It seems like my whole Christian life is a test .. at least for the past 3 years. I have mental health issues which are now being treated so life is a lot easier, but there are still moments when I get very weary of the battle. I never give up though because Jesus is the same and He never changes and He has always brought me through so He always will do that for me. My illness I now believe the Lord uses to keep me close to Him and leaning on Him.

I sing with a trio, but last year I had half my thyroid out, a month later, the other half was out. I lost my voice. Everything I tried to say was a real strain on me. That was a trial, and I am about at the end of this valley. My voice is almost all back now. I thank the Lord every day for what he has done in my life.

Donna2277 you are so right sister -- there are times when anything would be better than mental illness. Hope you are ok now. Bless you sister.

Helen--Bless you.I too had mental health problems for years.. so painful and so lonely. Mostly, Jesus was the only one I could talk to. In 2004 had invasive cancer, spread to lymph nodes... no insurance for surgery, chemo, radiation. Wondered if I might survive, then find I had no money to live. I have no family, but my church family gave food, transportation and love, without me ever ASKING. God provided finances. I'll be OK, but couldn't help thinking that cancer is easier than mental illness any day.

Shirley my life has really got exciting. I wonder what is going to happen next and how God is going to fix it.
Every time the Goliath comes down the hill after us God sends a David and guides the rock. I must at this time thank ChristiaNet again for being involved in my life.
Thank God for all of my Christian Brothers and Sisters.

I doubt everyone will agree with me,but I always feel when the hard times come,no matter what they may be,the devil sure is afraid of what that person of God is about to do for the Kingdom. Talk about a hindering spirit; Satan can't stand it when we get on fire for God, and that fire moves to bring others to the Lord or minister to them in some way. We may be knocked down, but don't stay, for Gods power more abounds, and raises us up more every day. Warriors always fight back to win, through Jesus Name!

My trial involved being told by my husband that he wanted to divorce me around our 25th wedding anniversary. The month we sold the house, my younger son came home addicted to heroin. This was in December 2001. My daughter got married the week after Christmas. So, in 3 weeks, I had to leave the home I raised my kids in, celebrate Christmas in my new apartment, marry off my daughter and get my son into rehab.

Jeremiah 29:11 became my mantra.

Bro. Elder, I thought I had trials until I read yours. Now I feel like a teeny weenie complainer. I have had trials all thru my life but the past two years was the hardest trial I ever faced. Bro. Elder, you are a real trooper. I sure love you and Mrs. Jareldeen.

I have been fortune enough to have my colon rupture, went on dialysis, had a heart attack, diabetes, 16+ pints of blood (Complete oil change twice over), been on life support, too weak to hold a pencil to write mean notes to the Doctors, many other things and robbed of everything except Christ and my brothers and sisters in Christ thus finding out that there is nothing that I need except Christ.

I am unable to hold a job due to my health and need to rest at unusual times.
I came on ChristiaNet in the year 2000 and every month for 6 years God has supplied Internet fees for me to stay on line. For 6 years I have not been able to pay those fees but God has ALWAYS (as in never failed) to supply those needs.

Example of what's going on in my mind...
The drivers of an old slow Jeep and a new fast one saw a thermos bottle laying on the side of the highway one morning.
They both went after it at the turn around with the slower old Jeep in front. On the straight away the new faster Jeep zoomed by the slower one at incredible speed on the smooth comfortable roadway.

The driver of the slower Jeep just put his in 4wd and took the hard way over the median and was parked with the thermos when the faster Jeep zoomed by empty handed.
After 25 years I still enjoy that thermos.
So my Christian life, tho is seems rough, it ain't been nothin' but a journey and I'm taking the short way home.
Serve the Lord, you will NEVER regret it.

I dont think I have been tested yet. So far I have been blessed and I thank him every day for that. But, I havent been a true born-again Christian for all that long, so I am sure my trials are still being prepared.

Niki - I went through the same issue as you regarding medication. I am now being treated and it truly is a God send. See my post below. Take care.

WOW Shira... I'm a singer with a thyroid problem... it is my "testing" thing! It is effecting everything - my voice, my low energy, depression. I refuse to be on anti-depresants, declaring that I should be transformed by the renewing of my mind... But sometimes I think I need more help. don't know. Anyway... had to write because of the thyroid/ singer connection. Groovy. Ciao,

I would like to share something too. Two years ago I had a boss who was married and continued to make passes at me. I would not succomb to his evil ways and I spurned him. He was committing fruad and I kept quiet for a year and a half, then turned him in. Now people are saying I was wrong for turning him in. I do not feel I was wrong at all and the test that I passed was: He said to me "I know you are a Christian." He hugged me goodbye on his last day. I learned alot from that test.
