Sometimes I feel that I have encouraged myself in the Lord and he (The Lord) had nothing to do with it and he was not even interested. He is supposed to be an ever present help in time of need and it seem like when I need him He is nowhere. I have spent my money and most of my life helping other but when I need help there is no body there. I feel forsaken. I am asking for encouragement but I wll not produce it on my own. He has to encourage me straight and only from him. I have prayed for wisdom for 25 years every day, and today I feel that I have been granted none of it.

mj on 9/23/11, Psalm 46:10 "He says,BE STILL, and KNOW THAT I AM GOD"
At about 2:30 am 9/24 I awoke when the "storm" rolled in, and it was not pretty, however, I immediately started to pray this, and was reminded of Mark 4:39 "He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, Quiet! BE STILL! Then the wind died down and IT WAS COMPLETELY CALM." Immediately I had an inner calm and sense of the Lords presence, so waited, and He calmed the storm without. All I did was to be still, knowing that He is God, I looked my son in the eyes, and he backed down, jaw open, turned and went to sleep. When hes in a drunken rage it can last a LONG time and can be very frightening. BTW, he found a place to live, praise God.

---mj on 9/23/11 Amen and thank you. In prayer about all, specifically how, received the following in an devotional email:
"Isaiah 52:12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel [will be] your reward.
. Never need the bride of Christ, when arrayed in her battledress, proceed anxiously to meet the enemy. Nor shall she flee from villainous hoards, defeated and brought low. She is the queen of God's right hand and ever shall He protect her comings and goings, guarding her both before and behind, and ever granting her sword arm the full measure of His omnipotent strength. Rejoice in the Lord! Rejoice"

Psalm 46:10 "He says, Be still, and know that I am God,
>>>short yet powerful knowing that whatever happens,God is in control.
Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
>>>there is no reason for us to fret or be sad if God is with us,this assures us that God is all we need (c: even if people forget us or leave us

I could use prayer and encouragement. I need to separate myself and minor children from certain ungodly influences. 2 Cor 6 "come out from among them, and be ye separate." The Lord has worked many changes in our lives in recent months, including my
Separating from "friends" who had a negative impact on our lives. This time its my older son, who is controlling, verbally abusive, threatening. He'd moved home after college, is supposed to be moving out, however, certain issues have come up and I feel I need to do something as soon as possible.
If I cannot get him to leave, then I want to take my minors and leave, but Im unsure where to go. We were supposed to be moving soon, but it no longer appears to be soon enough

Verses of the bible is good for learning and all, but there is nothing like having a real friend by your side to help you pull through the rough times. That's what friends are for, not the virtual friends you find on these blogs.

Do an online KJV bible search for "one another," "each other," "comfort," and "encourag" to find what real christian living is all about.

You may also find what you are looking for by puting your faith to work - working with the poor and homeless. Faith without work is dead faith.

PSALM 91-ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHAPTERS (1)He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.(3-6)Surely He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, & from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover me with His feathers, & under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield & buckler.Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor by the arror that flieth by day, Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.(11) For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.... READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER, it'll encourage you & let you know you're not alone in your trials.:-)))

Psalm77
I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice, and he gave ear unto me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed.
And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember your wonders of old.

2/... The other Scripture is "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus has brought me through everything always and because He never changes He will keep on bringing me through each and every time --- I go through tremendous struggles but the Lord is faithful and the victory that He gives at the end is just so sweet. NEVER GIVE UP.
---Helen_5378 on 5/27/06

The Scripture that has helped me enormously in the midst of my every day trials is Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" .... I know that I know that no matter what the devil throws at me that none of it can come to anything because this is God's promise to me.
---Helen_5378 on 5/27/06

It does say in the Bible that it "rains on the just and the unjust" meaning that while we're here on this earth things will happen in life to good and bad people. I read the book of Job whenever things are difficult for me, and this reminds me that not very many people have gone thru the trials that he did, and God blessed him more after all that he went thru than before. Also, no one has gone thru what Jesus did before He died on the cross....God bless in the name of Jesus...marie8944

Faith works exactly like a muscle - the more you work it the bigger it gets. Unfortunately the only time you really get to work your faith is when you're in a storm! So, this is your opportunity to grow spirtually and take new ground. That's what James meant when he said to count it all joy when you fall into various trials - he knew that the end result is a stronger, tougher Christian.

Madison:

From God's point of view, the eval went well. He has you exactly where he wants you-- for the moment--in his arms, and within his will.

He will accomplish in you what he began when you were first saved, even if you kick and scream against the goads, or else you surrenderingly go along with it.

God is good all the time
All the time God is good

Sis, you have been in many prayers!

With every trial or storm we go through, remember that God has a hedge up around each of us. This hedge has only one gate and He is the gate-keeper. Nothing gets inside that hedge unless God permits it. If he permits it, it is because He has already seen the beginning to the end. He sees that the end is better that the beginning and it will refine you and bring Him glory. If not, it doesn't touch you.

The storm was rough but the ship (my soul) was anchored fast in the hope of Christ in me, the hope of glory. A soul anchored there in the hope in the presence of God can be beat against by wind, waves, and rain and not lose sight of the destination.

I took a trip to Oklahoma during that time and told the two ladies that went with me that I knew a storm was coming. And did it ever. Guess what my Scripture was. It was:

"Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Heb 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. "
---Linda6563 on 4/28/06

I recently went through a storm that I knew was coming 2-3 weeks before it happened. The way Father spoke to me was through music. For 2-3 weeks, every Christian song I "heard" on the radio when I was in our van had to do with storms. When I use the word "heard", I mean that my heart and mind hearkened or came alive to that music. Songs like "The Anchor Holds" and "I'll Praise You in this Storm" just seemed to play over and over and my ears never missed them.
---Linda6563 on 4/28/06

And in any trial, the greatest witness is the one who saw everything from beginning to end. Jesus is He who is the faithful and true witness. You can trust Him to speak on your behalf and bear witness to your testimony.
---Linda6563 on 4/27/06

You are never in a storm without a word. You can find that principle in Acts where Paul receives a message that none on the ship going in the wrong direction would perish. Is there any particular passage of Scripture you were led to read and meditate on before your storm started? Just remember this: He loves you so much that He will never calm the storm around you before He calms the storm in you.

You must determine if it is a trail of chastisement or an attack of the enemy if it is chastisement you must endure it for God considers you his child and is getting you ready for something great, your endurance and patience pleases him. If it is the enemy repent,God will deliver you immediatly. try repentence first and ask For guidance.

Madison, buy and read Splashes of Serenity by Elaine Miller. $7.00?

She is the wife of my pastor, and her book is about to go ballistic. BN is now promoting it heavily, as well as the Binghamton PBS station.

The stories are actually about women in our church. Last summer, Elaine taught the book as a women's study in SS, and it was very popular.

Madison; these scriptures has helped me a whole lot. 1 Peter 1:4:12-13, Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you, (13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. These verses are a big help to me, whatever I am going through with.
---Rebecca_D on 4/27/06

This isn't a specific verse but something my pastor's wife says whenever someone is going through a difficult time. God already knows what's going to happen.

He already knows how it's all going to turn out so there's no point in stressing over it. You might as well relax and trust Him to work it out for you.
