No post here states god doesn't keep his promises in a timely manner to benefit anyone. My post stated that often to the one awaiting the fulfillment of said promise it comes too late to be of benefit to them. Abraham did not benefit from being made a father of many nations though the promise was kept. People rationalize gods purposes because they don't understand them. When making any comment about his word care should be taken. Also, when repeating what someone states care should be exercised to repeat what they said- not what you think they are saying. I don't have to understand what god does. That is attending to matters too high for me. God keeps his promises according to his will. Whether I like his timing or not is of no consequence.

Job 23. 5 Therefore am I troubled at HIM presence: when I consider, I am afraid of HIM.

Sorry typo, HIS NOT HIM!

5 Therefore am I troubled at HIS presence: when I consider, I am afraid of HIM.

We all should be!

i echo Job!

Job 23.12 Neither have I gone back from the COMMANDMENT of his lips, I have esteemed the words of HIS mouth more than my necessary food.

13 But HE is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what HIS soul desireth, even that HE doeth.

14 For HE performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with HIM.

15 Therefore am I troubled at HIM presence: when I consider, I am afraid of HIM.

16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

If you have a heart of flesh you will be troubled too!

Romans 8:28...And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. for anyone who don't believe God keeps His promises just need them to study this one verse. God's thoughts are not our thoughts and God's ways are not our ways and I hate to read the post that says God does not keep His promises in a timely manner to benefit anyone. saying that is the same as mocking God.

People such as follower of christ do much more damage than good. You have born false witness against me, looking at your posts to other blogs you seem to ignore gods word and preach your opinion. I never cursed god. You made that up. You sanctimoniously pronounce judgement without regard to truth or where others are in their walk. Remove the beam from your own eye before attempting to remove the mote from anothers eye.

I said god doesn't keep his promises in a timely fashion. I blame god for nothing. He can do as he pleases. I merely stated that when he does keep his promises it is often too late to be of any value to the person waiting for the fulfilment of it. As for being one of satans workers, who is the one who works for satan. Is it I or the one who judges and condemns those who have a different view than they have. My point of view is based on the word of god- what god has said. You are guilty of idolatry it seems as you you have rationalized god and made him over into your version. God is and is what he said. Perhaps you would do well to really see who god is. He is not a soft, cuddly, feel good god. He is god.
---Richard on 12/9/12

Some confusion here. My post was listed with someone elses of the same name. My Cherokee name will be used now. God doesn't keep his promises in a timely fashion, he is not an ever present help in time of danger. If god stands by and watches while doing nothing who cares if he's there? If you're about to fall from a cliff and he waits to throw you a rope till you die on the rocks at the foot of said cliff of what help is that? Every bad, evil thing that happens to a person has gods approval for "surely no harm can take place without my consent", and god left himself a loophole- in spite of what he has said he "will bless who he blesses and curse who he curses".

God always keep his promises, the bible is a historical document proving that God always keeps his promises

Sometimes we think God has promised us things that he has not promised

Sometimes people make one sided covenant with God, rather than taking hold of the covenant promises already made by God
---francis on 12/8/12

Every bad, evil thing that happens to a person has gods approval

And for every good magnificent wonderful thing majority of lip-service-Christians leave God out of the equation. They believe it is done by their own power, they do not give glory to their creator. They rarely ever thank God. Yet good things will still happen even for the sinners.

It is Satan who wants mankind to believe God does not keep his promises and the more people Satan can influence with that idea the more who will curse God and blame him for every wrong thing that happens in their life like Richard has done. And Richard is one of Satans workers.

Q:Does God keep His promises? Some have said, He rarely keeps them.

A:I would venture to say that the person who said that, has not believed.

Hebrew 11:6, "He that comes to God must believe that he is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him."

Hebrews 10:38, "The just shall live by faith. But he that shrinks back, my (God's) soul has no pleasure in him."

I believe BLESSINGS come out of obedience, but God's Promises are God's WORD, and have nothing to do with man's obedience.

God promised a redeemer, and if tht depended on man, it never would have happened.

God promises to the Church they are saved from wrath to come, again, is not dependent on my obedience.

I become partaker of His divine nature THROUGH FAITH, and through His precious promises, yet it's still God's will that we are conformed to His image. I believe He who has begun a good work in me WILL continue it until the Day of Jesus Christ.

I surrender to His will at work in me.

Oh teacher, but he did,and has according to the prophets.
Isaiah 49
3Said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
6 He said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
7Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, .... because of the LORD that is faithful, the Holy One of Israel,he shall choose thee.
16Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands, thy walls are continually before me.

---Trav on 2/6/11

Depends on what God has promised. Some feel that all promises He made to Israel, he also has made to the Church. Others disagree, believing that the promises He makes to Christians are not necessarily the same ones He made to the Hebrews.

True donna66, God never promised the Church any land. Many promises int eh OT were to Israel who were under teh Law, and were promised earthly blessings for obedience.

OUR blessings are spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ.

There would be no disagreement if these people would look at all promises made. They are all almost fulfilled.
There would be no disagreement if they honored what the prophets and christ have stated...many and everyone.
"Everlasting", "for ever" and throw in "confirmed" are keys foundationing the defining promises.

God keeps every promise He makes(or He has made) but at His own time not always at our time. Remember God fulfilled the promise He made to Abraham to make his children as many as sand by the sea-shore after his death. But Abraham kept faith with that promise till death Heb.11: 8-13.

"God not human to be a liar, nor produced of man, that he should repent: has he said, and will he not do? and spoken, and will not make it good? Engender this not! but come to be God whom true, and individual persons erring, according as it has been written, So that you can be justified in them words of you, and you victorious in the judgment. God keeps his promises! We often put words in God's mouth, thinking he has promised us something he hasn't. But he is faithful. An excellent resource on this topic that helped me understand it better is "Always True" by James MacDonald.
---Keri_Lynn on 1/26/11

No where in the bible does it say, do it this way or I won't answer. He should help everyone that believes, not just chosen ones. Nobody has a good enough reason why God helped them and not someone else. We are all sinners, but deserve the same amount of God's love as the next person due to Jesus dying on cross, so why doesn't he help everyone that has faith in Him without "secret" reasons why. If he's the same today as he was yesterday, why doesn't he show himself, heal the sick, finanacially fix things for believers, and just make things better. WE've suffered enough, we have faith, why doesn't He do what he says He will do ? How can people continue to have faith if HE never comes through with His promises I mean really?

You've got to be kidding with that question, or is blasphemy and sophistry just a game?

What do YOU think and why?
---larry on 10/11/10

The foundation of this question is flawed.
God does not break his promises.
We may be one ignorant of understanding his promises but he does not break his promises.

If such were the case the whole world would disintegrate before our eyes, and that would necessarily include our eyes.

God is God He does as He pleases. No one can direct God, no one can teach God, No one can boss Him. You cannot touch Him, you can not kill Him. You did it in the flesh, only once, never again. Now, He is most powerful. Ahhh Jesus. And, yes, He can change His mind. like He said to me, "If they are promises". Who can understand God? Raise your hand.....He Can take you down one road, and switch you to another one. It's a roller-coaster ride.
---catherine on 10/11/10

I just was reading here, about how god keeps all his promises.
So I was just wondering if its true.
Cause, someone said god can change is mind.
Another said After 50 years of waiting and watching.
Forgive me but, wow!
I have nothing! You think youre the only one, my wife!
Let me just tell you, I know you have it better then me, here!
You said you left the church! I tell you no, you havent!
You think you can lose your faith?
Again please forgive me. But, maybe you never knew had it!
I know god has fulfilled all his promises to you?
Just think about what he promises you?
Ah, but you want the here and now.
Stay strong, awhile longer!

\\God can change His mind\\

Psalm 110 in the RSV says, "The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind."

Who's right? catherine or the Bible?
---Cluny on 10/9/10

"IF THEY ARE PROMISES", SAITH THE LORD THY GOD. Don't be confused, God can change His mind. God is God, just follow Him, and love Him. Come on Jesus....I loved that answer, "if they are promises". WHAT A GREAT GOD! ++
---catherine on 10/9/10

Bill- Earth or heaven? All prayer answered on earth leaves nothing in heaven. LK 13:16 Satan bound a woman. Lazarus too received evil in his life-yet Jesus, who loved them, after much suffering, healed (as they believed & comforted yes)- as testiment to & for the glory God, the Father.

Unwavering faith moves mountains. God answers in His time with comfort beyond imagination. I pray for you both.

Bill: 'God does not keep his promises.'

I am very sad to hear what is happenning to you and your wife, and I do not know why God is not helping you and her (you financially, her physically)

I can only say that I believe there is a reason, but that if I were you, I would have great doubts, and I thank God for not putting me in that place

I hope you can keep believeing

Unless you stay in obedience, God cannot release His promises to His people, or to a NATION.
---catherine on 6/30/10

IT takes time.
---catherine on 6/30/10

Bill, there are two reasons for God not answering prayers.
1. The person is lost
2. or in rebellion/sin.
Bitterness and lying are sin. Your lie is "that God doesn't answer prayer." Your bitterness is an attack on the person and integrity of God.
I had a ruptured colon, complete kidney failure, heart attack, diabetics, double pneumonia twice, paralyzed, contaminated spleen, all internal organs affected and my system septic. Staff infection was prayed away more than once. It was all for God's glory.
I now have no problem from kidneys, heart or other areas.
Apart from that, God said He would answer prayers according to His will and He can't lie. Repent and see.

God does not keep his promises. It is said turn to god in your darkest times and he will answer your prayers. After 50 years of waiting and watching my wife is such sever pain everyday coupled with something major breaking to keep us broke. Candice, spoke well. If it is HIS will, we can ask anything we want, and not ask anything that we will, and expect Santa... God to fulfill it.

Also, even if we ask something within His will, we might not get what we thought, but it will be within His will. The more earthly goods God allowed to be stripped away from me, the richer I became. After all, I asked for it.

Tony---You say:
The others like me-no matter what we do we are condemned for destruction

Why do you think you are condemned?

How would you KNOW if God kept the basic promises of making me a new person, giving me a new heart and giving me the Holy Spirit? What would you expect to happen that didn't happen?

Not everybody is a firebrand from the moment they first pray. Not everybody who claims to be "on fire" for Jesus really is.

Most of us enter the kingdom like babies enter the world....Helpless and without knowledge or judgement (in this case, about spiritual things)
---Donna66 on 5/1/10

For a lot of reasons. Lets just pray for God to keep us. Yes, keep us from the "evil one", from hell....My friends, you must wait on God. His timing is very important to Him. Don't be too eager, learn to wait. God is BIG on this here "long-suffering". God has reminded me, only the otherday, "I am very long-suffering". God's patience is astronomical....Oh my goodness, astronomical, is that in the Bibe? I don't know. I must tend to God's work. We would all be much better off to just love God, for He is our Creator. No matter what you think of Him. HE IS STILL OUR CREATOR. OUR MAKER. I must tend to God's work, because I need His help, so much. Ahhh+.
---catherine on 5/1/10

All you have to do to see if God keeps promises is to be able to read.
God told Abram, I will make of you a nation. Did it.
God said I will give you a land. Did it.
God said I will give you a King. Did it.
Israel rejected Him, it wasn't good enough.
It happens the same way with, He gives us everything we need, usally through our ignorance,we reject it, because 1 we don't understand or 2 It's not what WE want.
---michael_e on 5/1/10

God does not keep his promises. In 15 years of prayer and devotion, he has not answered a single prayer. That includes the basic promises of making me a new person, giving me a new heart and giving me the Holy Spirit. The reason-he picks some people to go to Heaven, those are the ones that from the first prayer they are on fire for Jesus. The others like me-no matter what we do we are condemned for destruction. So do what you want. Paul was a Christian muderer and he saved him. If he wants you, he will save you. If he doesn't, Jesus won't come. You are either predestined for hell or heaven. In my case he has not come and never will.

How would anyone know if God keeps his promise when christians don't listen to him anymore? Or very, very rarely do so.

Christians today fill up every minute of every day with ipods, computers, TVs, phones, family, friends, church, bible study, christian conferences, entertainment, travel, playing, work, school, reading, studying, exercising, shopping, etc. that they rarely find time to talk with God.

Several years ago while praying for my neighbor the Lord spoke to my heart." Go to church Sunday and see Connie saved." Was the message.
Sunday I went to church and told the Pastor that Connie would be saved that day. The pastor looked at me and said Connie is not here.
In Sunday school class I announced what I thought I had heard, and how mistaken I was.
Between Sunday school and church in came Connie bounding down the aisle.
Pastor immediately gave a alter call but nothing happen.
Pastor gave another altar call, this time the spirits said go to Connie and say something, I did, Connie push me out of the way and went to the altar and got saved that morning, recently I saw Connie and was reminded of this promise kept.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For as many as may be the promises of God, in Him they are yes, wherefore also by Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. 2 Peter 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. Every morning I thank God for His wonderful promises and good things pertaining to life and godliness and His covenant of grace by which I have inherited every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Does God keep His promises? Some have said, He rarely keeps them. What do you think and why?
Blog question.

His offspring died keeping his last promise/covenant. That prophets wrote about.

Only time in the history of the world that a thing that separate men wrote....came to pass exactly. In a manner that most cannot even comphrehend. Which is also noted. Living Bible....yes it is alive.

To those thinks he rarely keeps them? Which ones?
They've never really read/asked/compared/knocked/sought scripture.
He kept every promise....is keeping them today. All one has to do is look around them in USA. And look what is happening....they may see fulfillment of ....other....promises.

God always keeps his promises. The scriptures teach of God's covenants. The problem is not with God. The problem is with man.

To put it simply a covenant is a contract, an agreement, a promise.

If God does not keep his promises then there is no salvation.
---trey on 10/13/08

i believe that God is able to keep His promises to the degree that people are willing to keep trusting Him.

if it was all up to God then God would not require anyone to have faith. we would not have to pray and ask for anything. we would not ever get tested or challenged to let go what we believe God would do.

many people dont get teaching that faith needs developement like a seed planted in the ground needs growing time.
so they ask, and they set the fulfillment time, then wonder why God doesnt keep His promises.

All of the promises made to the fathers were fulfilled when God raised Jesus from the dead. The "yes" belongs to God and He has already said yes. The "amen" (so be it...kinda like Mary who said be it unto me according to Your Word) must be our response. After yes and amen comes the glory of God through us.

I believe God always does keep His promises. But what about those promises that depend on another person's obedience. I had gotton many promises that God would restore my marriage. But it ended in divorce and my ex ultimately remarrying. I believe the promise God made me was also conditional upon my ex-husband's wilingness. There are alot of factors to consider concerning God keeping His promises. But does He ever lie? No, never. He can be fully trusted.

God keeps every promise he makes. We don't think that he is keeping them because we complain all the time and we don't allow him to do what he needs to do. With our impatience, God makes us wait longer until we stop complaining.

Hello Brother Lupe, I have taken to answering only the blogs that I feel need answering, as there are a lot of questions being asked with good intent, but tend to lead to arguement. God bless all!

Tommy I had not seen you for a while, as before, I do believe that God's promises ALL come to pass. I had just read a book on "God Promises You" by Charles Spurgeon. I was wondering how others felt. As Scripture puts it, "There hath not failed one word of all His good promises" 1 Kings 8:56. I hold on to that more then anything. The promise is because of the hope we have in Christ. Welcome back

Donna, your reply to lupe is good for a warm, fuzzy feeling, but, the truth is God keeps ALL of His promises. Read the Bible carefully and you will see that He is faithful. He keeps all of His promises, for good and for evil. He promises good to those who will keep His law and destruction to those who would reject Him.

Lupe, to those who have said God rarely keeps his promises probably has never stood on one of them, nor believed them. If you believe them, say them, nourish them, and speak them over your life, they DO INDEED come to pass. I've had MANY come to pass. GOD IS NOT A MAN THAT HE SHOULD LIE!!!!!

He always keeps His promises but often they are CONDITIONAL. Also, He fulfills them according to his schedule not ours! P.
