My mortal mind is too limited to comprehend something as big and vast as God's love. I get overwhelmed when I think of it.

Shira, we aren't "just flesh". That which is born of flesh IS flesh. That which is born of the Spirit IS spirit. If you have been born again, you ARE spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Make no provision for the flesh. Jesus already made one. It is called the cross where the end of all flesh came up before God in a judgment. What a sweet aroma that was to Him.

God makes his love known to us plainly.(Matthew 5:43-48)

The very nature of God is love, (think of the way he fashioned creation) the Holy Spirit enables us to be like him. (2Peter 1:3-4)
Having then known the love of God and now also understanding we are to express his love at all cost. (John 15:12-13)

We only understand a small portion of God's love. Cause our carnal mind can't comprehend his ways. If someone does us wrong, and we are really hurt, what do we do? We huff up and walk away and we don't talk to them for a while. God wouldn't do that, and that is where most people (including me) fail him. We need to strive to be like God more and more everyday, and once we get closer to him and stronger in him, then we can understand him and his love a little better.

This great love of the Father for us is where I like to start my prayers. My prayers for worshiping, My prayers for petitioning and my prayers for Thanksgiving. It is the Thanksgiving prayer that stirs the Holy Spirit within me and gives me courage and strength to praise the Savior more and more. Oh let us be thankful to the Father for what the Sun has done for us!!
