It depends on what you mean by "mixing". Taking something practiced by one religion that does not conflict with your beliefs (for example, Christians deciding to be vegetarians, as Hindus are) should not be a problem, although it DOES become bondage if one feels obligated to do it, and becomes heresy if one tries to force others to do it.

On the other hand, if accepting something else forces one to deny an essential part of one's belief, doing that is apostasy. (For example, Juadaism and Islam say Jesus was NOT God's son. Hinduism teaches one to pray to other gods, etc.)

Seems to me like there are different rules. The Muslims accuses Christians of trying to get others into Christianity. Yet, it is the Muslims who's wanting the whole WORLD into Islam. Why should a fake religion and a fake god, rule?

It is not a wise thing to do. though you can learn many things from each culture, it is not good to accept every culture(practice)This can confuse your mind even more.Same goes within christianity with different churches. It is best to stick with one church then to hop around. (speaking from personal experiance) if you go to church A,B, & C or just A & B switching weeks, you can't have a steady growth. A plantation like Pslams 1 speaks about.

The BEST of BOTH?! What does any other religion have that would IMPROVE Christianity.
---Donna66 on 9/7/09

1: Easter..Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead [their] dough, to make cakes to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

2: Christmas..Ezekiel 8:16 .. their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east, and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

3: Lent...Ezekiel 8:14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which [was] toward the north, and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

The BEST of BOTH?! What does any other religion have that would IMPROVE Christianity.

History has shown that any attempt to mix Christianity with some other belief has done nothing but dilute and weaken Christianity...
and ruin whatever good fruit might have been produced.

Does going to church, make you a better person? He here every week!
Does being a member of a religion make you a better person? He prays all the time!
What I do see and hear is the separation you put on each other!

I believe Jesus Christ, the word of God is very clear.
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

So, if ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. And if thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?
And if you are accepted, will not the lord be at your side?

TRUE CHRISTIANITY has absolutely nothing to do with religion or being religous, and has everything to do with having an intimate and personal relationship with God through Christ and Christ alone.

The bapt being with the naz or even the method etc is no prob, Why? For r-catholocism (Man-made) being the first trin-church, All the others, the bapt - presby - naz - method - luth - aog - cog - wesley etc trin-churches Are the branched off away from r-catholocism. The islam, hindu's, buddha's etc relig's org's will fall in line there also.
The Only & One Church is Not part of Is, the Apostolic Pentecostal Church that was born on the day of Pentecost according to Acts 2 v's 37-41 which Fulfills Matt 28 v's 19-20.

moderator is right.Catholicism has done this over the years.Denominational churches have done the same.Let God be Truth and every man a liar.

Leslie: Mixing and matching is idol worship! You are building a god to suit you!

Does Jesus claimed, "I am a god" in the bible?

Why do you call me good? answered Jesus, No-one is good but God alone! (Mark 6:10)

God has revealed Himself as "One God" and "One Lord" (Deuteronomy 6:3, Mark 12:29)

God created man from dirt and the image of God (Genesis 1)

God Almighty is the only Creator of all that exits. (Gen. 1:1)

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY, TRUTH, & LIFE! Mixing and matching is idol worship! You are building a god to suit you!

Read the Old Testament accounts in Exodus and Judges and see what God said/did to Israel when they turned to worshipping other gods. He didn't accept it then and He sure won't accept it now. You will worship the one true God His way or die in your sins, as it is written in the Scriptures.

Yeni: If you are to do it, then how would you go about it? I mean, you are not only to be talking about the differences in belief but also about practices! The practices that we have been doing is based on our understanding to be right as to the scriptures. If you are to do what you have suggested, then there must be a viable process. Share that process to us, can you?

If you are really born-again, I doubt that you would even want to entertain the thought of doing that. Once you know Jesus then He is all you want.
---Helen_5378 on 5/29/06

In a sense we mix ours lives with what we believe is best.if you hold onto your money as an idol then in Gods eyes your worshipping it.the only truth is the written word of God,and the true testimony about our lord jesus.Anything else, I mean ANYTHING ELSE, IS FALSE TEACHING period.

WRong, Ramon. The RCC has never been doing it.
---Jack on 5/14/06

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Jesus Christ says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father, but by me." Jesus Christ plus anything else is NOTHING! It may "feel" right, but that is a deception. There is no other way.
---tommy3007 on 5/6/06

You cant!.The RCC has been doing it. And you can see how corrupted they are!!!.
---Ramon on 5/4/06

The RCC has been doing it for centuries, so there is a short answer.

It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to mix Christianity with any other religion. Jesus said "I am the truth, the life and the way, no-one comes to the Father except through Me". To be a Christian we must accept those words as truth. If we can't we call Jesus a liar. Having accepted them, we know all other religions to be false.
---M.P. on 5/3/06

Give an example of the BEST of both. Did Mohammad die for your sins? Are you totally forgiven for your sins if you practice worshipping a false God other than the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. You will NOT get the benefits of both. You will grieve GOD's heart if you worship false gods. The Lord God of Israel, Jehovah God is the ONLY TRUE GOD.
