalonians 2:10 describes this man situation. In the second phase of the verse it says," because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved." A person in a this situation does not believe that God is a rewarder of those who come to him.

You need to tell him that his conviction and acceptance is just the beginning. That's the first step in transforming our lives, to seek the perfect will of God. Thru pray, study of God's word, and the Holy Spirit is where the assurence comes. Seeking knowledge and wisdom of what He has done and WILL do for us is a learning process. Just getting out of the habit of living in the flesh is a struggle in itself. We are all creatures of habit.

God created us in His image. Sin destroys our fellowship with God and mars that image. Seperated from God we deserve to die for the wage of sin is death. But, Jesus bore our curse. He experienced death for us and prompted by His love, He redeemed us.
IF WE REPENT - HE FORGIVES US
IF WE CONFESS - HE PARDONS
RECEIVING HIS GRACE BY FAITH WE ARE SAVED!
We become sons and daughters of God and we receive eternal life!
It is a PRESENT EXPERIENCE for all who believe!
