Yes, but that is a tricky question. Of course if God has revealed a Truth to me I would believe it. The question is how do you know if it is God trying to reveal something to you or it is satan trying to trick you. Remember Eve. That's why I believe Jesus who knows man's ways and heart established His Holy Church. Many people are lead away from God because they trusted in themselves. Many cult's leaders claim to have relevelation from God and left their own Church taking others with them to hell. |

Once you believe everything any church says, you run into trouble. Believe God who speaks to us through the King James Bible. Never believe everything in a Church Bible. These have errors which are man made. ---Jude on 4/5/07
What happens if the Church uses the KJB? |

I believe God above all and I refuse to attend a church and follow doctrines that are contrary to God's Holy Word. I could not continue in this hypocrisy. God will hold us responsible for working out our own soul salvation, not some preacher or church. |

You sure can LOSE your SAL. Have you read the part, that says, If a man who knows the ways of our lord & returns to his old ways and begins to Drink(drunk) & fight with people, That Jesus would come upon him Like a thief in the Night? OR the part where Jesus says, that your name not be BLOTTED OUT of the Book of LIFE? The Dog back to his own(vomit) & Pig back to her (mud) Parable?
Theres alot more. |

Mima, I came out of an Assembly of God meeting, believeing as you said, that I could lose my salvation. God led us into a Grace meeting which puts us in a somewhat Bapticostal meeting. We believe in Eternal Security and the infilling of the Spirit. The Grace of God brings freedom in Jesus from all that would hinder us. |

Believing the Bible to be a personal letter of instructions, I am attempting to pay close attention to what the Bible says. For example I am very Baptist. But because the Lord gave me the gift of tongues I find myself at odds with what my Church teaches. Because I believe the Bible teaches eternal security I am unacceptable to Pennycoastal charismatic churches. And while they me to speak at their churches sometimes they do not except my beliefs, so I am left outside of the churches. |

Grace, this is what is called "gnosticism". |

we should believe the teachings of the bible with the leading of the holy spirit..not of any church altho they lead you into it first. If their teaching is in accordance to the bible, then its truth and has light. If God's truth is different to mans, then I go with God's and God's teachings alone. |

Debbie....thank you for your lovely words, I do so appreciate them! Jack: Yes, I do believe my spirit is in tune with the Holy Spirit! I went to God in humility and was open to his teaching. I cannot argue with His message to me. Elroy....I too have been given much wisdom that is contradictory to some current doctrines in the Christian church. As we grow in spirituality there is so much more to understand. That is an exciting prospect! |

If my spirit doesn't agree with the Holy Spirit, it doesn't matter who else I agree with. The Word tells us that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all Truth. He is the ony One that can. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? I have to agree with God before I dare to agree with anyone else. |

I believe what I believe because it is "the" truth. God has revealed many truths to me which are blatantly contrary to what most churches teach, and he also has revealed to me why these church bodies teach their misconceptions. |

The important question, Grace and Debbie, is this:
Do YOUR Spirits agree with the Holy Spirit? |

I trust my Pastor because he tells us to check his teachings with scripture & if he says anything not in scripture, to tell him! Not many Pastors I have been around says this . He is with the word & an instrument of God, meaning he tells the message how it is, Sound Doctrine. |

Grace, My Spirit agrees with your Spirit. You have had Grace revealed to your heart. An open mind and heart, coupled with trust in the Lord brings the Gospel of Grace straight to your inner man.
Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
I love the Word of God! |

Who to believe? God or man? It is a difficult question; I too went with God. How could I do otherwise? I saw a wonderful movie with Demi Moore "The Scarlett Letter" which demonstrates the difference between the laws of God, and the laws of man. I was able to gain a grasp of the difference between 'religion' and spirituality'. Religion is the intrepretation of Gods law by man, Spirituality is God's law given in understanding to man. One is bound in ego, and the other is given in grace. |

God has revealed many deep wonderful Truths to me and some are in direct opposition to what I had been taught. I then had to decide to believe God or man. Of course, God is the only reliable source. When you speak to others about a revealed Truth, and it doesn't agree with their doctrine, they reject it and discard it with out further thought. And as the Word says, the Truth will set you free, but not if it is rejected. |

As I studied the development of the religion of Christianity, I had many, many questions. I had to go back to the very basic source...God! I learned that I had only to ask the question, and listen with an open mind, free from blinders or preconceived ideas. As though my mind was fresh, clean and innocent. For me, this was being reborn. A new way of learning about our spiritual relationship, a new way of behaving toward others, and a new way to grasp the magnificence of the divinity of God. |

Debbie......yes I so agree with you. It isn't that God withholds information from everyone, it is just that everyone is in a different stage of spiritual development. When you are ready to see, God will show you, and it is those moments that I define as miracles. When they happen, you feel as though a light is shinning brightly through you! It is so wonderful that you want to share it with others!! |

YES! And, with great joy! I can tell you many, many times that God has given me an answer to my questions. And, the answers are always balanced and based on love. And, yes, yes, I had to put aside many ideas that I had been taught by my parents, culture and religion. But, the outcome is freedom from fear. It isn't easy to set ideas aside that have been taught to you since you were born but it it is worth it, because you begin to see God and gain peaceful understanding. More on this...... |

When God reveals Truth from His Word, it is very exciting. You are bubbling over with joy from the Holy Ghost and you just want to tell everyone. Then reality set in, either those you are telling have already received the revelation or they think you are totally off the wall. Either way, they aren't excited with you. In fact, they just kind of look at you strange, and you wonder, why did I even say anything. God reveals the these Truths to us as we are ready to receive them according to our growth in Him. |

Two years later, our Pastor's Pastor stood in our pulpit and spoke the exact thing the Holy Spirit spoke to me. It wasn't much consolation that no one received it from him either. However, constant exposure to the person and work of Christ is opening some eyes to what God meant when He said what He said regarding that man and his number. |

I don't believe anything just because it is taught by any man or a church. I am sensitive to the witness of the Spirit and to His warnings. At a time when just about everybody was going on about who the antichrist was and what 666 stood for, the Holy Spirit showed me who the antichrist really was and why that number was the number of a man. I accepted it readily and completely, against what everybody else believed. |

Part 2.
As Charles Spurgeon, the great Baptist preacher said, some people are all excited about spreading what the Holy Spirit has told them, but show a marked lack of interest in hearing what the Holy Spirit might have already told others. |

If you DON'T believe what your church teaches, why do you bother to attend it?
If you don't believe it's the true church, and since Jesus said His church would be true, why aren't you out there looking for it?
OTOH, where did you get the idea that God would reveal a truth to you He's not already revealed to others? Or as St. Paul said, is it just to you the word of God has come? |
|

Mima,a thought; wisdom would dictate you keep your doctrinal opinions to yourself. You aren't called to share them, you are called to win souls and that is a simple message of Christs birth, death, and resurection. How He saves. Only God changes beliefs so in always sharing your denominational, contrary doctrine, you are wasting your time, you could be building the Kingdom of God and thats all we are called to do. You can go to any church if you don't slap them in the face with your beliefs. Hold your peace. |

I have been going to a Bible church for about a year now and it has brought me back into the Word. Before, I thought I knew a lot based on what I had been taught, but now that I have been reading it for myself, I have changed a LOT of what I thought was right. Now I hunger for the Word and read it constantly, always checking what I hear to see if it matches up with the Bible. I think God lead me to this church and believe that the Holy Spirit inspires the pastor, because he preaches right from the Word. |
