I don't know. Though the Lord warns us about false prophets. If he is a false prophet the Lord will deal with him. Only God knows his true heart. Don't judge him. Don't be a follower of men, the Lord has given us instructions of his own. Follow him and you will not go wrong. |

The point I was trying to make about the Bereans is that it is true that they were good at studying, researching and analyzing old testament scripture, but the reason they did that was that they wanted to be a good PAUL FOLLOWER, not a good JESUS follower.
It is time for each Christian to set THEIR OWN priorities and realize what a PERSONAL relationship is. A personal relationship is...
1) TWO WAY. God wants to have a personal relationship with each one of us (His spirit "yearns jealously", James 4:5).
2) EXCLUSIVE. If a Christian has the ambition to love God with a personal relationship/devotion, then they will allow no interference from Benny Hinn, etc. |

I often wonder how many people know about the Bereans.
I do know you will never hear false teachers like Benny Hinn talk about the Bereans.
I also know false teachers like Benny Hinn do not want people to follow the example of the Bereans. |

The Bereans double checked the scriptures because they wanted to be good PAUL FOLLOWERS. Where does God ever suggest that the modern Christian should be a 'human being follower'?
I decided to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified. Nothing before the spirit was given is valid as part of modern worship (John 7:39). We have already been justified in Christ (1 Corinthians 6:11, Galatians 2:16 and 17) and must do the works of God by simply trusting that He did all that was necessary (John 6:28 and 29). |

Melanie, here's the deal.
Celebrities and movie stars are not taking donations off of the backs of poor people.
If people decide to pay the ticket price for their entertainment, that's their choice. Celebrities are paid a huge salary.
Poor people give their money because they think as the Moderator has explained about gambling, that if they give - they will get a huge return. Give 10, get a 100. Give a 100....so forth. |

While some feel that ministers deserve that huge salary like a celebrity, I suppose it would be fine if it wasn't coming from donations that are tax exempt.
Even celebrities have to pay their taxes and ministers are exempt. That's why the scrutiny, for the all of the private jets, vacations, perks that come along with having the tax exempt status that makes their wealth multiply faster than even a celebrity's. |

Con men see it as a good gig, a way to rack up the bucks without paying a dime of taxes on it. You can see why it lures and tempts the false teacher or preacher to pull the wool over the eyes of the elect.
I think there are people hiding out in ministries, as a way to make money and live a lifestyle they've grown accustomed to without much work.
Here's the kicker. God knows who's in it for the money and He exposes them very openly, too. It happens, not every day, but it happens. |

So what, no accountability? If he was into other sins like womanizing or drug abuse should we excuse him because he is spreading the gospel?
People like my POOR sister (who gave over $30,000) are bilked out of millions of dollars by abusive teachings that lead them to think they can play heavenly lotto with God and reap some kind of special blessing for funding a greedy embezzler.
At least the Catholic Church has the vow of poverty. That is a bit extreme, but I would rather give my money to World Vision or Compassion International to fund a 3rd world child. We all answer to God for how we spend our money, and that even includes church giving. |

And I think that people would complain just as much about a gas company raising prices so its CEO can buy a new private yacht, as about a televangelist asking viewers to donate 6 million dollars to buy a new private jet. |

I do have a problem with those that freak about his monies but not at the lifestyles of some of the Hollywood, politicians, and even drug lords...not a peep. If Benny Hinn is real...I would rather all that money be going to something like that than these other people. I guess...the bottom line is people value our movie stars and CEO's than the Gospel. Besides..most that freak about money are just hypocrites. |

I have seen most of the true exposes in the media and will never give him one thin dime. His abuses and embezzlement of the Lord's money are rampant. Several mansions, a private jet used for private luxury travel. Etc...Just remember that those who profess to be in the "ministry" are called to a higher standard than the everyday man. One day they will face judgment for what they have done. |

20/20 snuck a camera into one of his crusades. They followed up on a bunch of his fake miracles and showed he stole money that was supposed to go to an orphange which he never built.

Benny Hinn will not disclose his finances. A lot of his money goes on incredible luxuries. I don't know if his 'healings' are real or just plants in the audience. I don't go for some things he says and he has a controlling personality.However I saw a small child obviously crippled and in a wheelchair healed.I was visiting the church where he at the time was pastor in FL.I was very close and saw it happen.I am a nurse and not fooled easily.GOD does the healing but some people do have the gift and he does have this gift.If I had an incurable disease I would want him or a minister in Terre Haute named Kieth Taylor pray for me.KIeth has the same gift. |

I watched the Pope's recent USA visit and noticed a couple of Cardinal's were wheelchair bound. If they can get that close to the Pope you would think they would be able to get time with Benny and lift them from the bondage of those wheelchairs. Just imagine. Dancing Cardinals on Benny's stage! |

Is Benny Hinn for real? Yes he a real false teacher deceiving as many as he can, but he can't deceive the elect of GOD. Please read Mat 24:24 & Mar 13:22 The plan of GOD is perfect and no one is getting away with anything, Not Benny or even satan. Please read Mat.15:13 So rest in the fact that GOD is in control.

I have read many web articles RE BH, watched his television programs on TBN, and trying to understand both sides of him / his ministry, which is very difficult.
One thing Benny said, which makes me think, which I saw on one of his television broadcasts:
He said:
"If anyone dares put their hand against this ministry, they will surely be cursed"
I don't agree with his "cursed" statement, as not even God will curse man. |

I don't doubt that BH is born again. But I don't know where he gets the doctrine he teaches. Seems like a lot of it comes from his imagination (even though he claims it from the Holy Spirit). Quoting the Bible doesn't necessarily make ones teaching "Biblical". He DOES know how to work a crowd. |

The word of God says that to give money to the rich when your brethren are in need can bring a curse on you. I'l bet Benny won't share that scripture. It's a shame people send money to men that wouldn't drop what they're doing to come personally and pray for them. That's why the word shows "captains" over smaller numbers. Honestly,Benny Hinn may or may not be "of God" Ministers, evangelists are not perfect and will make mistakes. But..God will use whomever to reach people for healing or salvation. People who give to any ministry give to God. That gift and the giver's intent will be honored by God. Once given it isn't the giver's anymore. If the person that receives it misuses it - they will have to answer for it. Just concentrate on your own spiritual growth and let God deal with everyone else. |

Again, Hinn is not supportable. No one here is able to step up to the plate. My sister, a hard core right-wing-Southern-Baptist (my words) whom I love to debate and disagree with, finds Hinn an insult 'not worth discussing.' Most here say he is fake. I have only seen one person try to defend him, and could not back up what she was saying in his 'defence.' Even the bad stuff should be backed up, this marijuana smoking, was it video taped, are there credible witnessess? If there are not, it should be stated. Plenty of other factual evidence clearly shows him a fake. What I feel for is the old lady who sends her SSI check, or the other victom of his healing, a child who stops his meds, and dies. This is all documented. |

I heard that Benny has been smoking marijuana and my friend says he say it on video. And no it wasnt him before his supposed conversion. Ye shall no them by their fruits. One time at a show the sound went off by mistake and Benny supposing that all the sound had gone off started to cuss and swear at the guy in the control room and he didnt know that his mikecraphone didnt go off and the whole stadium heard benny hinn cussing out this poor guy.

Maria; You are the first person I have ever seen defend BH. I doubt you will respond. How do you assess that BH is a man of God? BH's own words, his own bizarre predictions and goofy actions condemn him. We are to use discernment, and not ignore reality. He has clearly, by other Christians been shown to be fake. The fact that you or any supporter of him will attempt to defend him clearly shows BH is not defendable, that is why no follower of BH will respond. |

Speaking against a man of god has severe consequences read in numbers what happened to Meriam and Aron when they spoke against Moses. The best approach when you dont have something positive to say about someone is to keep quite especially if that person is a man of God, we dont want to bring God's wrath upon ourselves spoken out of ingnorance and lack of knowledge. BH said you should sit up your dead relitives to watch his TV show-He said Jesus came to his crusade-He said Castro would be out of power by 1995- He said the gay community would be gone by the end of the 90's. Some of these TV evangelists "feed" on the widows and the needy. But I agree with Mima. Putting aside that it's BH, or the church on the corner, peoples intentions are they are "sowing seed money" to the Lord himself, and are believing in the rewards God has promised us, regardless of how BH, or the church handle the money. No it's not right, but everyone needs to put aside the "evangelists" and look more at the intentions of these that are giving. |
