I Lose My Anointing

I have been really struggling lately with my anointing. I have the gift of worship and leadership. I happen to play the piano. I have been ministering lately to the elderly in nursing homes and I teach piano to children. I lose my anointing the night before church. Why?

because you disobeyed the lord

Could somebody explain to me what 'my anointing' is? For some reason that word (anointing) really bugs me. I mean absolutely no disrespect and I dont know why I dont like that word.

how do you know that you have the anointing? If you know that you have it,how did you get it?Whatever you did to get it is what it takes to keep it.

Maybe next time God will have something different for you--a different gift.

Though I should think that visiting the sick and comforting the sorrowful and lonely in nursing homes, as well as instructing children in music--physical and spiritual works of mercy in themselves--are not ministries to be lightly despised.

No one ever loses their annoying. The gifts of God are without repentance(God does not change his mind once a gift is given). Now you're annoying can recede back into you, it can lay dormant for a while,or for ever, but it can never be lost.

Anyone can lose their annointing. No one is God's gift to the ministry. You must walk in love. Stay out of strife. Be obedient to God. A whole bunch of good stuff.

You don't lose your annointing, but are you sure that you know what your gift is? It sounds like you do have a calling and a gift, but perhaps not what you think it should be.

Gail:The answer to your question is within your question. Ask the Lord to show it to you. When you receive the answer know this, the answer will go against the grain of your understanding.

You have not lost your anointing unless you have forsaken your committment to the Lord. Use that time to pray and praise the Lord and the Lord will give you what you need for the next day! Pat

Feelings. How utter unreliable they are. I have found that there have been times I feel I may have missed the mark all together with respect to preaching, teaching or ministering in song etc. that people have been blessed the most.

You are tensed before the service. if this isn't why, it is something deeper than anyone on this blog can answer, giving your description of the situation, except if revealed by the Holy Spirit. (I play the piano, sing and direct music at church too, and i can tell you my own experiences).

You cannot lose your anointing unless God takes it. Being anointed isn't up to us anyway. It is a ministry tool/gift from God. And, Ricky is right. It isn't about what you "feel." It's about whether God will move through you in that moment. If you are ministering the Gospel, He will. His word will not come back void - that's His promise.

Maybe it is time for a change on how you worship the Lord. Playing the Piano can be a song of praise, but maybe you might need a change in routine. And plus Satan is always trying to steal our joy, when it comes close to going to church. that is his job, along trying to destroy us. right before the service, fall down on your knees and ask God to help you to clear your mind and focas on him. Also rebuke Satan and let him know that he isn't going to steal your joy because you came to praise the Lord.

I am a teacher, and when I get up to teach, I know that the Spirit of God is always with me, but I wait for the anointing to fall on my time of teaching. I can tell you when it hits and I can tell you when it leaves. I can also see it in other people. I know if I try to do anything in my own strength, He will just let me do it, no anointing. We must feel that we can do absolutely nothing on our own, and we can't. Anything done with the anointing is powerful, but without it is of no effect.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but are you sure it's just not a FEELING you're "losing"? If you are annointed for service in the kingdom and you are living for God, the annointing is not something you take off and put on, take off and put live and walk in it- because it isn't a feeling, it's a FACT. Therefore it is not subject to how we FEEL. Do you know how busy God would be if he took the anointing off of us every time we didn't feel especially "spiritual" that day?

Gail, God doesn't take back the gift that He gives. He loves you. His gifts & callings are given without repentance.(Romans 11:29)
